good morning i'm maria silva. i'm dave hall. now it's time to get a first look at your fox5 weather 24-7 forcast... cassandra jones joins us now. good morning i'm cassandra jones with fox5. it will be another sunny & warm day for veterans day with light breezes. we are looking at anothe degrees today. we are going for our 8th day this month with a high at or above 80 degrees. if we hit 80 that would tie the record for most days in november reaching 80. the current record of 8 days dates back to 1949. daytime highs will be in the upper 70s for the weekend. some more clouds roll into the area saturday, but we will keep it dry. skies stay mostly sunny sunday through tuesday with temperatures in the upper 70s. cooler air moves into the valley wednesday with high temperatures falling back into the upper low 70s. winds will also be gusty midweek. highs on thursday will only be in the low 60s. good morning.

for the public's help to solve a homeless man's murder. they say they dont want this to become another cold case. the man was shot thursday morning at las vegas boulevard and owens. police say he was lying against a fence when he was shot. he later died at u-m-c. this is the second homicide involving a homeless person in that area within the last month. police say they don't have any leads in this particular case. call crime stoppers at 702- 385-55-55 if you have any information. you can remain anonymous on that tipline and could be eligible for a cash reward. the man behind one of the most well known songs of our generation has passed away. has died at the age of 82. cohen is known for penning hits like "hallelujah" and "bird on a wire." he released his new album "you want it darker" just last month. a memorial for the singer will take place in los angeles. "real change begins with immediately repealing and replacing obamacare." now that donald trump is president-elect, the repeal of "obamacare" now seems like a viable option. president obama's affordable care act has struggled to find widespread public acceptance. but as manu raju reports, getting rid of the entire law would be a challenge.

the event raises money for the speedway children's charity among other local organizations. "its going to various children charity who are also helping children in need. funds grants go to summer camp cancer blood disease shoes and sock. and variety of programs through dance and so forth." the display will be open through january 7-th. it costs 20-bucks per car monday through thursday. on fridays, saturdays and sundays, admission is 30-bucks. ethel m chocolates' cactus garden is also getting in the festive spirit. the three-acre botanical garden is ready for the holidays. the garden features more than a half a million lights, including the cool meteor shower lights that make it look like its raining. there will be a ceremonial cactus garden lighting next tuesday, with a live
