11:34 am
announce the martydom of its secretary general in a brutal massacker by the israeli regime in gaza city. the movement vowed such killings will not weaken its commitment to resistance. the movement described sheikh asad abu shari as a key thinker who established the resistance group that inflicted heavy losses on the occupying forces. sheikh assad and his brother ahmad abu shariya along with over a dozen civilians were killed in an israeli strike in the sabra neighborhood of gaza city on saturday. hamas also extended its. dolences on the martidom condemning the israeli attack as part of a broader campaign of brutal massacers against civilians. the strike claimed the lives of at least 16 people, including six children and wounded 50 others while leaving 85 more trapped under the rubble. most of the victims came from sheikh assad's family. he was a leading figure in palestinian resistance, having survived multiple assassination attempts and lost most of his family in the ongoing war on gaza.

they used to be reluctant to weigh in, but now a growing number of comedians are raising their voices against the gaza genocide from v social media post to stand up sets, they risking industry backlash and sometimes even their careers to speak out against these really crimes. from london said has more in this report. for months, many comics known for taking on everything from power to politics, kept quiet about the israeli slaughter of palestinians in gaza. but that's changing. with the horrors of the past year and half, comedy is become... a battlefield of its own. britain still provides moral and practical support to israel while israel breaks international law. an increasing number of comedians are now punching through the noise in what's been described as a social media thunderclap, a sudden burst of posts, jokes
11:36 am
and emotional please challenging the narrative in mainstream media. comedians like tage hicky, whose palestine... modarity predates the gaza genocide, says the choice has always been clear. you've got two choices, you can either call it and risk your career or you can stay silent and risk losing your soul, so i feel like and the majority of people that i knock around with and i respect chose to put their soul ahead of their career. the risks are real. tyg has already seen bookings dry up, others report shadow bans and silence from streaming platforms. still more comedians are joining in, to them, comedy can't stay neutral. your comedy is always political in some regard, it's either upholding the system or it's challenging the system. i've never made comedy that wasn't provocative. i think that's what satire does at its very best, so when people ask me
11:37 am
to stick to the comedy, i'm not sure what they're asking me to do. if they're asking me to tell them a few knock-knock jokes, then i will tell them a few knock-knock jokes once they get up off their ass and do something about the ongoing genocide that's going on right now on our phones live streamed. that sentiment is also shared by comedians beyond the uk, across the atlantic, in the united states, for example, palestinian american comedian, amir zar, who has worked through zionist smears for decades, says comedians speaking about palestine is nothing new, and we've seen it in america for a long time, i mean jon stewart was doing that on the daily show for forever, and so it's nothing new, um, it's just that palestine has now become such a global phenomenon and a global topic. that um more artists are putting it in what they do and comedians among them and that should come as no surprise anybody. while some risk everything though, others are still sitting on the fence. is that it's your job to tell the truth? that that's what
11:38 am
comedy is. comedy is always about you, you always hear somebody say it's funny cuuse it's true, and so comedy has always been about telling the truth and protesting against ridiculous. power, and so if you're not doing that as comedian, you're not really practicing the art form. as crowds appload punch lines, infused with descent, the industry is being compelled to confront its longstanding silence, because while the comedy circuit once shied away from palestine, now it's leaning in. the world of comedy is changing, and through the parexisms of laughter, a new form of resistance is rising, more comedians are now speaking out against a... and genocide, regardless of the cost to them. press tv, london. israeli prime minister beniamin netanyahu is facing intense criticism over the rising death doll among the regime forces in gaza. now former military commanders are condemning his
11:39 am
handling of the war. gardy izen court, a former chief of staff the israeli army said the regime's leadership has failed to achieve anything since october 2023. says that there is no strategic plan for the battle and no political or military coordination and decisions on the gaza of war are made under political pressure. similarly dan halluts, another formative chief of staff said israeli forces are dying in gaza senselessly and without purpose. their comments came as israel is failed to achieve its objectives in gaza, including securing the release of the captives and dismantling the resistance through force. the rising israeli casualties have also intensified criticism. against netanyahu himself, his opponents argue that netanyahu is prolonging the war to delay his trial over a corruption and avoid political downfall. we earlier talked to our correspondent robert in lakish to get his viewpoint on the rising death doll among israeli forces in gaza. here's what he
11:40 am
had to say. israelis never actually attempted to engage with hamas properly, there are... few reports of special forces, raids and attempts to extract the prisoners that are held inside of gaza, but other than that, these are the exceptions and not the rule, the majority of... israel's ground war was sending its forces in a style which has not really been uh seen uh in other uh urban combat environments uh they put their forces with no infantry beside the tanks and armored personnel carriers in these heavily fortified uh vehicles these uh reinforced vehicles with lots of armor with the hope that if they get hit then they'll have injuries and the injuries will be dealt with. by their metavact uh system, which is quite uh complex uh and
11:41 am
functions very well, and so that was the their whole entire strategy, throw troops into an area, normally target a civilian complex such as a hospital, that's normally the end goal of each military operation, they never actually have operational control over any area they enter, and that's why you'll see that still in bet hanon or bait lahya in the north in areas where the israelis were supposed to have cleared everything and they they have operational control, they don't, because they never actually went in and fought hamas directly, they were so focused on the starvation policy, the israely military continues this violent raise on palestinian towns and villages across the occupied west bank, the attacks which have been in intensified since the beginning of the war in gaza have claimed the lives of more than 900 palestine. early we were joined by our correspondent in ramalahnak for more details about developments in the occupied bust bank. it is
11:42 am
nothing the heads of every palestinian that is living over here in the west bank as the settler attacks are relentlessly descending, it is actually escalating and more attacks are happening every hour. unfortunately palestinians are left to faith. those attacks and face these settlers with no, with no options, with no, with no anything, even silence, even the international community is being silenced, even the situation on the ground is extremely is extremely weak for the palestines over here, they are left to face these relentless attacks with their bare chest, and this is what is happening now as we are speaking in. example to the east of aqraba and to the north to the south of napolis, the palestinians are facing an attack by the israeli
11:43 am
settlers who have assaulted a family over there, stole a sheep, a sheep heard and tried to burn down a a house where the family was sleeping, this is something that is happening on the hour, not on every day, every hour we have new settler settler attacks, the settlers attacks. are are escalating, we are talking about more than 2000 documented attacks since the beginning of 2025, the us president has ordered 2,0 national guards to deploy in los angeles as it witnessed a second day of protest against immigration crackdown. "the move by donald trump comes as the pentagon has also warned
11:44 am
it could mobilize active duty forces to end the demonstrations in the city. los angeles police used tear gas and battons to disperse the protesters on saturday. they fought back hurling rocks and bottles at the offices. one of the rallies was held outside the detention center where immigrants arrested on friday away being kept. federal immigration agents have made 118 arrests this week so far. human rights organizations have condemned a raid saying federal agents lacked proper arrest warrants. california's governor has also denounced the raid as quote cruel. to occupy palestine, to expell palestinians from their homes and to kill them at will. they needed an excuse, so they called the land their own

