news at 11. we are following breaking news out of the east bay tonight where there is heavy police activity in fremont hour. >> crew captured a swat officers moving into a home with their guns drawn earlier this evening. thank you for joining us here on kron for news at 11. i'm noelle bellow. fremont. police first sent out an alert about this police activity around 9 o'clock tonight. they are on mission boulevard between walnut avenue and evenson boulevard. this is a right near the california school for the deaf southbound lanes of mission boulevard remain closed at this hour. swat officers spent about 10 minutes inside that home before walking back out. our

crew did not see anyone being escorted out. and once the swat team left other agents also cleared out. however, this is a live look tonight. we did reach out to police for more information on what prompted this response to this neighborhood. we still have not received any details. but of course, we will update you either here during this show or on our website. kron 4 dot com. as soon as we learn more information. our other top story tonight, a look at pg e's outage map to flee are able to zoom in it all. there's some areas highlighted in purple that that represents where the power shut offs are in effect tonight. that includes communities in alameda contra costa. as you can see, santa clara counties as well, all affected by these public safety power shut-offs by pg any all day today pg e set up a community resource

center for people without power. this location just outside livermore's costco offered charging stations, water, snacks, blankets and portable chargers. the utility says warm weather combined with windy conditions can cause downed trees to topple over power lines or send debris flying into electrical equipment. that's when there is that possibility of a power outage or even something that could lead to a wildfire. >> pg e first to shut off power thursday morning. and they do expect to restore it by around 4 o'clock tomorrow. but there is a red flag warning in effect tonight for parts of solano county, including the and fairfield as kron rob nesbitt reports at means there's a continued risk of wildfires through the weekend. >> there are several factors contributing to friday's red-flag warning high winds, low humidity and extremely dry vegetation. fire officials want the public to be vigilant this year. many of you have

the temps are climbing into records in the bay area, but we're experiencing windy conditions to end the workweek. santa rosa chief fire marshal paul lowenthal says firefighters are keeping an eye on just how strong winds get into the weekend. really, the concern is just with how dry things are those strong north northeast winds. >> he's definitely leading to the increase. fire danger this weekend with a high risk of wildfires pg e has conducted public safety power shut-offs in alameda contra costa and santa clara counties. alameda county battalion fire chief ken carlin says you can see how flammable vegetation is right now. just by driving around the bay area. can our fuels wind, flashy fuels the grasses and small shrubbery. >> sot cured, ready to go. so with that concern, if you're familiar with eastern alameda county that spurred if model it's there. it's why this large wildfire in antioch burned wednesday evening causing evacuation warnings, structures and homes were spared from the flames. lowenthal knows that's not always the case and why it's important for homeowners to

>> here's the fire danger. watch and warning map here. as you can see that red, it's really from reading all the way to the sacramento valley, the central valley, fresno and even the sierra nevada, this red flag warning also includes the fairfield and vallejo. this goes into effect 11:00am tomorrow until 09:00am tomorrow. all because of the gusty winds here. and we have the dry conditions. take a look at just some of the peak wind gusts today. 58 miles per hour over at sfo. we did see reports of some flight delays out there. altamont pass aware the areas the you know, close to areas where that had their power shut off. 56 miles per hour. so we should see that winds peak overnight into tomorrow morning. but other than that will be waking up to some low 50's and some upper 40's in the north bay. the warming up to the mid 60's and even some 70's for a daytime highs have the seven-day forecast and the rest of the extended forecast in a few minutes. thanks, gayle. >> there's not a war of words brewing between vice president jd vance and california leaders. vance visited los

angeles today accused la mayor karen bass and governor gavin newsom of encouraging the violent immigration protests. john fenoglio has the latest. >> vice president jd vance in los angeles meeting briefly with federal law enforcement and military troops deployed by president trump to protect federal buildings and support immigration enforcement. unfortunately, the soldiers and marines are still very much a necessary part of what's going on here because they're worried it's going to flare back up. he's referring to protests that broke out on june 6th after federal immigration agents carried out numerous raids across greater la sparking fear and outrage among many the administration has since deployed some 4700 troops to the region in response to the basic federal action of enforcing immigration law. >> you had local officials and radical left-wing agitators who actually encourage violence, who facilitated violence and rioting in the great city of los angeles.

