cyberattacks per organization increased by almost 50%. and this recent warning does include the possibility of lower-level cyber attacks. >> and is listed among the top cybersecurity sort. actors targeting the united states. they're up there with russia with china and north korea as well. you think about iraq, like they don't have anything kinetic, you know, physical with a can throw at us. >> but they can out a great cyber security attack hacking, attack our way. >> experts are warning people and businesses should protect themselves by scanning for vulnerabilities and backing up their data when it comes to a cyber attack. while homeland security says there are currently no specific critical, credible threats against the united states, there is a travel advisory star team coverage continues now with will tran. millions of people, of course, travel every day. this travel advisory is not just for people. >> traveling overseas is issue for people traveling

domestically. the travel advisory was issued just perhaps or right after the bombings that took place over the weekend by president trump. we do know that it's going to be in effect, at least until mid-september. so if you're flying this morning by all means pay attention to your surroundings, but not just flying. they're also telling americans walking driving, keep an eye out as well because there are demonstrations and there are supporters iran in the united states. so they're telling people no credible threat, but just be mindful of your environment. i got a chance to speak to some travel delays this morning. they say absolutely. >> i mean, you're aware that there that you're not just in your in your bubble anymore. there's a lot going on outside of just your own personal experience and what you're saying right here globally. but i think it's a good reminder. we should >> being aware of what's going on around the world have been

around the block a few times and traveled a lot and fortunately, nothing bad has ever happened. so maybe i'm just thinking about it. luck can avoid. but yeah, it's certainly it's certainly a concern. >> there is no credible threat as far as attacks on u.s. soil. not so much as far as other countries and they are telling people things could change. for example, one country could be ok today, but could change tomorrow, which is why they're encouraging people at the very least to stay on top of the travel advisories for my that the state department or the department of homeland security because we live in such fluid times. back to you. >> you can always get the latest information on this story and more on our website. kron 4 dot com. following the 2 wildfires that started in contra costa county today. one went all the way up to 62 acres. that's got an update now from our charles clifford is live there in rodeo with the very latest

>> well, good afternoon, along clay courts are on the east side of rodeo of good news here is that they have stopped the forward progress on this fire at about 62 acres. let's take a look at some video. this fire started around maybe 11, 30 this morning. quite a big column of smoke coming up. you could see it from miles around. i was actually on napa and i could see the smoke up there. pretty strong response. you firefighters from rodeo crockett here as well as cal fire sent 3 aircraft, one fixed wing too. helicopters have made flame retardant. water drops around the perimeter of what is essentially a grass fire burning in the hills, sort of on the edge of rodeo. they were able to bring that fire under control in a couple of hours. they're currently in the mop up phase of pulling up their hoses, sort checking for hotspots. so if you're in rodeo, keep in mind, there's still a lot of firefighters and trucks moving around in the area that could cause some delays or backups. and at this point, the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. nobody was injured and no evacuation orders are in place. but for

now in the east bay, charles clifford kron, 4 news. thank you for that update. charles will stay in contra costa county because evacuation warning has now been lifted for diablo residents. >> people between black hawk road and green valley trail in diablo were told to prepare to evacuate because of a wildfire looking at some time lapse video of the smoke there. and right now it's not clear what started the fire. our meteorologist cut grogan has been taking a look the current weather conditions for win. >> can see just how dry the grasses are out there. we look at that video and that's really the biggest issue right now. as far as the wind is concerned, we are going to get that on shore flow this afternoon. we have seen these numbers pick up from about 5 to 10 miles per hour to now. we're more in that kind of 10 to 15 mile per hour range. but this is not bad considering we've certainly had, you know, much more wind than this and the re in the day. very recent distant, very recent past. there you go. it's monday, everybody. one of the things that i am keeping an eye on, though that i don't love is the relative humidity levels have dropped into the 2025%

