I was expecting this one to be ultra-low-budget, so-bad-it's-good schlock. So it was a surprise to find it's a real movie with a fairly large cast and at least a hundred extras. The canoe rentals alone must have cost a fortune. Does this mean it's good? Well, no. It's a none-too-exciting jungle yarn with Nazi agents tossed into the tepid mix, not to mention it's based on a complete misunderstanding of Charles Darwin's work. But worst of all, the poor guy in the white gorilla suit doesn't even get to pound his chest in earnest until the last five minutes. And I had such low hopes. (sigh)
