This is a digitized audio containing pharmacy advertising clips from an in-store reel to reel tape that was played within a Kmart store in 1974. These were the days where the Kmart pharmacy was emerging and new.
Tom Schwarzrock provided this very rare tape to me so that it could be added to the archive collection.
Based on a discussion with Tom, this reel was played on a secondary reel to reel player within the store, on top of the regular audio reel to reel soundtrack. This tape was 45 minutes per side, and the first side had an announcement at the beginning, middle and end. The second side had an announcement only at the very end. I am unsure how this spacing was determined. The tape was in excellent condition. Note that the reel has a sticker indicating return -- so these tapes really had a hard life!

Curious about licenses
Hello, I absolutely love these and I am kinda new to this archive.org website.
I'm assuming these are strictly for non-commercial use, correct? I think it'd give an eerie feeling to a game I'm working on, but I'm not even sure you'd be the right guy to ask for permission considering what I've read in what you posted!
In any case, great upload - really love it.

Thanks for up loading these. You might check to see if there are low frequency "cue" tones on the tape which are generally used for machine automation, hence the spacing of the spots. The 1974 Reel 2 Reel has these tones on the end (20 & 25 Hz).
