breaking news. the lights are still out at the paris hotel & casino hours after thousands of guests were evacuated. >> let's go right out to news 3's antonio castelan at the casino now. what is the latest? >> reporter: as we've been talking over here at the paris hotel & casino, the power is still out. there's no temporary power. it's not clear when power will be fully restored. this is video that was taken went out. this video shows total darkness inside the paris casino's main room. fire officials say around 9:45, they received 911 calls of a power outage. a contractor working in the casino cut a main power line. the mishap took down power to 2,000 rooms inside the hotel. firefighters had to free 11 people stuck in five different elevators. hotel guests say the evacuation

surfaced showing him drinking a body shot off one of his football players. >> john larson has the details. >> reporter: this is the video in question. you can see this football coach doing what's known as a body shot. his attorney says it wasn't alcohol but rather maple syrup, part of a pancake award that was given to this student who had the most blocks during their october 14th one-time incident. the superintendent says it's important to note that whatever the outcome of this investigation is, the coach will still remain a teacher here at paso robles high school because the teacher and coaching contracts are different. the school district is investigating and in a statement said they are concerned about what occurred. our district takes concerns and allegations against a members of our staff seriously. >> it's a little weird, taking a

trial for what prosecutors say is the murder of scott. today, prosecutors told the jury that video captured at the scene didn't surface until several days after the shooting. they also say the video contradicts much of slager's police report. >> what michael slager did to walter scott was wrong. >> he physically and forcefully resisted to the extent that they were both fighting on the ou will show slager acted in self-defense and scott was responsible for escalating a routine traffic stop. an update on the two iowa officers killed this week in what authorities describe as ambush-style attacks. a 46-year-old iowa man has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in those attacks. the two officers were shot on wednesday while sitting in their patrol cars in separate incidents less than two miles

it's shaped up to be very nice. if you liked the weather today, you will like tomorrow and the next day and the next day. outside we're seeing clear skies in las vegas. temperatures checking in within a few neighborhoods. we're at 80 in the north las vegas area in comparison with 86 degrees at moapa. in the mid-50s in mount charleston. the rest of the valleys, 70s and 80s outside just after:00 th this afternoon. we did see the winds pick up earlier today. you could see not quite as windy as yesterday but enough for you to notice it's a little bit breezy out there. 57 degrees right now at mount charleston. upper 70s for pahrump. we're lingering in the 80s for overton, lake mead and upper 70s near boulder city. also seeing light to moderate winds. we'll continue to it diminish overnight. we're looking at temperatures as you are about to head home.

mid-70s expected by 7:00. mostly clear skies by 9:00. again, the winds will diminish. across southern nevada, not much is happening but our neighbors here in arizona are getting some light to isolated showers. you can see them developing right here from an upper level area of low pressure. us, we'll see very dry weather, at least over the next few days. fast forward into the weekend, you can see the showers clearing off that system moving east and out of our area. stillic conditions. high pressure will build in next week. that will keep our temperatures up significantly compared to where we're supposed to be with this fall-like weather. 62 degrees overnight. clearly not quite as cool as last night where we dropped down into the 50s. mostly clear skies are expected. 69 degrees at lake mead. upper 40s for pahrump. 40 degrees for mount charleston and 50 degrees for indian springs for the lows. highs tomorrow, low 80s for overton and lake mead.

well as mid-70s in primm as well. upper 70s for sandy valley. in las vegas, it will be another day packed with sunshine. look at that. hardly much change for our weather pattern. but it will feel nice. 80 degrees on the dot is what we're projecting. above normal for this time of year. nice winds are expected for the duration of the day. looking to the next few days, including your it's kind of a trend that we have going on here. don't forget to set your clocks back on sunday, one hour. breezes will pick up slightly on sunday. that will keep us from getting much warmer by the tail end of the weekend but the ridge of high pressure remaining strong at the beginning of the workweek with more 80s. ive feel -- i feel like we're going backwards.