what happened here was a tragedy. you had people who are doing the simple job of enforcing the law and they had rioters egged on by the governor and the mayor making it harder for them to do their job. that is disgraceful. both governor newsom and mayor karen bass have repeatedly condemned violent protests while praising peaceful ones. the mayor firing back. >> today, the vice president, the united states, spent 3 or 4 hours in la before holding a press conference and spewing lies and utter nonsense in an attempt to provoke division and conflict in our city. vance also taking aim at california senator alex padilla, who last week was pushed to the ground in handcuffs by federal law enforcement after interrupting a press conference by homeland security secretary kristi noem to ask a question. >> vance, who is president of the senate referred to senator padilla by the wrong name was hoping jose padilla would be here to ask a question, but

enforcing guess he decided not to show up because there wasn't the theater. governor newsom responding on x saying, quote, jd vance served with alex padilla in the united states senate, calling him jose padilla is not an accident. >> that was john fanelli. a reporting for us tonight. los angeles press club. another journalism and civil rights organizations are suing the department of homeland security and secretary kristi noem. they claim federal agents committed unconstitutional acts in response to immigration enforcement protests. the lawsuit accuses dhs officers of, quote, unnecessarily and indiscriminately using that leaves less lethal weapons against reporters, protesters and legal observers. the suit claims federal agents actions were meant to suppress freedom of speech and the press. meantime, a u.s. district judge has put off issuing any additional rulings on the california challenge of the trump administration's military deployment in los angeles. >> lawyers for both sides were

back in court today after an appeals court judge rules overturned. charles breyer's ruling last night. now judge breyer asked for briefings from both sides by noon monday on whether the act that prohibits troops from conducting civilian law enforcement on u.s. soil is being violated in los angeles on kron for news at noon we spoke with you see law, san francisco professor rory little about the issue. >> california will ask him to consider what are the facts on the ground right now in los angeles? you know it is it true that today the regular forces are not able to protect the federal law enforcement efforts that ice is engaged those are the subject of protests. but the protest is not a rebellion. so just by will say, well, what are the facts today? is the troops order still valid? is it still necessary? and are they doing more than just protecting federal property in federal law enforcement? are they actually enforcing state civil

criminal law which would violate the posse comitatus act. and he's really gonna wait to hear from the party's. what did they think is next step in this issue? >> following the appeals court ruling, governor newsom in district attorney rob bonta have vowed to appeal. 11. a wild crash in the north bay. chp investigating how a driver ended up dead 300 feet away from his truck. officers say they responded to a private property around 9.30, this morning just off from valley road south of spencer lane in calistoga. they say the driver's truck was found crashed into a fence and a tree down a hill at this time. investigators believe the driver was thrown out of the vehicle after losing control of it sometime last night before sunset. the truck obviously continued on until it crashed down the hill. driver's body was 300 feet

away. investigators have not yet identified that driver. police have arrested a man accused of shooting and killing someone in sunnyvale last month. investigators say they found 44 year-old jesus aguilar, a in oakland today. he has been booked into the santa clara county jail for murder. police have not yet identified the victim and they do not know or have not released. what may have led up to the killing. a brazen break-in attempt at a jewelry store in dublin this afternoon. dublin police say around 2 o'clock, a group rammed into the gates of bj jewelers on dublin boulevard with a stolen car. however, the store owner had proactively removed all merchandise from display cases leaving the would-be thieves empty-handed. police say the suspects abandoned that vehicle all used in the break-in. they're still looking for those suspects. well, this was the reason for traffic nightmare earlier this afternoon, folks who are

trying to get out of san francisco ran into this problem. chp says a load got separated from a trailer on the lower deck of the bay bridge this afternoon. 2 eastbound lanes were blocked for about 2 hours. they have since reopened. >> still ahead here on kron 4, a dramatic rescue in the north. a car drove over a cliff. plus, heading out of our newsroom. add it to the community. how ron for spent the day cutting back. after the break. standing up to hate how san francisco is elected officials and community leaders are coming together condemning what they call a rise in anti-semitism in the city.

