Leyke Post Carrey ( 1908-2005) was born in Zhitomir, Ukraine . Her career was primarily in Yiddish radio in the Boston radio , although she acted in Yiddish theater and gave recitals all over New England and occasionally in New York . She was known for her warm voice , her communicative abilities and her charming personality. This song is by Maurice (Moyshe) Rauch and the talented accompanist was Reuben Osofsky a composer for the NY theater , arranger and eventually choir director at Kehilleth Israel in Brookline.
