metro tells us there was a drug- related home invasion in the afternoon. neighbors we spoke with say there have been drug-related problems at the home before. 00:40:28 dottie barron, neighbor "at my age, i don't get scared, no, because it was in a house down there where there have been problems before." dottie barron says she remembers about two years ago police were called to the home because two men were fighting. this time police say two men entered and shot another man.. him. two other people-- who live in the home-- were inside at the time. right now investigators are working to determine the relationship between the victim and the two suspects. a local family of two is looking for a new home this morning... after a fire in their garage forced them out. it happened near pueblo vista and vegas drive. look at this video las vegas fire and rescue sent us... you can see smoke and flames

late last night authorities found human remains in the area and they say it could possibly be that of the missing little girl. check out this body-cam video. it shows a team of florida deputies hunting down a suspect -- after a frightening home invasion. you can see here they catch up to him and arrest him. police say he tied up two women and threatened to shoot them if they tried to escape. it was all a ploy to score some the guy tried to conceal his identity but the two women recognized him. he's their landlord. they live in a trailer in his backyard. to next weekend, but conditions will remain sunny and calm. new this morning, a kansas police officer is recovering after being shot overnight. an officer were called to a robbery at a convenience store. they were able to catch up to the suspect, and that is when the gunfire started. the detective was shot in the leg and the stomach, but is expected to survive. the suspect was also shot and has life-thretening injuries.

before electiond day. 13 action news update on the south carolina woman found chained inside a storage container. police are confirming the owner of the property, todd kol-hepp, is in fact a serial killer. the body detectives found on the property has been identified as chris carver, the boyfriend of kala brown, the woman that was found alive. the sheriff of the town says notifying the carver's family was one of the hardest things :17 we had prayer with the family, you know we told the family and they are obviously heartbroken, you know i smile sometimes to keep from crying because this is this is horrible. :32 detectives say kala brown showed them parts of the property where she says more bodies are buried. police say the owner of the property confessed to a

back in 20-03, and may be responsible for atleast three more. right now doctors in washington state are desperately trying to find a link between eight children -- diagnosed with a rare syndrome. the children range in age from three to 14. they have a-f-m -- a rare polio-like illness -- that leaves many paralyzed. "these are children that develop significant weakness in an arm or leg often times in association with a common infectious symptoms, so fever, vomiting, diarrhea, a cold or a thing like that." like the flu. but doctors want to be clear they're not concerned so much about the vomitting -- or the fever. it's the sudden onset of weakness that has them worried. that is the specific symptom doctors want you to look out for. they say just because your kid has flu-like symptoms-- doesnt mean they have a-f-m. federal investigators are ruling out mechanical failure

-- in baltimore. now the school bus driver's family is coming forward -- saying glenn chappell should not have been behind the wheel. they say he suffered from seizures -- and took medicine to control them.
