people have been shot outside a block.ecl) and word did come overnight that he has now been arrested, formally accused in a disturbing string of incidents. take a look at this video. this is 37-year-old greg boyden of the bronx. he is now facing a laundry list

touching, public lewdness and three counts of sexual abuse. starting in august boyden is accused of targeting teenage boys, in some cases offering them money to help him carry his bags. the victims range from age from 12 to 15. surveillance video of the suspect was released and had many residents in this area on edge especially since there are three schools in this neighborhood near this park. teachers talked about their fear. >> it scares me as a teacher in the community and especially because of all the kids, you know, we see them every day for their safety we just want them to be safe. >> now before his arrest there were three known incidents that he was linked to, but after his arrest we've now learned about a fourth incident in which boyden allegedly texted a 13- year-old boy some kind of lewd picture and also offered him money for sex as well. reporting live in the bronx, rob powers channel 7 eyewitness news. 4:33.

we have breaking news in new jersey, several people are recovering after someone opened fire outside a home in elizabeth. four men were shot in the arms and legs and are being treated injuries. investigators say the shooter fired shots just after no arrests have been made. on long island an ambulance and the prisoner accused of taking it are back where they belong this morning. suffolk county police say melena sillsby. sillsbi now back in custody. a funeral will be held today for the hospital employee found dead inside a bathroom at montefiore medical center. friends and family gathered last night in the bronx for anthony iuso's wake. he was found five days later locked inside a public restroom

in the hospital. the investigation into his death continues. his funeral will be held this morning at st. francis xavier church. flags will be flown at half- staff in paterson to honor a soldier killed in train. kevin rodriguez died after being shot during a training exercise at fort campbell in kentucky. it happened on tuesday. his death is considered an accident. a wake will be held for the paterson native sunday afternoon. rodriguez's funeral is scheduled for monday morning. 4:35. today bill cosby will give his deposition after being accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl at the playboy mansion. a judge ruled the deposition will be sealed at least through december. cosby is being sued by a woman who says the comedian mried her with alcohol and sexually abused her when she was only 15 years old.

in the last year 15 women have accused cosby of rape. police have released a picture of two people they want to talk to in connection with a stabbing that american hero in the french train attack. police in california want to identify the two men believed to be involved in the stabbing of stone is in serious condition after the attacks. surveillance video shows stone in his hometown of sacramento fighting with several people outside a bar. >> he underwent surgery and was unit. while he has sustained extensive injuries, we anticipate he will make a full recovery. fans. the mets begin their playoff series with the dodgers in los angeles. the team's first post season game in nine years. eyewitness news reporter mallory hoff is live at citi field with the tough story, more on what's at stake.

here, pride and so much more. the team has not played a playoff game since 2006. the team's been on the west coast since wednesday. take a look at this video. the national league east champs hit the field at dodgers stadium yesterday to try to work off some rust. neither team has played since sunday. the mets and dodgers faced off last time new york was in the playoffs. the mets swept l. a. in the '06 series. tonight starting pitcher jacob degrom was in high school during that series. he's thrilled to be on the mound. >> when our pitching staff, when they told me i had game 1 i was really honored and to maybe be able to go two games this series. i was honored about that. i don't know. i'm excited about it though. >> reporter: the first pitch is scheduled for 9:45 tonight.

temperatures 63 degrees and we're looking at a muggy morning. you walk outside, you'll feel that humidity and in some spots there's a little fog. it's really warm. we're going to be looking at showers and thunderstorms that are off to our west. today certainly not a washout by any means. we are going to be looking at showers, lines of showers and thunderstorms coming through this afternoon. we're at 70 to 72 by noontime. we're going to get to 78 this afternoon, 12 degrees warmer than normal, i should say, and these showers and thunderstorms will be through the evening commute and into tonight. we'll talk more about that next and how your weekend is shaping up in the accuweather seven-day forecast. talking about mass transit, all kinds of stuff this morning. >> good morning bill, good morning everybody. over on the a trains some overnight track work just wrapping up. we're going to keep an eye on that for you. metro north, new haven line opposite side boarding, west haven, strafford and milford stations with track work.