homeland overnight, asuring in a dark chapter in the history of the world, but shall the owners of the land return home? welcome back, iran has acquired a wealth of strategic and sensitive intelligence from israel, including thousands of documents on its nuclear plans and facilities. that is, according to intelligence sources, sources said there was a media blackout due to the sheer volume of documents and they need to safely transport the entire shipment into iran and make sure that they have reached the intended locations. they say the abundance of documents is such that merely examining them and viewing the images and videos has taken a considerable amount of time. the operation has dealt
11:46 am
a significant blow to israel, exposing a major intelligence failure in safeguarding highly. sensitive information, israel maintains a so-called policy of nuclear opacity, but the regime is widely estimated to possess up to 400 nuclear warherts. earlier we asked journalists and political commentator said musas for his thoughts on iran's acquisition of sensitive israeli nuclear documents. yeah, i first picked up on this a couple of weeks ago and he actually. up, i think it was in a lot of zayat western, just quietly slipped in, but there were several israelis who had been picked up, arrested uh, because they'd been caught fundaling information to the islamic republic of iran, they didn't clarify what kind of information that was and what they'd been spying on, but certainly there seemed to be evidence that
11:47 am
they'd been taking videos and taking photographs of locations and it really was interesting because "the analysis that was given there, i don't know to what extent, it's true, but the kind of people that have been picked up were were people in israel who were a little bit down and out, they were essentially people who were grifters who were just kind of struggling at the at the peripheries of society, and it was very easy apparently to recruit these people, to essentially carry out espionage work, but they the way it was done is very, very intriguing." because they didn't actually even realize that they were being asked to do this by the the the islamic intelligence services, but i think the extent of it, the range of it is quite shocking, and i think it's a hugely significant move, because it shows iran's intelligence capability beyond you, its own borders of course it has to deal with zo american cyops and all