>> an update to that breaking news. we brought you at the top of the hour. out of fremont. there was heavy police activity on mission boulevard between walnut avenue and stevenson boulevard. we're still waiting to hear back from fremont police about what prompted this response. but we were able to speak with a neighbor, a neighbor telling our crew they heard gunshots at a nearby homeless encampment. >> and my wife said that the there was an argument outside and the there was something that was going on. >> so when she went outside, she heard the shots fired. so, yeah, that's how she called 9-1-1 and it was the. this that the reason of, you know, the altercation and that the shooting.

>> as you saw there behind him there redirecting traffic in that area. that video we saw swat officers moving into a home in this area, but they did not walk anyone out when they came back out. officers have since cleared the scene. any new details we receive from fremont police will be updated on our website as well as tomorrow morning during the kron 4 morning. san francisco leaders are coming together and calling for an end to anti-jewish hate. and the city kron four's dan kerman reports. >> this is a time of great fear in the jewish community. but the message today is one of solidarity and it is one of strength. >> jewish leaders in san francisco, we're joined by the mayor, other political leaders, law enforcement and community members to call out an increase of hate and violence targeting jewish people both across the nation and in san francisco, we must all come together to stand with jewish community. >> to condemn anti-semitism. the bottom line is hate has no

place in san francisco. we are not going to stand for it. just this month. the group's peeling anti-jewish hate attacked a man in san francisco's marina district and then he's in the mission was subjected vandals who broke into the building and scrolled anti-jewish hate messages across the walls. i'm not the only throughout history was had messages on the wall saying you don't belong here. but there's a dark tide of anti-semitism that is covering our ceuntry and its shadow as we start city. san francisco cannot allow this to happen. we have to stand against that because it is in our blood to be a city that welcomes everyone. >> those at friday's rally say while the anti-jewish hate coming from the right is easy to identify, similar hate from the left is harder to spot, but just as toxic and destructive, it has to end. >> and jews need to stand up and be proud and not hide. and

our allies need to stand up and say that is not acceptable. >> the anti-defamation league reports anti-semitic incidents have been steadily increasing across the country over the last 10 years. as for why many point the finger at political and military decisions made by the state of israel. but local jewish leaders say that's hardly justification for anti-semitic behavior here at home. >> every june has a different opinion about what's happening over there. their level of connection to it. it's never ok for someone to be held responsible for something happening overseas. so the key takeaway here is not only that san francisco will not put up with anti-jewish hate, but the people, both jews and non jews must speak up and not stay silent. at city hall. dan kerman kron. 4 news. >> look at this. a driver recovering in the hospital tonight after their car crashed off a cliff gleason beach. this is about 30 miles west of santa rosa. chp officers responding off

highway one just before 4 o'clock today that car fell about 100 feet down and nearly on top of its roof. the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle. they were taken to the hospital. we do not know their condition at this time. we want to get your check of the forecast as we take a live look at the bay bridge. a very busy night on the bay bridge. lot of leaving the city headed to the east bay. chief or excuse meteorologist gayle ong is year. she's going to talk a little about the winds of politics. >> in chief meteorologist lawrence karnow and windy. indeed. we've been dealing with the winds that pretty much this week and cooler temperatures and of course, the fire danger with that. some power shut offs and parts of the east bay. so that's the weather story. and that is the weather story this weekend. now the winds are expected to back off sunday. so you'll get the second part of your weekend some calmer

conditions. a live look outside as a foe. now it was breezy out there. so just make sure to check your flight. we felt them delays reported out their current numbers here were breezy still at this hour, 20 miles per hour in san francisco. 23 at half moon bay. now we're expecting to see the winds peak into the overnight hours and into tomorrow morning and afternoon. and then towards the evening. tomorrow may be a different story with that. we have some fire danger, elevated fire danger. we don't have watches and warnings around the immediate area. but we do. and the sacramento and the central valley and it does include fairfield and vallejo. but as you can see on our fire weather model, the yellows and orange colors indicate some slight to moderate and even high risk out there for anything that could spark. so just keep that in mind, be fire aware as we are getting into the warmer months and take a look at tomorrow's highs were holding on to the 70's in livermore, low 80's in places like concord or maybe upper 70's. and then we have some low 70's along the east bay shoreline and more low
