of the national guard troops deployed to los angeles. that decision by 3 judge panel was unanimous. they concluded it was likely trump lawfully exercise authority in federalizing control. the guard and that the federal government interests in preventing violence and vandalism is significant. last night's ruling overturns a decision made last week that ordered the national guard back under the command of governor gavin newsom. the governor vowing to appeal he posted on social media ex quote, donald trump is not a king not above the law will not let this authoritarian use of military soldiers against citizens go unchecked. and this from state attorney general rob bonta. he wrote, quote, while it is disappointing that our temporary restraining order has been state penney. the federal government's appeal this case is far from over. they remain confident in our arguments and will continue to fight. president trump calling the court's decision a big win. he posted on his social media platform. truth social

quote, the judge is obviously realize that gavin newsom is incompetent and ill prepared. and we received this statement from the american civil liberties union. it reads in part, quote, this ruling sets a dangerous precedent, undermine states sovereignty and threatens a civil rights and civil liberties of californians and all americans. we're going to keep you updated on this developing story throughout the morning. right now. several east bay communities are without power because of fire risk. the zuni triggering public safety power shut-offs for the areas on your screen in pink. that includes alameda contra costa, santa clara counties. bge does these power shut offs in anticipation of high winds and dry conditions, which could cause trees to fall on power lines and also spark dangerous fires. officials say they expect to turn the power back on by at least 04:00pm sunday. meanwhile, in the livermore valley east of the downtown, a lot of the biz owners say they

the livermore valleys, purple orchid resort and spa has gone dark. the owners of the purple or could have been here for 14 years. and this is one of our first notifications from pg e that we are having a power shut off. so something new but not something we're not prepared for. but the purple orchid had multiple generators ready to go for basic services and more will soon be arriving to power up the entire place through the weekend. we have our days property that's in full service today. we've got our hotel with all of our rooms booked and wedding this weekend that we plan on. >> preparing for similar preparation was also in place for many other businesses in this area. >> which is comprised mostly, of course, ranch's cattle ranch vineyards and wineries. so this power shut off a certainly an inconvenience to be sure. but many of these businesses have prepared for it and plan for and they're ready to see it through and keep the doors open until it's over. >> in the livermore valley,

san francisco. the entertainment zone will celebrate juneteenth featuring black artists, musicians, fashion designers, and more. we have to continue to raise the visibility of our communities. we have to continue celebrate our diversity, but specifically our freedom and our liberation that switching teams about juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021. commemorating the day enslaved people in galveston, texas, found out they had been freed in 18. 65 2 and a half years after the signing of the emancipation proclamation, i asked hollins about the importance of the holiday happening. >> the same year that president trump has ordered diversity, equity and inclusion be removed from federal programs in schools. even if you don't think you're directly impacted any time. our constitutional rights as americans are being >> violated. whether you're

4 things you didn't know today. >> 4 members of a prison gang. they were sentenced earlier this week for racketeering conspiracy oakland. this after a three-month trial in 2024. prosecutors presented evidence and a jury found them guilty of drug trafficking, murder conspiracies, attempted murder, money laundering inside state prisons. there are additional prison terms range about 10 to 15 years following their convictions. little more police arrested 3 children, ages 12, 14 15 in connection with nearly 50 car break-ins. police say the smash and grabs happened overnight from early may 2 just last friday. this is in downtown area and surrounding streets. police say the 2 boys

morning, a legal win for president trump. a federal appeals court. well, the president can keep control of national guard troops. he deployed to los angeles. get congress will tran live in san francisco with more on that. well. >> the court is right behind the and that decision came down late last night. so if you're waking up this morning and you are not up late last night, here's what happened. president trump still has control of the national guard. it's been a wrestling match between he and governor newsom. governor newsom won the first round because a lower court last week said that president trump overstepped his authority by circumventing the system and the national guard should leave california. the president immediately appeal that to the 9th circuit court of appeals right behind me. and the decision came down late last night, which means that he still has control of the national guard in los angeles as they are still dealing with ice protests. the

protests were spectacular, especially last week when we saw the national guard, including the u.s. marines on the ground going through the city, certain parts of the city to handle the protest. governor newsom said he never asked for the national guard and says their presence. actually, it's making things worse. not better for the city of los angeles and this hot button issue. take a look at your screen. president trump took to social media last night. i won't region the full thing, but here's part of what he had to say. he said big win in the 9th circuit court of appeals on the president's core power to call in the national guard. and then in the middle of the page, he says if our cities and our people need protection, we are the ones to give it to them st be unable for whatever reason to get the job done. now, of course, governor newsom, he is following this very closely. keep your eyes on the screen. here's his reaction to all of this. he says donald trump is
