don, katie, everything is really looking great., but as you can see it's quiet. let's give you a closer look - the roads are clear for the most part - there's a light dusting of snow on the grass - that's all about - nothing really to be alarmed about this morning. as you head out the door this morning, you may notice a light coat of snow on your car if it was parked when windshields , so it should come off very easily, even in the freezing temperatures this morning. in virginia beach, public work crews prepped the roads overnight for drivers - trying to get ahead of what's to come next. other cities from the peninsula to the southside have crews out assessing the

officer convicted of sexually assaulting more than a dozen women is expected to be in court for sentencing. you're looking at daniel holtzclaw when he learned about his conviction last month. he raped and sexually assaulted 13 african american women while on duty. a jury recommended a sentence that totaled more than 260 years. before deciding on that today, a judge will also decide on a motion for a new trial. hampton university took actor and comedian bill cosby off its board of trustees. this follows similar actions at several universities that used to be affilated with cosby. he's been the target of dozens of sexual assault allegations dating back to the 19- 70s. cosby also faces criminal charges for a 2004 case. happening today, a big weather. the u-s-n-s patuxent is scheduled to leave naval station norfolk this afternoon. this is video when the patuxent came home over holidays last year. civilian-crewed ship with about 100 on board, is a

fleet oiler that fuels other u-s navy ships when they're out at sea. the fbi and the military are investigating a bomb threat at a local military base. investigators closed gate 5 to joint expeditionary base little creek-fort story for several hours wednesday night. a base spokesman confirms someone found a suspicious package at the gate at shore drive and independence boulevard in virginia beach. fbi agents tells us they took a suspect into custody. as of last night, agents were still questioning that person. virginia beach police need your help to find the man they say robbed an oceanfront drug store. it happened yesterday at the walgreens on pacific avenue. officers say the suspect threatened to hurt employees. they say he grabbed drugs and ran towards 25th street. investigators think he may have robbed the same pharmacy around christmas. no one was hurt. suffolk police are looking two men they say robbed a woman. it happened tuesday afternoon outside the supreme park and shop on east

washington street. police say they pulled out a gun and stole her purse. the woman was not hurt. new this morning, a snowboarder could face criminal charges after he recorded himself triggering an avalanche. take a look at this video from a camera 29-yer-old christian mares was wearing on friday. he and his friends are at sugar bowl resort in california. you can see him get buried under the snow of the avalanche in this video. the resort says this is a very active avalanche area and is closed to the public. the resort also says mares's actions put himself, his friends, and the skiing public at risk. everyone is getting ready for winter weather this weekend. we're all watching the forecast, especially the airlines. with millions of people traveling this weekend, air carriers are preparing for the possibility of lots of delays and cancellations. american, southwest and delta have already issued travel waivers to

apologizing about a controversial facebook post he made about the dr. martin luther king, junior holiday. he urged drivers to run over black live matters protestors, then wrote on how to get away with it. that officer was on the st. paul police force for more than 20 years. 0-7 runs 7 (andrew henderson) "it's really concerning to me that someone would encourage violence on a day celebrating a man who taught peace." police say they are actively investigating the post. they say the officer's statement does not reflect the values of the entire department. right now, that officer is suspended. his attorney says he is aware of the investigation, and will let it play out before letting his client comment. frozen over. check out this video of an icy delaware river in philly. and this is nothing compared to what

this next video of the winter weather might give you chills. low temperatures in philadelphia froze over the delaware river. the mercury fell to into the 20s. this is just the beginning for folks in philly. the city is in the path of a major snow storm expected to hit this weekend. meteorologist jeremy wheeler's been talking about all morning. philly could see up to a foot of snow before the storm is finally over. emergency crews in wisconsin rescued a fisherman who fell through the ice. authorities say he was
