quickly ended in new jersey after authorities tracked down the suspect in tree bombings on the east coast. >> authorities say ahmed khan rahami was caught just a few hours ago. they got a call of a man seeping at a bar. when they got to the scene, they realized this was the man authorities were looking for. he pulled out a gun, fired at fortunately the police officer had a bulletproof vest. the suspect was taken to the hospital, three officers also taken to the hospital. the man hunt started after two explosions if -- in new york and a third in new jersey. police are seeking rahami, a

afghanistan. they were trying to figure out if the three bombings were connected. president obama spoke earlier. >> i know that the united nations meetings here every year already create an additional workload for new york, but given the u.n. meetings, we also have a particularly high level of federal resources here to help as needed. we are going to make sure that everybody is working together seamlessly as one team to get to the bottom of what happened, to find those responsible and to make sure that justice is done. working to figure out if their main suspect had any accomplices or possibly associates. >> so this is a story that is continuing to develop throughout the day. we'll be here on it for you. you can stick with fox 10 or follow any live coverage on, where you'll see our news now channel for

terrorism and conspiracy to commit terrorism. he went before a judge for just 15 seconds. in that time, the judge set another court date for november 15th for a status conference. khan is also accused of reaching out to a terror group for instructions on how to make a pressure cooker bomb. in mesa this morning, a scene unfolding at red mountain high school, the school put on lockdown for about an hour at the beginning of the school day after reports that there could have been a gun on campus. but after forcing that lockdown and investigating, police tell us electrifies never a gun there and the lockdown was rifted. a small plane crashed in gilbert over the weekend, did you see

on board that small plane when it came down. the sky divers taking part in gilbert's annual constitution fair. they were able to jump out of that plane before it it -- hit the ground, hit the home. the pilot suffered burns to his forearm but should recover. people are calling what happened a miracle because nobody was killed. image. a man was shot and killed late last night near the i-10 and guadalupe. there are little details to go on right now. investigators could release more information, though, at some point later today. a fox follow-up today as glendale police have identified the victim from a deadly shooting from over the weekend. early saturday morning, glendale police officers heard gunshots in the area of 67th avenue and glendale. when they got there, they found

who had been shot to death. witnesses pointed officers in the direction of two vehicles that left the scene. police eventually caught up with both cars and one of the passengers had a gunshot wound but is expected to be okay. while police investigate what took place here, they ask if you know anything, please call plies immediately. in the west valley in buckeye, authorities are investigating a fire at an old church. they think it may have been intentionally set. the fire broke and yuma roads. when firefighters got there, they say it had spread to the whole scene there, and there's no power in the building, which is why investigators now think this is suspicious. a local immigrants rights activist and so-called dreamer is about to start her own american dream. we talked to her. she became a citizen this morning. then the u.s. government somehow approves more than 800 immigrants to become citizens while they were on the

dulce started her activism at a.s.u. when prop 300 passed, she cofounded the arizona dream act coalition. >> i decided to become a citizen for a lot of reasons, and one of them is because i know there are 417,000 unregistered latino voters here in arizona, and i want to challenge them to register by the deadline of october 10th. i'm going to register today, and i hope they follow my example. >> who is she voting for? she says it won't be for the candidate building the wall. 800 immigrants, all from countries considered to be a national security threat to the u.s., all with pending deportation orders here.

through the overnight hours too. by the time we get to tomorrow, around this hour tomorrow, i think we'll have already seen showers and thunderstorms popping up across the state. so everyone has got a shot at it, and on we'll go through tuesday evening, still a possibility of rainfall, especially then in northern arizona. but i think we'll all get a chance at it right on into your wednesday as well. the clouds will stick with us perhaps into thursday. you can see there's still lots more to be had, even wednesday we'll still be seeing some rain across the baja. i think by friday and into the weekend, things will start to career out. we have at least got a sot for thefection a couple of case, 92 in yuma, 68 in prescott, 79 at show low. we love to see these noontime numbers, everybody under a hundred degrees, here across the valley, and mostly 90s out there for everybody. a quick look at the rest of the country, going to be another scorcher today in the big d, 98 degrees there, 94 in

live from fox studios, fox 10 news is back. well, the phones were just recalled last week, but samsung is already facing a lawsuit over its faulty galaxy note 7 phones. a florida man has become the first person to sue the company after he said he suffered severe burns to his leg with his phone just exploded in his pants pocket. samsung has received 92 reports of batteries overheating in the u.s. all galaxy note phone owners

phones and exchange them immediately. lyft is making some pretty bold predictions. in an editorial over the weekend, jon simmer predicting that all of the company's cars will be self-driving by 2021, also believing that normal cars will become obsolete by 2025. some once again took home the night's biggest awards. veep won best comedy series for the second year in a row with its star, julia louis-dreyfus taking her 51st award for best actor in a comedy. i believe that's a record. the winner for best drama series was "game of thrones," now the most honored show in emmy history.