welcome back, federal regulators are heading to the scene of a deadly natural gas explosion on the gulf coast. three workers were killed, two others seriously hurt by yesterday's pipeline blast in gibson louisiana. the facility is owned by subsidiary of major natural gas supplier williams partners. the company says no gas was flowing through the pipeline at the time of the explosion. south carolina governor nikki haley is urging residents

in numerous coastal communities to evacuate. more flooding is expected as earlier storm waters flow down swollen rivers toward the ocean. haley saying that thousands of people in georgetown, polly's island and james town should strongly consider evacuating. she's also asking folks to convince relatives in the area to leave. >> i know you've lived there a long time. i know that all your belongings are there. i know you might have been through weather related issues before. this is different. i know the sun is shining and the wind's not blowing, and the rain isn't coming down, but the floods are, and you are going to see that not only does the water rise, but it will rise and stay for up to 12 days. >> hopefully they listen to her and at least 14 dams have failed and five to six dozen more are threatening to burst. >> we've gotten some twitter and e-mails and whatnot from people in that area saying what a mess it is. it's so so sad for them. 4:44 is our time. meteorologist bill evans with

the exclusive accuweather forecast. >> lori worked in charleston where they've had a massive amount of flooding around that beautiful town. that's been really terrible. 20 inches of rain. it takes a long time for that to run off. we're looking down the beach, the convention center down the boardwalk, a really pretty morning. see all the way down toward point pleasant beach and belmar. a pretty morning. low clouds here. the clouds are right at the tops of buildings. this is from overnight. we've got patchy fog in parts of the tri-state, up the hudson river valley in northern new jersey. 63 degrees, the humidity high, 81%. a little southwest wind. the pressure falling. a cold front is approaching from the west. yesterday's high was 72. normal 66. so we're going to be looking at temperatures today, even warmer. 12 degrees warmer than yesterday, and 10 degrees warmer than yesterday, 12 degrees warmer than normal. by afternoon we'll hit 78. sun's up at 7:00. we'll have a mixture of sun and clouds. the rain comes late today with

lines of showers mainly starting around right after school. 2, 3:00, and then in the first part of tonight. and then overnight we're going to clear out. we've got a nice crisp fall day for saturday after a summer feel for the day today. it's 54 in kingston and poughkeepsie. it should be about 43. it's really warm, even up the hudson river valley, white plains, rocklin county, 59 down the jersey shore. here's that southerly wind to a southwest wind we're talking about. that's really pumping up the moisture. see the wind profiles coming up. that's all that warm air surging up ahead of this front. the showers and thunderstorms are now from syracuse down to pittsburgh. that will slide eastward. you'll have travel delays if you're going to detroit, pittsburgh. the showers and thunderstorms start to get into upstate running throughout the hudson river valley and western new jersey at 3:00. then you see it sweeps through pretty quick for 5:00. it hits the city, coastal connecticut here fairfield

county and down towards trenton and 6, 7:00 that's through the area. that's very fast so that we clear out tonight. it's like a good old springtime cold front. we have this thunder threat this afternoon from about 3:00 until about 9:00 and then this high pressure ridge builds in and gives us beautiful weather coming up for the weekend. sun breaks and warm. 78 rain and a thunderstorm this afternoon. for the first part of tonight and then overnight it's clearing and it's cooler. 56. tomorrow and the weekend is great. sunny and breezy and cooler. tomorrow's a beauty of a day. 65, and you'll see on sunday, sunday, sunday in our accuweather seven-day forecast, it's 68 warming up to 72 by monday. >> that's pretty darn nice. >> mm-hmm. we'll take it. >> just grab the umbrella, take it with you. you'll need it later on today. >> we have big problems on sunrise highway. how's this happening at 4:47. >> people going a little too quickly at this hour.

we'll go right to the map and tell you what's happening. sunrise highway westbound subject to closure with an accident still being cleared. we'll keep an eye on that. 1 and 2 trains overnight track work being cleared. metro north, lirr, new jersey transit on time, new haven line some on going construction and opposite side boarding. if you're heading to the rfk bridge, the manhattan span closed until 5. they're doing some test lifting at the rfk. throgs neck and the whitestone bridges still moving smoothly. harlem river driver northbound. we're going to take a look at the outer bridge crossing into new jersey at some ongoing construction. watch for delays. let's go outside. i'll show you the outer bridge crossing into jersey, watch for construction. bayonne bridge has construction as well. let's go to our other camera. the inbound george washington bridge, overnight construction just cleared away. traffic is moving a lot better at the george washington

lincoln and holland still moving slowly. thank you. it's 4:48 and we are learning more about the driver of the fiery crash on the new jersey turnpike killed when his tanker truck overturned and burst into flames as you can see on this video. jsk transport says kumar lived in newark. he worked for the trucking company in the lastnine months. he crashed wednesday in kearny after swerving in order to avoid mattresses that had vehicle. that driver stayed on the scene, has not been charged. 4:49, and five new york firefighters are hurt battling flames in an apartment building. the fire started last night at about 8:30 in a building on 163rd street in the longwood section. officials say the three-alarm blaze started between the top floor and the roof and quickly spread. all the residents made it out safely.

