This week hear the second in a four part series on the music of Sly & The Family Stone, brought to you in conjunction with www.slystonebook.com. This evening Luscombe chats with acclaimed drummer Greg Errico. Errico has worked with Santana, the Grateful Dead and the Jerry Garcia Band, but he is perhaps best known as the rhythmic backbone of Sly & The Family Stone. Here he recounts his remarkable experiences, from co-founding the Family Stone through Woodstock to his eventual departure from the band in the early 1970s. The album featured is A Whole New Thing, Sly & The Family Stone's debut album, released in 1967 on Epic/CBS Records. We will hear selections from a recent high-quality 180 gm vinyl re-release from Sundazed Records.
