witnesses say that that man was in the apartment during the shooting. that apartment right here behind us. metro does say that man has warrants and they are holding him to see if he was involved in the shooting. they also tell us there's one woman in the apartment but they think she was staying there. she is not a suspect. police tell us when the 30-year-old hispanic man was shot, the same woman helped him out of the apartment but he died moments later. detectives said there were multiple handguns found at the once by a gunshot wound to the chest. police also tell us this does not appear to be a domestic dispute and could be gang-related because the victim has gang ties according to metro. as for the people who live in the area, they are concerned about violent crime. >> gangs and drugs and we'll be the ones who will suffer. i don't want my kids seeing me laying out in the alley behind

hearing based on quick decisions made by her trial judge. a north las vegas murder suspect caught on surveillance escaping from an interrogation room back in september, they've now linked him to two more murders according to police. he was recaptured two days after making that bold escape. north las vegas police video shows 25-year-old alonso perez getting out of handcuffs. police say bullet tests point to perez as a triple murderer. news 3's antonio castelan joins us live outside of the north las vegas police department with this >> reporter: reed, new details from the police report say that alonso perez did not know two of the victims. we did speak to some of the victims' family members. they say they still fear alonso perez. north las vegas police video shows the time 25-year-old alonso perez broke out of handcuffs inside an inteargation room and escaped. days later, he would be recaptured.

candelario duran, mohammed robinson and jeff johnson are all tied to alonso perez. this is what mohammed robinson's said at the time of perez's arrest. >> you will pay for this. >> reporter: north las vegas police say candelario duran was his first murder victim and johnson was the last. in mid-august, police found duran shot behind an apartment complex on said about her father's murder. >> he will always be in our hearts forever. i hope this person who did this to him, i want justice for this. >> reporter: police say the same night robinson was killed, perez shot jeff johnson, a father of four. this is when he was still in critical condition. detectives say on the night of the murder, johnson found perez at his friend's backyard.

chased him on his motorcycle and that's when perez fired two shots hitting johnson in the head. in the police report it says perez was high on meth when he committed his last two murders. reporting live, antonio castelan, news 3. >> thank you. well, an 11-year-old girl killed in an atv crash in arizona not far from bullhead city. the mohave county sheriff's department said the girl was on an atv with another girl when it crashed into a ditch and hit a the 11-year-old suffered internal injuries and died at the scene. authorities say it doesn't appear they were speeding. a local sportsbook is looking to cash in on video games. william hill has partnered with the downtown grand from casino to begin offering bets on profession tal video games tournaments. news 3's sergio avila is live from game works and this is reaching new heights. >> reporter: for the first time,

shoppers are increasing by the hour, searching for those best black friday deals. crowds of people flooded the galleria in search of the best deals. >> things i normally like that are on sale. >> reporter: they joined the estimated 970,000 black friday shoppers hitting the stores in our state according to the retail association of nevada. with her grandson but she reflected on a time when it wasn't soap hectic. >> it used to be that you stayed at home and did games. >> reporter: those days appear to be over as more than 15 stores opened at 6:00 p.m. on thanksgiving day. >> we started shopping at 3:00 a.m. >> reporter: increasing hours could be a factor why more are leaving home and coming out for the deals but are the deals worth it?

next storm that we're already tracking that's moving into the west coast but first we're going to look outside. you can see beautiful weather this evening. it's still chilly outside. we've basically seen clear skies the entire afternoon. pretty in pioche. mostly clear in pahrump this afternoon and, of course, a lot of sunshine at mount charleston. it will be a different picture by sunday night, though. also very calm conditions at lake mead and wall-to-wall sunshine in las vegas. you can't be mad at this weather. highs today, mid- to upper 60s, well above normal for this time of year. but those numbers are going to decrease significantly over the next few days. right now, we're mostly in the 50s around town and winds are fairly light in the valley at the moment. we're only coming in at 31 degrees at mount charleston. in the upper 40s for indian springs. low 50s for pahrump. wait until you see where the numbers go from there. a quick look at our friends

you can already see this storm from the pacific starting to clash into the coastline. already bringing some rainfall to the pacific northwest in northern california. for us, it's mostly been increased clouds to the north of us. but big changes can starting tomorrow night. here's what's happening. you can see the system bringing heavy rainfall along the california coastline continuing to move inland. up to 12 inches of snow is expected in parts of the sierra. on the highest peaks up to 2 feet. skiers and snowboarders across the sierra. as we get closer to our area, may see a dusting of snow as we make our way saturday night into sunday. we're also going to see some very strong winds from the system as it rips through our region. you can see it right there. most of the precipitation will be limited to the north of us. but we're still expecting a splash of showers by sunday. a few weather alerts to point out. we just have a wind advisory in

las vegas area for gusts up to 50 miles an hour. sustained winds between 25 and 35 miles an hour. this is happening saturday night into sunday afternoon. so right around noon is when this thing is going to expire on sunday. so we're basically in for a bumpy ride on saturday night. probably not going to sleep very well. overnight lows in the 30s. under clear skies in vegas. 43 for overton. 20s in mount charleston. if you liked outside -- temperatures outside today, plan on wearing what you wore today tomorrow. gusts reaching up to 30 miles an hour. increasing more into tomorrow. as we look ahead to the next few days, not only are we expecting the wind speeds to kick up saturday night into sunday, the chance of showers most likely expected to be on sunday early on in the morning to the late morning hours but also the

mid-60s which was what we saw today for most parts of vegas down to the mid-50s on sunday and the cooling trend is just going to continue as coast our way into the next workweek. >> thank you. it was a major mess last weekend when the southern beltway closed at the airport connector. the job was not quite completed. as tom hawley shows us, another closure is needed. >> reporter: this is the stretch of the beltway that was weekend. the idea was to put girders up and over the top and you don't want to be doing that when you have motorists down below. they did a pretty good. there's one small span at the end with a couple of girders missing. this monday night into tuesday morning, the last girder goes in place. right now they have it staged over to the side with the crane. so it's ready to go in. but in order to do that, they won't close down the freeway completely this time but the eastbound lanes of 215 shut down

that means coming from the west side of council, the clark county public works department suggesting exiting back as far as jones or decatur or las vegas boulevard, then take surface streets and you can re-enter the 215 at windmill or warm springs. you will be able to take this loop ramp that takes you into the airport connector. you just won't be able to take the 215 over the top. one more closure for gird kerr installation, then there will be later closures but the major freeway closures following one more monday night into tuesday morning. tom hawley reporting from sky 3. >> thank you. american mourns a tv icon. >> we'll look back on the life of one of the favorite tv moms, florence henderson. and the deals you can get