sorts of regime change efforts, but now you can do it abroad very easy. by the looks of things. iran has condemned the latest sanctions imposed by the us on tehran calling them approved to washington's profound hostility towards the iranian nation. foren ministry spokesman ismail bagai said the fresh bands are an extension of the inhumane and failed policy of maximum pressure against iranians. he said us sanctions are not only illegal but also in blatant violation of the norms and principles of international law. the spokesman. that the sanctions are designed to violate the most basic rights of iranians, but we only boost the determination of the country to defend its legitimate rights and interests in the face of america's excessive demands. his remarks came after the us announced new sanctions targeting over 30 individuals and entities it described as part of iran's international

financial network. iran has also strongly condem the latest sanctions imposed by the us on four judges of the international criminal court. the foreign ministery spokesman said the move marks a new law, even for a system that is badly addicted to advancing its foreign policy through coersion and intimidation. ism bago added that washington is sanctioning and harassing the world court's judges and personnel for holding up their judicial mandate. he said the us is abusing its power even in the us security council to ensure maximum impunity for israel's. atrocities and ethnic cleansing in the occupied palestine. bagai noted that such measures make the us the most persistent accomplice in the israeli regime's horrifying crimes of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. he called on the international community to stand up against such barbarism that is shaking the whole fabric of international law and unsettling the basic tenants of humanity. political analyst rick sterling was with us.

earlier, he says the trump administration fears that the international criminal court will uncover evidence of israel's war crimes, the complicity of the united states with israel is as solid as cement, and the they're going to the point of trying to bully the international criminal court by imposing sanctions on four judges. back in february, the trump administ. administration is afraid of is that the criminal court will look at the evidence and make the obvious determination that um that war crimes are being committed. you've even got a

former prime minister of israel to just last week he was admitting that israel is committing war crimes, so the united states is imposing sanctions willy nearly around the world and um uh it's it's more and more plain that sadly, very sadly, the united states is descending into into a rogue state, it's an interesting idea to if the world could get together and do some kind of pushback, do some kind of punishment of the united, the united states and israel, that seems like good idea to me. in comments made earlier this speak, the president of the international committee of the red cross described the situation. in gaza is becoming worse than hell on earth. in paris, on saturday, protesters echoed that sentiment and accused their government of continuing to provide military assistance to

israel, even though the humanitarian situation in gaza remains diam. peter humy reports. it's been two weeks since the leaders of germany, britain and france condemned israel's actions in gaza, and yet protesters at a paris rally on saturday. that nothing has been done to halt the onslot on the besieg territory. they say there's been no concrete action, just words, words and more words. to stop genocide, the they they must disrupt the diplomatic relation with with israel, they must stop all the selling of arms and france still continue to sell arms, about what they do as speeches at saturday's rally suggested, french companies, including the arms manufacturer tales continue to supply equipment for israel's war machine. invoices published

by a french investigative journalism website reveal what they claim are sales of operational support and guidance systems for armed drones worth two million euros. israel has regularly used drones to target gaza, resulting in thousands of civilian casualties. french authorities. are accused of maintaining double standards denouncing the deaths of gaza civilians while profiting from arm sales to israel. protesters contend that president emmanuel macron's concern for the fate of the population in gaza rings hollow and amounts to little more than crocodile tears. this is worse than crocodile tears because this this is a comedian, this is all comedians. they are not supposed to to talk like that and do nothing, because we have the europe.

citizens are demanding an end to the genocide, the government hesitates and now, after so many deaths in palestine, it claims these losses have become unacceptable. i strongly object, why were 30,00 or 50,000 palestinian victims ever acceptable? only now are they realizing the situation is unacceptable. we are here to call for an immediate cease fire and the release of all captives. we demand the unblocking of humanit.
