Whalen's Brilliant Lecture on Virginia Woolf
This class on Virginia Woolf's significance has just the right amount of bio, analysis, and samples. I was stunned and often moved to tears. Whalen's perceptual and intellectual skills and sensitivity to Woolf's formalism were awesome. I'm not sure of the final evaluation of "weight" he attributes to nature, things and relationships in Woolf, but, certainly he rightly saw how they all mattered and were essential elements in her writing. For anyone interested in new forms and hybrids, this is an essential lecture. Thank you, Naropa and likely Anne Waldman, for your gift to the world. Christy Sheffield Sanford
