have died in that civil war since it began six years ago. time is now 4:23. two u.s. soldiers were killed in afghanistan. it happened in eastern afghanistan on wednesday. u.s. army rangers joined afghan troops on a raid when they were attacked. we don't yet know the names of the two officers. the pentagon also says dozens of isis fighters were killed. now the commander of u.s. forces in afghanistan called the fight against isis important for the security of the world. but he also said and i'm quoting sadly it is not without sacrifice. well president trump heads to atlanta today to appear before the annual convention of the national rifle association. president trump will be the first sitting president to address the n ra since ronald reagan back in 1983. the guns rights group played a major role in the president's

election last november providing critical support in battle ground states. and polls show the president still has very strong support among members of the nra. >> just because trump's on our side. he's all about the little guy. so we're glad to have him. >> the secret service is telling those attending president trump's speech to the nra today that they must leave the guns outside. time is 4:25. united airlines reached a settlement with the 69-year-old doctor who was dragged off an overbooked flight earlier this month. that cellphone video shows dr. david dow being forced off the plane and the video immediately went viral. it led to outrage across the country. now both sides have agreed they're going to keep the semgtsment amount confidential. however, the united airlines said it was quote an ammicable resolution of that unfortunate incident. it's also led to united airlines

making several changes. they include limiting law enforcement to handling only safety and security measures and issues and also reducing the amount of overbookings. other changes include increasing customer compensation up to $10,000 for giving up a seat on the plane. establishing a customer solutions team providing a creative solution to high very intense conflicts. and no last-minute boarding for united flight crews. for now on they'll need to be booked onto a flight before a departure. another airline changed policies yesterday. last year it bumped 15,000 passengers. southwest ceo says the airline has been thinking about ending overbooking for a long time because there are fewer and fewer no-shows.
