the big story this morning. president trump is once again changing course when it comes to immigration enforcement the president says he's going to give hotel and farmworkers a temporary past. we've. >> all we're doing hornet live in san francisco with the latest on that. joey? >> and guys, this is just the latest development on this ongoing issue here of going back and forth on immigration the president now saying he'll get a temporary pause to those who work on farms or work for hotels as well. making that announcement on fox news channel's sunday morning. futures over the weekend. this is a again temporary. he says the purpose is to give employers more control when it comes to their staffing, deported. trump says he wants to support farmers to give them more control over the situation. he points out it's hard to find people who want to do hard labor in the field. >> it's a problem in both sides of the thing. i'm the strongest immigration guide that there's ever been but i'm

people work. so we're going to work right now. we're going to work is so that some got temporary pass where people pay taxes with a farmer can have a little control. >> video showing officers chasing down this farm worker in california went viral earlier this month. the president said immigration arrests are hurting both the ag industry and the hospitality industry and that did lead to a short pause on arrests a couple of weeks ago. but the administration flip flopped a few days later and voters are thom hartmann said that ice would continue to target farms and hotels. so this is another change back then, a spokesperson for the golden gate restaurant association told us, quote, we are encouraged to read about the recent change in federal policy until there's a clarity regarding ongoing actions, there will continue to be a high degree of stress in our

community. so the administration going in circles here in this latest turn gives a break to those who fill jobs that are hard for folks who want to do it. a lot of cases. the california farm bureau meanwhile saying that if the rest of farm workers were to continue, that could drive up prices at the grocery store. it's unclear at this point how long this pause will last when it really starts back to you. all right, tony, thank you for that. >> 603, is the time. also in the news today, a strike involving health care workers at ucsf benioff children's hospital in oakland is now coming to an end. union leaders called it off on sunday. this after a federal judge denied that request for an injunction that would have stopped ucsf health care from proceeding with its integration plan. so this is video of workers striking earlier this month. the hospitals integration plan includes canceling union contracts and making workers there at oaklands hospital direct ucsf employees. now

union leaders say the plan actually cuts pay for employees, their children's hospital, oakland and their affiliated clinics. but ucsf officials say the move supports the hospitals long term growth plans. workers at plan to be on the picket line on sunday. and today, despite a strike ending, though, the national union of healthcare workers says they will continue to fight this in court. ucsf integration plan to set to go into effect on july 6th. well, a dispute brewing now between blue shield of california and uc health. san francisco is largest medical center and it could disrupt healthcare for 10's of thousands of bay area. residents. that's if a negotiation isn't reached by july 10th city attorney david chiu and supervisor matt dorsey recently sent a letter urging blue shield to keep uc health in network meaning to keep providing services at pre negotiate a discount rates. they warned that cutting ties in the middle of the year could threatened care and breached contracts. talks are still ongoing. but if a new agreement isn't reached, ucsf

oakland international, that being the name they said to the judge. no, no, no, that we confuse people and the judge agreed back in november, which is why over the weekend, oakland international decided why don't we go ahead and start with oakland, san francisco bay international. get a chance to talk to some travelers this morning. here's their reaction to the name change again. they said facts, san francisco plan. >> bay area airport, but it would have been less confusing because i do think other people internationally may not know to let out. i'm really hoping that stays in business. it's great for the spate people. >> according to the port of oakland, they wanted to put san francisco bay first because there was a lot of confusion and they wanted people to know that oakland was in the bay area. san francisco being, of course, the marquis de city in the bay

it's also resulted in some unsettled weather. not so much for the bay area, but to our north. we have the potential of some dry lightning strikes this afternoon and into tomorrow afternoon. that includes the northern sierra and the northern coastal range is mostly north of clear lake itself. these areas will be under red flag warning starting at 11:00am this morning all the way through tomorrow evening. so something to note, especially just to the north of the bay area, 60's for your highs in the city today. we've got 60's at the coast, too elsewhere in the bay. it's 70's to 80's for most of our highs with a few 90's mixed in. we're going to see a lot more 90's just around the corner. so today, by comparison, is your cooler feeling one, even though still absolutely livermore and pleasanton at 90 degrees today. same in concord while berkeley, richmond oakland in the upper 60's inland areas of solano county, like vacaville reaching into the mid 90's while santa rosa at 77 for your high. let's look ahead in next 7 days. tomorrow's temperatures a little warmer

on average and wednesday will be ever so slightly. the warmest day, at least for inland areas. 4th of july is in sight now and friday looks to be a good one for getting outside and enjoying the holiday with the fan, all right, john. >> about 14 minutes. stay here. while you're cemetery bridges at 13 year, richmond center fell 14 and the golden gate bridge. 19 minutes. >> back to the headlines now 6.19 plan to bring solano county sheriff deputies into filet o to ease police staffing shortages is now in limbo. that's a lot of county board of supervisors delayed a vote until july 22nd despite emotional pleas from the layer residents and its leaders, the agreement would have sent 25 deputies to parts of toledo aiming to cut response times in half. but union pushed back patrol car delays and retirement system warning have thrown the plan into doubt. now, just months before it was set to launch in january of 2026. police officials have

not yet said how long they expect this delay to last. well, police officers are investigating a shooting that injured a 38 year-old man saturday night. officers responded just before 09:00pm to terrace view avenue where they found the victim with at least one gunshot wound. he was taken to the hospital. he is expected to survive. police are now asking anyone with information on what happened to please reach out. >> santa rosa police arrested 42 year-old man saturday after he allegedly fired a modified shotgun inside his apartment. the blast went to a wall, but luckily it didn't hurt anybody. police are saying it. jonathan saint john, who was onrobation and also barred from having weapons tried to but he was later caught. the search of his home turned up a homemade pistol knives, suspected fentanyl and even a grenade. he's now in jail on multiple charges with bail set at $31,000. in sonoma county. one person is dead after a crashed into a tree. this happened saturday night really close to midnight on river road. your fellows park road.

it's unclear what caused the driver to collide with that tree. the crash is still under investigation. >> well, in the south bay pedestrian now is being treated for life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car saturday in san jose. it happened around 06:30am in the morning. the woman was struck by a sedan while walking near west taylor and spring streets. the driver called 9-1-1 to take her to the hospital and stayed on scene with police. no update yet on that woman's condition. meanwhile, in the north bay, thanks to advancements in dna technology, the nevada police department was able to identify 3 suspects. now in the 2017 unsolved rape case. officers arrested 2 suspects identified as 33 year-old gilson de leon gamal san first sandra fell and 27 year-old miguel cruz ravelo of nevada. the 3rd suspect identified as 30 year-old fernando mendoza. cruz of nevada is still at large. officials believe that mendoza cruz is living in central california. a warrant is now out for his arrest.

>> a lot of jet moment kron, 4 news. >> 6.34 is the time north carolina senator thom tillis says that he will not seek reelection next year. and that's just a day after he publicly announced his opposition to president donald trump's bill. senator tillis is now speaking out against the bill saying that it will hurt americans slamming the gop ease proposed medicaid cuts. >> when you rush a bill and you don't think through the implementation, you don't get it right. and saw hope that my colleagues recognize it's half banked. >> it's another reason why we should go back to the house. mark, get medicaid, right? so i could come on the floor and tell my colleagues on the other side of the aisle while they're wrong on all the attributes of the house. mark while they are wrong on some of their characterizations of the tax bill. and while they will be wrong energy policy, that makes sense.
