the storm victims. we've seen an outpouring of support for people who lost their homes in the storm. these images from chopper 10 really show the destruction. even though it'll take some time before everything is back to normal for the victims, clean-up is well underway - so many helping hands are already working hard to help the community move forward in this dark time. yesterday, local organizations and leaders collected donations for the storm victims. this morning, the red cross is planning to open a shelter today for the displaced residents. officials say about 30 people can't return to their homes. for the community, the destruction is still heartbreaking, but storm victims say the aid from volunteers is helping to ease their pain after the tragedy. c14 keesha giffen -- displaced resident 11:42:04 "just the damage and everything it's just unbelievable, the destruction that's around here but the red cross has stepped into help and they are helping the residents around

texas police released brand new video of a deadly confrontation between officers and a man with a machete! (don't air gunshot nats) it happened tuesday at a bus terminal in southeast houston. you can see the suspect in a ballcap and blue jacket, holding the weapon. they say he got angry when he missed his bus. officers say they repeatedly ordered him to put down the machete. the man became aggressive, and officers tried to calm him down. on the tape, disappear behind several cars just before police fire their guns. investigators have not released the man's name. a mother accused of murdering her son will go on trial this september. this is the first time we're seeing video of tonya slaton since state troopers say she left the body of her son, quincy davis, in the trunk of her vehicle last year. slaton heard her charges in hampton court yesterday. investigators indicted her earlier this month. a newport news police

new this morning, hampton police say a missing teenager is safe. 17-year-old jarrett ellis has been missing since last friday. investigators sent us a tweet late last night, saying he was back with his family. developing news out of portsmouth city council. members fined one of their own more than $1-thousand dollars, claiming he broke a controversial ordinance. danny meeks says he got in it, he discusses garbage disposal plans. mayor kenny wright says that was discussed in a closed session, meaning meeks should not have said anything to the media. meeks says that's not true. 10:40:59 "they said i took the information then when really i already had the information but i didnt have it timestamped and long or any trail because i had it before

today's a big day for soccer worldwide. leaders within fifa just approved reforms to curb the president's power and protect against corruption. they'll also vote for a new president. you're looking at video of delegates arriving at fifa's headquarters in zurich. prince ali of jordan is one of five candidates wanting to replace sepp blatter. you may remember blatter and other soccer officials stepped down amid investigations into widespread corruption. new this morning, the olympic organizing comittee for rio's summer games announced the route for the traditional torch relay. the torch will start its journey in the greek city of olmpia which is the home of the ancient olympic games. that beings april 21st. then, the olympic flame begins its journey in brazil in may. the torch will travel through 329 towns and cities over 95 days before reaching the opening ceremony at rio de janeiro's marcana
