afternoon is so we could see another repeat tomorrow with the temperatures. another warm to hot day in store for saturday, but a cool down coming our way sunday. monday. and when i come back, you'll also see another warm up coming up for the on the seven-day forecast. back to you. >> gail, thanks a lot from the state capitol to capitol hill, san francisco state senator scott wiener is eyeing a seat in congress. the senator has just filed paperwork with the intention of replacing democratic icon nancy pelosi. wiener has previously said he would be interested in filling the seat once the former house speaker decides not to run again, pelosi's daughter christine pelosi has been mentioned as a possible candidate and sonoma state political science professor david mckeown says wiener might be trying to get ahead of the curve. thus a big move. it's a preemptive move because scott wiener's trying to get ahead of nancy pelosi's daughter, christine pelosi, who sits on the dnc and has indicated possible interest in that seat. so that

>> primary, that democratic primary in who succeeds nancy pelosi is going to be explosive. it's going to be very divisive. and obviously nancy pelosi wants to have some role in who comes winter's filing with the federal elections committee shows his campaign would be for the 2028 election. but if nancy pelosi chooses not to run in 2026, we noticed it's like very well change course. >> we've got an update tonight on some breaking news we brought you last night. investigators say a 37 year-old woman from sepsis co died after falling off a cliff near the devil's slide. san mateo county deputies responded to that area near highway one shortly before 8 o'clock last night. and had to temporarily shut down the highway to the traffic there. investigators did not say how this woman may have fallen off of the cliff. that still remains under investigation. no charges have been filed in a shooting that left a person dead. another injured in fremont last week following a

parking dispute. police say the shooting happened shortly before 7 o'clock last friday night on over acker avenue near the california school for the blind and no arrests were made. the alameda county district attorney's office announced today they will not file any charges. this, though, did mark fremont's first homicide of the year? forty-niners quarterback deommodore lenoir has been charged resisting arrest in los angeles. lapd says they pulled over an suv. lenoir was writing in in south los angeles for unknown reasons. yesterday. police say one of the people that was with lindor identified as marcus cunningham. through the car keys over a fence which lenoir then picked up and refuse to give to police. cunningham has been charged with possessing a firearm. lenore was arrested and then released. he is back in a los angeles county courtroom later on next month.

big news in the east bay tonight for the oakland roots in oakland sold soccer clubs. the team say they have reached a deal with oakland to keep them in the town for at least another decade. kron four's philippe djegal has the story. >> dawning in oakland roots sports club star gifted to her by one of the professional soccer team's owners basking friday in what she calls much-needed. good news for the town were securing really the future. >> the 2 teams that embody the spirit and the grit of open during a news conference at city hall, mayor lee announcing the city of oakland and alameda county have closed a 24 million dollar deal with the oakland roots. sc. >> and so let's seize partner, redcoat development, allowing the men's and women's clubs respectively to continue using the former oakland raiders headquarters and training facility on her berube parkway for the next 15 years. a training facility is vital to the success of any sporting

organization. and we now have a long-term home. city staff says oakland and alameda county will essentially split the money about 12 million dollars already factored into the town's budget adopted by the city council. earlier this month, focused on protecting services supporting recovery in delivering bar opened. mayor lee says, this deal will help create jobs. the routes have been using the facility in the harbor bay business park. >> for the past 4 years and will continue sharing it with its development team and the sole. this is the foundation that we will build the future of this organization from and we are extremely excited for this giant step in our history. the routes currently play home games at the oakland coliseum, the sole host, their games at merritt college. >> in oakland, philippe djegal, all kron. 4 news. >> san jose police have seized more than 3,000 pounds of illegal fireworks in 2 major busts at of next week's holiday. the first operation was on june 16th where

undercover officers tracked a person selling commercial grade. fireworks out of a storage unit on capitol expressway. that person has been identified as javier martinez, who was arrested after officers found more than 1000 pounds of fireworks and improvised explosives than a week later, invtigators served multiple search warrants across the city and they found more than 2000 pounds of fireworks and more than 50 improvised explosive devices along with illegal firearms, including an ar style rifle with a 3 d printed part. 2 people involved with that have been identified as david benito and one rocha. they were arrested on felony charges. residents have been reminded all fireworks are illegal in san jose and property owners could face up to $100,000 fine. in san francisco. police also seized hundreds of illegal fireworks in various rockets. they wene found inside a stolen uhaul. the van's driver was taken to

wallace spoke to the governor today and has his message. >> we need to do more. we have to be bold. governor gavin newsome calling for action to build more housing in california. specifically. he's demanding the state assembly and senate approve and send legislation to his desk. he says will fast track housing statewide. he wants legislation passed to reform the california environmental quality act or sequel. supporters of secrets, a sequel. it's crucial to ensure construction projects can go to an environmental review process. but critics of sequel, including new, some argue sequins led to lengthy delays and lawsuits often holding up major housing projects, critical that we address the issue of the lack of supply and affordability of housing in the state of california. we've got to get out of our own way. but his housing proposals are facing opposition from environmental groups who say infrastructure and housing projects me thorough environmental reviews to mitigate harm in surrounding areas. on the labor side, the california building and construction

cleanup and refurbishment following the palisades fire and the getty villa. >> is back open in the public. erin myers with our los angeles sister station ktla takes a look. >> the getty villa is officially back open as of this morning. now you can come check out the beautiful grounds. the pools, the artwork, the relics, the new exhibit. i'll have more on that in just a moment. you can see just how beautiful and gorgeous everything looks. they put a lot of work in to make this happen since the fire broke out back in january. i do want to bring in less poor, say to talk to us more about this now. first listen. you were here when the palisades fire started. i was i was on site that day. we were doing some work in maintaining our fire systems. oddly enough. >> that was when we saw in the app that there was a fire nearby were here thrhughout that day. throughout that night. me and a small team of our security and our facility staff maintaining the security safety of this location and protecting it as best as we

could with the amazing help of our firefighters. lafd la county fire department. the building, no significant damage. but the grounds you've had to put a lot of work into also cleaning up. >> absolutely. so about 50% of our trees had to be removed because of the damage or and sometimes they were already dead. >> from the fire or they were going to die. some of them actually were starting to almost fall. it could have been very those had to be removed right away. so that's about 1400 trees and 65 acres. that's a significant amount. so when you do come here, yeah, you'll notice a lot of the damage, especially if you've been here before around the site. but when when you get inside, you're able to be again transported. and this beautiful location is still as pristine as hopefully remember it. and the new one, a new exhibit absolutely kingdom of p lus and really excited that we're able to share this >> amazing collection of pieces that were fairly
