November 23 or 24, 1958 (sources contradict the actual date), comedian Harry Einstein performed at a Friars Club sponsored Roast of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. The recording was made at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The toastmaster was Art Linkletter. Harry Einstein was known for his character Parkyakarkas on The Eddie Cantor Show. He is also famous as the father of comedian Albert Brooks, actor Bob Einstein, lawyer Clifford Einstein and author Charles Einstein. As Art Linkletter took back the podium to wonder why Harry Einstein isn't seen more often in prime time, Einstein collapsed at his seat on the dais and died.

Additional Story
I remember when they realized that Harry Einstein was dying, Milton Berle signaled for Tony Martin to sing the next song and it was "There's No Tomorrow".

Desi's famous laugh
In addition to all of the irony surrounding this event and sudden death of Harry Einstein, you can easily hear that famous laugh of Desi Arnaz. So has anybody asked Albert Brooks why his father was never on prime time tv?

To Answer stolengood's question
stolengood wrote "Just wondering, did the disc end right at that point, right before Harry Einstein died, or did you cut the bit where he did? If it wasn't there originally, surely it must have been recorded but left out -- probably so as not to spoil the mood.
A morbid thought, but one wonders if it's still out there. :-( "
Remember, Art Linkletter was the last person to speak when he passed. The last thing on this recording is Art Linkletter saying , "Every time he finishes, I ask myself, why isn't he on the air in a prime time?" Einstein turned to Milton Berle, who was seated next to him on the dais, and said, "Yeah, how come?"—then slumped into his lap. Berle yelled out "is there a doctor in the house?" and that was it, really. No point in hearing the panic or worry. What is on this disc is it, really.

Why isn't he prime time?
A man with a dry sense of humor, excellent sense of timing and delivery who so impressed his friar club peers that they wondered, why isn't he on the air prime time? This is well worth the listen, not very long and will bring a smile.
