desk. breaking overnight.. metro is investigating a deadly hit and run.. after a man was killed while walking down bruce near owens. the crash happened just before 10 last night. police say a red car hit the 37- year-old victim.. though the make and model are still unknown. they are still looking for the driver. no other injuries have been

a 4-year old girl is recovering in the hospital this morning.. after accidentally shooting herself near her throat. it happened last night in this home near craig and pecos. police say the gun was left unattended in a room where the little girl and 3 other kids were playing. her parents we home at the time. the family and neighbors are shaken and worried.. wondering how this could happen.. alice woolbright: why was the kid able to get a gun? guns should be locked up. because kids think guns are toys. rogers: if you have a save or a gun locker, or simple ways of storing a weapon, its really key for any gun owners out there. we're told the little girl is expected to be okay.. while 30-year-old shaletres townsend has been booked in the clark county detention center. she faces one count of child neglect with substantial bodily harm. it's a historic day here in las vegas-- the governor is set to sign the stadium bill... which could help push the n-f-l to

valley. fox5's peter dawson is live at unlv with what still needs to be done to bring the raiders to las vegas. governor sandoval will sign two bills into law later this morning here at unlv getting las vegas one step closer to our second professional sports franchise. assembly bill 1 will authorize clark county commission to raise the county sales tax by one- tenth of a percent point to fund 300 additional police officers. but its senate bill 1 that would increase clark county's hotel room tax by 1.4 percent and that tax would raise the $750 million dollars in public funds needed to help build the stadium and lure the oakland raiders to las vegas. the

vegas sands corp together would throw in just over a billion dollars completing the $1.9 billion dollars needed for the whole project. commissioner steve sisolak say this is a win for las vegas and job growth. "it's gonna put 24-25 thousand construction workers back to work, for several years building it. you'll get twelve thousand permanent jobs as a result of this. so i can't see why anyone would of be opposed to this frankly. the tax will be paid by tourist that are coming in from out of town." the raiders aren't packing up yet. owner mark davis has pled move the team but it's now in the hands of the 32 other nfl team owners. a three- fouths relocation approval vote will be the final hurdle. the owners are meeting in houston next week to sidcuss and a relocation vote will happen early next year. what would happen if the raiders don't move to southern nevada. the bill

this is fox5 news this morning. crews have gained the upper hand on the "little valley fire" burning in northern nevada. it started early friday morning between reno and carson city.. and burned about 34-hundred acres over the weekend.. destroying 22 homes. the fire is 55- percent contained this morning. while officials say rain has helped fire crews.. they are now concerned with flooding and the possibility of falling rocks. the cause of the fire is under investigation. a north las vegas firefighter was among 4 people added to the nevada firefighters' memorial in carson city this weekend. plaques for justin randall beebe, brent cooper, will hawkins and jacob o'malley became a part of the tribute to those who've lost their lives in the line of duty. the ceremony wrapped up national fire prevention week in nevada.

a california man is saving lives by moonlighting a member of the inalnd valley swat team. doctor michael neeki .. is one of only a handful of doctors across the country ... who serves as a certified volunteer on a swat team. in december he was working the emergency room at the arrowhead regional medical center when two terrorists struck in nearby san bernardino. 14 people died and 11 were injured. neeki says: "we need to be prepared for mass casualties, active shooter the future." green says: "it saves lives of not only victims and police officers and in the unfortunate situation where we did have to use lethal force or some type of force that resulted in injury it would allow us to provide that emergency medical treatment." doctor neeki is now working to spread the word about the need for more doctorsto join first responders across the country. a matchmaking company in japan... is taking a new approach to speed dating.

dawson is live at unlv with what still needs to be done to bring the raiders to las vegas. governor sandoval will sign two bills into law later this morning here at unlv getting las vegas one step closer to our second professional sports franchise. assembly bill 1 will authorize clark county commission to raise the county tenth of a percent point to fund 300 additional police officers. but its senate bill 1 that would increase clark county's hotel room tax by 1.4 percent and that tax would raise the $750 million dollars in public funds needed to help build the stadium and lure the oakland raiders to las vegas. the raiders and las vegas sands corp together would throw in just over a billion dollars completing the $1.9 billion dollars needed for the