range here in the inner east bay. and that does mean that that air is relatively dry. so that's part of the problem here is when you get something, sparks a fire and you get a little wind and you've got air that is this dry. you can certainly see things spread very quickly. now, the one thing that is kind of positive here is that we have the marine layer kind of see in the distance. it is going to be coming back in tonight that will bring some moisture recovery, certainly to the areas where that meat marine layer reaches and it certainly kept things cool out of half moon bay today seeing just a 57 degrees. and you can see in san francisco, we just hit the 60 degree mark with the warmth, the certainly the inner east although not any extreme temperatures to livermore right now at about 86 degrees. you know, not that santa rosa at about 83 up in the north bay. here is that marine layer. you can see it has given a little break to the coast. we did have some sun kind of breaking through even half moon bay today. but as we get into tonight, it will certainly rebuild. we'll see those clouds come in. patchy overnight. fog is going to be the case were selling to see the more robust fog at the coast. but the patchy fog will kind of make its way into the bay as well. temperatures

about 47 to 60 degrees. just a sliver of a moon tonight. so we're getting down to that phase of the moon. as we look over the next couple of days, you can see that temperatures are going to stay relatively mild, relatively kind of seasonal. get a little bit cooler tomorrow. the clouds hang on a little bit longer, but then kind of bounce back as we get into wednesday. it's a pretty calm weather pattern this week. i'll have your 7 day forecast coming up. >> well, still ahead here at we'll get our first look at how fires new air weekend, how it will stop wildfires from spreading. plus, we're learning some new details about a hit and run allegedly involving a san francisco sheriff's office. deputy. there he is. the chief of staff. health care workers in the east bay. one week of a strike will take a look at their demand to what means for their demand to what means for patient care.

>> healthcare workers are picketing today outside of any children's hospital in oakland. their union is entering a second week of a strike over a contract dispute. kron four's join hoda has the latest. >> picket line is now underway. it's day 6 of this strike and the union is trying to get a judge to step in right now. these caregivers are employees of children's hospital, oakland at its clinics. but on july 6, they'll become ucsf employees. the national union of healthcare workers claims they're 1300 members in the east bay. we lose about $10,000 a year. take home pay. a union says its members will be forced to contribute to their own health care retirement fund as well. today. they don't pay for

those benefits. an occupational therapist tells us she has over 1000 children on her waitlist because she says her team is understaffed. when i see a 2 month-old baby. >> say i see someone that's last week. my next follow-up is not until the end of august. how do i say that to a 2 month-old baby's family? it's not that the cull it's not it's not good patient care here in oakland, 71 take care of us so we can take care of somebody else's kids. here we are community hospital. we treat our patients that we treat family. ucsf now says they're walnut creek clinic is back open today, but not at full capacity. some services are being moved from walnut creek to oakland. >> and to further notice, clinics remain closed in brentwood, emeryville and ramon during the strike and some virtual appointments are being offered. a judge will consider this case on thursday. for now. strike or continue. it opened. joe. we want kron 4 news. >> a record number of americans are expected to travel next week for the 4th

of july. aaa is forecasting more than 72 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home between saturday, june 28th and sunday, july 6, more than 61 and a half million of those trips expected to be by car. that's an increase of about 2% from last year. nearly 6 million people are expected to travel by air. bp pulse has opened up its latest ev charging hub located just 3 miles from sfo. this hub features 12 ultra-fast ev charging bays. it builds on a collaboration with hertz bringing these charging cubs closer to airports. so these locations are aimed at wright held drivers. so they have a charging station closer to the airport as well as airport ev renters and local ev owners. and with the weather heating up, doctors are sending out a warning not to use chemical bug sprays on kids under 6 months. instead, they want you to put a net over the kids stroller, kids under 3 can use

degrees in san francisco. 83 in santa rosa. we've really warmed up out of their 86 degrees and fairfield now at 91. so we've got some warmth out there. we should be mid 80's inland. some nice 60's around the bay hayward now at about 69. so. >> not bad, but the wind will get a little breezy as you get going into the afternoon and evening, although compared to last week, this isn't bad. >> from what we've seen, but it will be certainly windy. now, as far as the marine layer is concerned, it's going to come rolling back in. but notice in addition to that, there are some high clouds are rolling with this as well. and so we are going to have a bit of a cloudy overnight into the beginning of tomorrow. notice we've got some coastal drizzle possible even across parts of the peninsula into the bay. this is about 07:00am watch how long it takes, though, to get that sunshine going. so you can see now take you to 3 o'clock in the afternoon. and the models here showing that parts of peninsula still in that cloud cover rate throughout the first part of the afternoon. so tomorrow we are gonna be looking out for cooler temperatures. we do have a little bit of low pressure. just a little dip. this kind of come in here. and then once we get on into

