>> now at 11, a legal win for president trump. the federal appeals court has ruled the president can keep control. >> of the national guard troops he deployed to los angeles. thank you for joining us here at 11. >> i'm noelle bellow and i'm dan thorn. the decision by a 3 judge panel was unanimous. they concluded it was likely the president lawfully exercised his authority in federalizing control of the guard and that the federal government's interest and preventing violence and vandalism is significant. tonight's ruling overturns a decision made last week that ordered the national guard back under the command of governor gavin newsom. the governor, though, is vowing to appeal. he posted on social media. donald trump is not a king and not above the law. we will not let this authoritarian. you said military soldiers, again, citizens go unchecked. and this from state attorney general rob bonta. quote,

crash. 17 year-old alonzo alvarez died in a crash in hollister on june 14th. he was driving home the day after graduating from christopher high school in gilroy. tonight, his family, friends and neighbors held a candlelight vigil. and as you heard held a moment of silence for him. according to a gofundme page for his for the teens, family alvarez was the youngest of 3 and he had dreams of becoming a firefighter. out in the video man faces up to 20 years in prison after prosecutors say he admitted to faking military service for years collect hundreds of thousands of dollars and benefits from his former employer. according to court documents, 40 year-old omar does erie falsely claimed he was deployed with the u.s. military from 2016 to 2022. prosecutors say the scheme cost the employer between $25550,000. the man also admitted to receiving more than $35,000 in federal housing aid by underreporting

his income. >> livermore police have arrested 3 children, ages 12, 14 15 in connection with nearly 50 car break-ins. police say the smash and grabs happened overnight from early may through just last friday in the downtown area surrounding streets. officers say the 2 boys and a girl smashed windows and stole usb drives. battery packs, sunglasses, wallets, all 3 kids have been cited and released to their parents. police say the juvenile hall would not accept them due to their nonviolent nature of the offenses. juneteenth celebrations in full swing across the bay area today, including in downtown san francisco in mid market. the community came together to celebrate the national holiday. it's been 160 years since slavery was officially abolished and it has evolved into a day dedicated to celebrating black liberation and joy. and today's block party featured black artists, musicians, fashion designers, and more.

maker and more winds until the into the overnight and our wind prone areas. you see the red and that purple. that does indicate anywhere from 30 to even 50 miles per hour wind gusts. so this is tomorrow afternoon. and this is that time we see the dry conditions. but we do have some clouds rolling in, which is good news along the coast and parts of the valleys inland and that will help think we can take at this point. as you know, we know it's our dry, weather pattern. but in the afternoon, notice we clear out mostly sunny. of course, brings that elevated fire threat back. so these are the highs tomorrow. it's the first day of summer tomorrow and we are looking like spring where the mid 70's now in places like living morning conquered upper 70's and conquered. and we have some upper 60's along the east bay shoreline in places like oakland and over by the coast. we're talking about some upper 50's and low 60's. so 7 day forecast summer feels like spring tomorrow, but we cool down until a pretty much saturday and then sunday we

serino has always been on the top 10 list when it comes to same couples for most cities boasting an extensive lgbtq+ section in its public library. >> is transcendent enough and it is tough to find a larger collection of pride, fiend literature at an east bay public library. then this young adult, was the at 603, do apart from others is still in the hands of its elected leaders. as more people understand who we are as a city that we do have an lgbtq majority. plus on our council. >> there are more willing come out and really just embrace what we're doing here. the city mayor, pro tem gabriel quito was elected to else city council in 2014 that eventually becoming the city's first openly filipino american mayor. when i turned 18, i graduated here from else read i was out already. so. >> i had no problem, but that i've always been out when he took office. he says the city became the first in contra
