your commute. finally here we'll show you a live look at interstate 880 in oakland and it is moving well in both directions. 4:43 the time right now. pam, back over to you. two young children are in the hospital in critical condition after a hit-and-run crash. the mother of the children was pushing them in a stroller across turner parkway last night. police say a car on turner parkway hit the stroller. the two-year-old boy and his three-year-old sister were thrown from the stroller. the mother was not hurt. witnesses say the car did not stop. it looked like a white acura t l. anyone with information is asked to call police. >> >> three people are in custody this morning accused in a deadly shooting at a fremont hotel on farewell drive. fremont police reached a 911 call saying a man was in the lobby suffering from a gunshot

wound. officers were on the scene just minutes later. >> officer responded because of the nature and located the victim. they could a firm the victim did have a gunshot wound and they began immediate medical attention on the victim. the victim was transported to a local trauma center. unfortunately the victim did end up succumbing to his injuries. investigators believe the 48-year-old victim was shot inside a hotel room. so far, there is no word of any possible motive but police say the victim knew the three suspects who were arrested last night. dozens of protesters were handcuffed and escorted out of a poultry processing facility in oakland. they were with the animal rights group and entered yesterday afternoon demanding the release of the animals. during the sit-in, they cited the animal cruelty law asking the city to seize the animals

and shut it down. demonstrators say secret camera footage shows animals being denied food and water in crowded cages. accused of attacking several people with an axe in switzerland and then took off in a stolen car. the teen then attacked more people at a gas station. police shot the teen and arrested him at the gas station. authorities say this was not a terrorism related incident. [crowd noise] hundreds and thousands of protesters took to the streets of barcelona, spain in a massive show of support for independence. the elected leaders joined the demonstrations. the government of spain wants to remove the separatist leaders and has called for new elections. the central government has threatened to use constitutional powers to take control of the region. former president jimmy

carter said he would be willing to foe to north korea on a diplomatic mission for president donald trump. he has traveled there in the past to meet with countries' leaders. he told the new york times he is afraid because of the current situation. tenses have escalated between north korea and many countries including the u.s. he called kim jong-un unpredictable and he said he believes north korea has advanced nuclear weaponry that can destroy the peninsula, japan and possibly some of the west coast. >> >> well, some of president donald trump's biggest donors are gathering this wick to raise money about future elections. the group is focusing on the 2018 and 2020 elections. the meeting is expected to include about a two dozen wealthy trump backers plotting the path toward the 2018 mid term races. donald trump, jr. is going to give remarks at the session. oil tycoon will host the

strategy session for a america first action superpac at his ranch tomorrow in texas. this week the public may get a first look at the top secret documents from the jfk investigation. they will release all files by october 26th which is thursday of this year. president donald trump announced on twitter he will allow the release of the classified materials. experts who studied kennedy's assassination do not think there are many things but some say there could be a cia study of oswald and testimony of former cia officers. the air force can bring back nearly 1,000 retired pilots whether they want to come back or not. president donald trump signed an executive order on friday to recall the pilots as a way to tackle the air force's pilot shortage. right now they need 1500 pilots

under a previous executive order, only 25 can be recalled. this temporarily removes that limit for up to three years. the sentencing hearing begins today for army sergeant bowe bergdahl. he said he left to draw attention to problems in his unit. but he says he got lost and captured and held by the taliban for five years. he did not strike a deal in exchange for his guilty plea. he faces a life sentence for endangering his fellow soldiers that searched for him. police are investigating a freeway shooting that happened. one person in the hospital after several cars were hit with bullets along a busy stretch of freeway. a rally in the north bay for fire relief. we'll take you inside just one of many events focused on helping communities rebuild. good morning to you. keeping an eye on a good