tomorrow, right past that we've got high pressure kind of bumping that out of the way. and we get whats called zonal, right? we're in the zone. nothing's really changing over the next 7 days or so. we'll get fog in the morning and then we'll get some sun in the afternoon tomorrow. kind of the exception where we're going to have those clouds hang on for a little bit longer. certainly you can see the marine layer is making its move here. as we look at. and also you can see that the sierra is having a few of those thunderstorms pop up today. they've had a chance of that and it certainly has come to fruition this afternoon. kind of stays up at the higher mountain levels. but still something to look out for. if you're headed in that direction. here's a look at the next 7 days. as i mentioned tomorrow, a little bit cooler as we hang on to those clouds a little bit longer than today. and then we bounce right back into those kind of seasonal temperatures. and there we shall say, as we roll through the next 7 days, including your weekend, which looks pretty nice will pulled up a few degrees as we head into saturday. >> thanks, cuyler learning some new details about a hit and run involving the san francisco sheriff's office chief of staff richard ju

today, the district attorney announcing the ju was charged with a hit and run and filing a false police report. both are misdemeanors. according to court records. this happened off duty in march. well, gee was driving a sheriff's vehicle is accused of leaving the scene of an accident after hitting a parked car and diamond heights boulevard near duncan street in the diamond heights neighborhood. he allegedly waited 2 weeks to report this accident. and when he did, he claimed that he was the victim of a hit-and-run crash. the car that was hit was a total loss. and is due back in court on thursday. happening tomorrow, the san mateo county board of supervisors will hold a special meeting on the future of sheriff christina corpus. this vote coming after the chief probation officer recommended corpus is removal after meeting with her and her attorneys. and during that meeting, corpus had the opportunity to respond to allegations of abuse of power, retaliation against employees and having an inappropriate

>> today, top federal officials, including the dhs secretary, kristi noem were in west virginia for the opening up new training center for border agents. our washington correspondent shot hudson has more on this new facility and its mission. >> as the trump administration ramps up immigration enforcement. it's now planning roots in west virginia with a training facility for border agents. this is a special day. >> and it's a special day, not just for cbp, but for a country. homeland security secretary kristi noem says the new u.s. customs and border protection facility in harpers ferry will serve as a national hub for officer training and development. we see challenges ahead in this country. new threats emerging everywhere. >> the training center is expected to host hundreds of new recruits each year sharpening skills and preparing officers for the job

>> some breaking news now out of washington. president donald trump says a cease-fire has been reached in the war between israel and iran. the president posted this message on his social media account. all read some of that here. it has been fully agreed by and between israel and iran that there will be a complete and total cease-fire in about 6 hours from now, when israel and iran have wound down and completed there in progress, final missions. so for 12 hours, he saying this will

happen at which point the war will be considered ended. so we're waiting to hear now. annie confirmation from both israel and iran. but that's what the president just put out on social media. he is saying that a complete a total cease-fire has been reached. we'll keep our eye on what's happening here because earlier today. iran fired off some retaliatory missiles at a u.s. airbase in qatar. and in response u.s. stocks started to rally, but oil prices tumbled hoping that iran would not disrupt the global flow of crude oil. the dow climbed 374 points. nasdaq jumped one 83 s p 500 up. 57, the benchmark for a barrel of us. oil dropped more than 7% to $68 and $0.51 it briefly. top $78 over the weekend. iran does have the ability to block access to much of the world's oil. but if it did do that, it would also hurt its own economy. now u.s. air strikes on iran have now led to concerns about gas prices. the