about 10 to 15 people may need to relocate. the injured firefighters were not seriously hurt, and the fire is under investigation. a california commission votes to give more room to some of seaworld's largest residents, $100 million expansion has been approved to triple the size of the tanks that hold the entertainment park's killer whales. they banned seaworld from breeding captive orcas. the deal isn't enough. they want the whales released into the wild. >> captive orcas are heavily medicated. they are treated for ulcers countless. >> they live long and sometimes longer than killer whales in the wild. >> a 2013 documentation said the treatment of orcas leads to violent behavior. a group of high school football players in michigan is inspiring the community to pay it forward. >> the players didn't mean to start the chain of kindness that touched the lives of dozens of people.

they were eating dinner tuesday night. when they went to pay the bill they were told don't worry about it. an anonymous man took care of it. the teens decided they were going to pool their money and pay for another table's meal. >> we decided to pass it forward. >> we were very proud, especially because they were young boys. you don't hear younger generations doing that so much. it made us really happy. >> how cool is that. the cafe's owners say the chain continued long after the boys were done with their meal. in total get this, 30 tables took part in what started as a random act of kindness. >> that is so nice. what a treat. >> bike riders are ready to hop on board. a new bike sharing program. coming up on eyewitness news this morning, officials prepare to jump start the program in hoboken. >> also ahead an off-duty nypd

truck on a long island expressway yesterday afternoon. the driver was trapped behind the wheel as the bus burst into flames. the officer christopher canali pulled out the driver, then went back and rescued the adult passenger. no one was seriously hurt. time is 4:55. we check in with meteorologist bill evans and the weekend accuweather forecast. >> well, here we go. i want to show you the radar this morning because there's rain in the western part of the state that is starting to slide eastward now. this is from upstate new york syracuse down to detroit and pittsburgh. going to have some delays there with that line of showers and rain. that's coming to us later today after lunch time today. 59 at morristown, new brunswick 358, 58 down the jersey shore. low 60s right now. the normal temperature this hour of the day is way, way cooler than that. we're talking about normally we're going to be looking at about 50s for these temperatures here in these overnight hours.

a home shooting several people. this happening just after midnight on julia street in elizabeth. four men are at the hospital now being treated for nonlife- threatening injuries. no arrests have been made. and new overnight, the search for a sexual predator in the bronx is over with the arrest of a 37-year-old man. >> police are saying that he lured boys into a park, then forcibly touched them. eyewitness news reporter rob rob is live in edenwald with the story. >> reporter: good morning ken. the suspect allegedly has been targeting young boys at this park behind me for now more than two months, ask overnight police say they finally nabbed him. this is 37-year-old greg boyden who lives here in the bronx. he's now facing a long list of charges including forcible touching and sexual abuse. the incidents began back in august in seaten falls.

kidnapping a 17-year-old girl who made quite the daring escape. the car used in the abduction was found yesterday in new haven leading police to identify a suspect. they are hopeful they'll be able to make an arrest soon. video capturing the teen making the bold escape tumbling from the moving vehicle monday after the woman allegedly lured her and assaulted her. the u.s. navy says it will try to find the sunken cargo ship el faro and raise it from the ocean floor 3 miles down. two of the 33 people lost on the ship were from new york, and there was a vigil for one of them last night on long island. howard schoenly was from east rock away in nassau county. >> i don't think it's really hit us so much yet. it's been a really tough week. >> the only thing that i feel in my heart was that he was -- you know, you see what he enjoyed most. >> schoenly was the second engineer aboard the el faro. investigators are hoping to

it could help explain why the ship's engines failed during a hurricane. today president obama will travel to oregon to visit with the families whose loved ones were gunned down at a community college. the president spoke out immediately after last night's shooting calling for changes to gun laws. >> nine people were killed, several others were hurt before the suspected gunman killed himself. gun rights supporters are expected to protest today's visit. 5:06. republican lawmakers will meet today to discuss who will become the next speaker of the house after the leading candidate took himself out of the running. california congressman kevin mccarthy announced his decision to step down from the race yesterday hours before the vote. this comes after speaker john boehner shocked the party with his decision to step down by the end of the month. mccarthy says republicans need a fresh face that will unite the gop. >> it was a very honorable thing to do. i think he recognized and

this is 37-year-old greg boyden. he lives here in the bronx facing a long list of charges including forcible touching and sexual abuse. police nabbed him for a string of sexual incidents targeting teenage boys ages 12 to 15 that happened here at seton falls park in the bronx. he has been formally linked to four different incidents. the news will surely come as a big relief to teachers in three schools in the area. the community and especially because of all the kids, you know, we see them every day for their safety. we just want them to be safe. >> >> reporter: now before this arrest, we were aware of three incidents, but now we have learned also of a fourth incident in which boyden allegedly texted a lewd picture to a 13-year-old boy and then even called him and offered him money for sex. reporting live in the bronx, rob nelson, channel 7
