Movie trailers are, at their core, just another form of advertising. They serve to get us excited about seeing the next blockbuster,  remind us that a new favorite is coming to DVD, or entice us into tracking down an opus we’ve never seen before.  And putting trailers into the Archive amounts to free advertising for these films.

In that spirit, I offer “Trailerama,” culled from my DVD collection. It includes come-ons for mega-budget flicks, no-budget labors of love, and the usual dose of pure cinematic schlock.

Arabic numbers (1, 2, 3) in the title indicate multiple trailers for the same movie; Roman numerals (I, II, III) indicate separate trailers for movies in a series (the three installments of “Back to the Future,” for example). I included dates where I know of multiple movies with the same title.