u.s. energy information administration says iran does account for about 12% of the world's oil reserves. let's get the latest now from our washington correspondent in a sim lot. he explains what this means for what we pay for gas. >> iran's parliament voted to close the strait of hormuz, according to an iranian state media report, a 5th of the world's oil flows through it from iran and other gulf countries. but the report says the final decision rests with iran's supreme national security council. iranian regime would be foolish to make that decision. it kind say closing the strait of hormuz could push gas prices to about $4 and $0.50 a gallon in the u.s.. iran is also one of the top oil producing nations and could reduce the amount of oil in the global supply. and only way to deal with that >> is everyone is going to raise prices. george washington university school of business professor dr robert weiner studies the effects of crises on oil

prices. whatever happens, gas prices likely to increase. the u.s. is the largest oil producer in the world. americans don't buy oil from iran or through the strait of hormuz. >> but decisions to run makes can still affect gas prices in the u.s.. when you have active conflict. >> no one can really predict where things are going. president donald trump told companies not to raise gas prices into online pose. >> he wrote everyone keep oil prices watching. you're playing right into the hands of the enemy. don't do it. and to the department of energy, drill, baby, drill. and i mean, now the ability. >> the united states or any other country to increase production rapidly is very, very limited. iran sells most of its oil to china. u.s. officials asked china to urge iran. >> not to retaliate using the global oil market in washington. i'm today some law. we will continue to follow the latest information here. as can see, things have been changing quite

drastically this afternoon. so we'll keep you updated on our website. >> kron 4 dot com. and back now to the wildfires. we are watching this afternoon in the east bay and rodeo. cal fire says the rodeo fire crew to 60 2 acres. it is now under control. this fires in the area of sycamore avenue. and clays lane near the eastern border of hercules. the cause of this fire is under investigation. also in contra costa county. we're now getting some new video into our news room of this wildfire fight in blow. that fire prompted an evacuation warning. >> which has been lifted. so this is some new video now in to our newsroom showing us the response that showed up here to help get this fire out and some of the chilled charred hillside that burned in this fire. but it's not clear what started the fire. >> our meteorologist kyla grogan is continuing our team coverage >> yeah, that's right. and listen, we are getting a little bit windier out there this afternoon. it is our natural afternoon push of wind

and it is onshore flow, which is certainly helpful because that means it's bringing in moisture cooler air as opposed to the offshore flow or we get a drying condition that happens from that. but the numbers here not terrible. today, we're about 12 to 15 miles per hour sustained wind in that area. you can see certainly higher numbers out in san francisco right now. and there is the marine layer coming in and we're looking for are secure tower camera right now. and that is certainly going to help moisture recovery as well across the bay area. doesn't always make it as far inland as we would like. but certainly helpful and it should make its way to some of the fire activity we just saw today. so good night for right now. temperatures you can see we are in the mid 80's in spots in the in the inner east bay, but we are only at 60 in san francisco. we you know, at about in the 80's. there is a mention in livermore in santa rosa about 83. so a pretty seasonal kind of the day. this is a very kind of typical bay area day that marine layer is certainly making its way. and we do have some of that thunderstorm activity popping up in the sierra and you can see it there really getting fired up this afternoon and

then other than that, pretty quiet across the state of california. really, as far as weather is concerned. now, we do have this just to kind of watch out for coastal flood advisory kicks in tonight at 8 o'clock. that is because we are going to have a high tide. that's a little bit higher than usual. and so that's a 10:00:08pm, tonight that high tide comes in. and that could mean that some areas, low-lying areas have may be signs that say, hey, you can't park here or you to watch out here because some of that will take on a little bit of water should just be more of a nuisance than anything really too dangerous. but heads up on that next couple of days. little cooler tomorrow. but other than that, staying pretty quiet. >> and in the north bay, cal-fire, let us get a look at its aircraft. it's going to be using in wildfire fights the summer. here's kron 4 charles clifford. >> the cornerstone of cal fire's ability to respond quickly to a wildfire. our aircraft like the one you see behind me here and they are predicting a long, hot, dry fire season and they say these tools are more important than ever. >> season cal fire sonoma lake napa unit will be using 3 fixed wing aircraft and 3

