passed through two senate committees friday -- meeting the funnel deadline. thth bill would allow first responders to carry and adminster the drug commonly known as narcan. to help explain what this all means -- kwwl's olivia mancino joins us live in the newsroom with the narcananis a drug that quite literally zaps the high away from the user. currently at the pre-hospital level, only paramedics can administer narcan-- but this b bll would allowowe-m-ts and police officees to also carrr it here's a look at an example of narcan--this is a nasal-spray type it also can be injected by an epi- pen or intraueneously if police officers or e-m-ts eventually carry narcan, they'll likely carry the nasal spray i spoke to jim cook, a paramedic at the cedar falls fire deparment for more than 20 years he says this bill comes at a good time, considering the heroin overdose problem in our state. police say tt woman told officers her foot slipped off the break and onto the gas pedal -- launching her car into the building's west wall. the car even hit tables where customers were sitting. police say nobody was seriously hurt. more than half a million iowans are waiting to hear whether the state's medicaid program will be switched to private companies. some state legislators say they're concerned -- including senate president -- pam jochum. kwwl's shirley descorbeth joins us live from dubuque with the details. shirley? well...the deadline is fast approaching. any day now, the fedeeal goverment will approve or deny this medicaid transition. i spoke with senator pam jochum about it...and she's not sure dubuque's north- end...iowa services. "we were hoping we would hear from cms this week." come march first -- iowa's medicaid program is slated to managed by three private companies. it's a move that will afct more than 500- thousand concerns on what they say i i a confusing and frustrating transition.

welcome back and good evening i'm meteorologiststyle kiel. reat tracker ii in the green over the next 48 hours. we will have increasing clouds tonight with a chance for a light rain and snow mix tomorrow morning as our net disturbance moves through the area. any accumulation would e light, if

have partly cloudy skies. temperatures will be okay, too. here are a look at the temperatures right now. we are in the 30s and 40s after highs in the 40s and 50s today. it sure felt much nicer out there today than it did yesterday. wind speeds have been out of the northwest between 5 and 15 miles per hour. these will eventually turn more north overnight and lighten upjust a bit. here's the satellite and radar showing lots of sunshine earlier today, but now we are seeing increasing clouds across the area this eveing. a wider view across the upper midwest shows our next area of disturbed weather off to our northwest. that will track southeast and bring us our next chance at wintry weather as we head into early

here's the storm track seven live weather network cameras. we have a pretty pleasant start to the evening as clouds are beginning to increase. here's a look at the storm tracks even future track. startin thth evening, the model is doing a pretty good job with the increasing clouds across the region. as we go through the overnight, those clouds will continue to thicken up. temperatures will only drop to the upper 20s and low 30s, which is well above average. by tomorrow morning, we will start to see the chance for snow, maybe a little mix track through the area. as this system moves closer, it will rununnto drier and and it will also be weakening, so anywhere that sees that chance for the