helicopters, including. >> this firehawk to respond to wildfires. these aircraft are deployed across the north bay and multiple airports, including a main base in santa rosa. and here at the napa airport, the idea is to be able to reach any wildfire within 20 minutes. these aircraft can also team up with units from across the state. cal fire's expecting an active wildfire season and they see these aircraft is being key to saving lives and property. >> these aviation resources are key to achieving one of cal fire's core objectives containing 95% of wildfires at 10 acres or less rapid initial attack remains the cornerstone of our fire protection strategy. and is cal-fire prepares to respond quickly to fires. they along with local officials are asking everyone to be ready as well. if you haven't already, please take time today to create defensible space around your home. sign up for alert. napa county to receive emergency alerts and evacuation notices

and most importantly pack a go bag and be ready to leave if evacuation orders are issued of the 6 aircraft in the lake. napa, sonoma unit 3, including the chinook and this black hawk are being leased but only for the remainder of the year. and finally, cal fire's main era tax bases in santa rosa. but the chinook you see behind me there that rotor helicopter will remain here at the napa airport throughout the summer. but for now in the north bay, charles clifford kron, 4 news. >> one person is safe after falling down a cliff near the golden gate bridge just before 9 last night. the san francisco fire department found one adult hanging off of a cliff side. fire crews used a rope rescue system to pull the person to safety and no one was hurt. the el dorado sheriff's office says that a 7th person has now been confirmed dead and one person remains missing after a boat capsized lake tahoe during a thunderstorm reporter. juliet smith has the latest. week. 5

chicago to dc down to atlanta and nashville. it's a big, big dome of high pressure sitting right here and that is heating things up. it's going peak tomorrow. we're expecting triple digit heat for places like new york city which got up to about 95 degrees today in the central park gator. that was looking at. and then, you know, there's humidity there, too. to the contrast of that 91 degrees in las vegas right now. so the west coast is really been quite mild. comparatively speaking. this is where all of these heat advisories are. you can see them all the way from texas right chicago all the way over towards the east coast from maine all the way down to georgia. and you see the extreme heat warnings that the areas in that kind of hot pink ix, you know, that's where it's the worst of it in again. the contrast to that is here we are in california where i can find some 90's for you. 93 in reading and 91 in sacramento. but other than that, we're looking pretty good across the state today. things are very seasonal, very lovely, very june. like for us temperatures in san jose about 81 degrees. we're at 65 in alameda and you can see that,

you know, again, you head inland and you see some of those 80's, but it's really not too bad. snow right now has just popped up to about 87 degrees for get a little warm there. there's that big dome of high pressure sitting right over the east coast. now, the interesting thing is in order for our weather to kind of move that has to move. so it kind of blocking things from progressing like we would normally see them. we do have a little bit of low pressure here now and that is certainly helping to kick off some of those storms in the sierra. it's also keeping us nice and mild and tomorrow it will help to bring some clouds and that will actually keep us a little bit cooler than today. so i do think those clouds will stick around a bit more tomorrow. but notice after that, we get to wednesday, things kind of get back to seasonal and then we pulled up a degree or 2 for the weekend. but the real story is just nice. california weather for the week ahead. >> thanks, guy. love. there are some republicans in the state assembly that are behind a new effort to repeal california's sanctuary state law. that's the law that limits local law enforcement from cooperating with ice. our capitol correspondent eytan wallace spoke with the gop

assembly. >> believe california's sanctuary state law made california less safe. specifically. they argue the law made it more challenging for federal immigration enforcement to find apprehend and ultimately to port violent criminals who are in the country illegally. that's why they're now offering a resolution calling on the state and governor to repeal california's sanctuary policies. >> and so our locals cannot cooperate with ice and our federal authorities. we need to allow our federal law enforcement officers to do their jobs and we need to step up and take criminals out. we're trying to impede them and who are committing crimes. againts. >> law enforcement officers, number one objective of the state of california is to protect its citizens. if it's not protecting its citizens. the number one objective of the federal government is to protect all so the objective is to make sure that our citizens are protected. and that's why we're at this resolution. but his resolution comes in the legislature where democrats hold a super majority, a super majority standing firm behind the state's sanctuary policies.
