there is some light snow out there. >> it is not a big deal. there could be a few slippery spots. this will not be a big deal. it will be on beyond snow -- ambient snow under way to work. something pretty to look up. if you're underneath one of those bands, you could see a coating in the next 15 or 20 minutes. today could be the warmest part of the day. 35 at the airport right now. i suspect we will wind up in the upper 20's by the time the drive home from work. and the wind will pick up with off and on periods of light snow or flurry. the wind chill will probably be in the teens today and the single digits tonight. first let's check on the roads. >> good morning.

it only takes a little bit of snow to cause some problems. there is an accident in aberdeen at old philadelphia road. police are directing. watch for that to impact your ride in the aberdeen area. in mount airy, there's a downed pole and it is blocking all lanes in both directions. so far so good on the major roadways. 52 on 95 toward the northeast. 37 on the north side. no problems to report on the west side. 12 minutes on the outer loop west side. nine minutes on 895 south. five minutes to get down towards the fort mchenry. this is the west side. volume is picking up. from liberty down towards security, that is where things are getting heavier. this is a traffic at the key bridge. the east side of the beltway is

looking good. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> thank you. >> two people are dead and 11 others were sickened. >> george lettis is live in towson with more on that story. >> officials here in towson have not released the names or ages of the two people who were poisoned to death. 11 people were sickened. the 91 call came in around 9:00 a.m. on sunday. two bodies were found on colby road. the level of carbon monoxide was high. eight other people in the home became a very sick. three police officers were also sickened. all were rushed to area hospitals. officials think the leak is connected to a gas furnace. >> it is very scary and it's very alarming and it's sad that sometimes it takes this kind of

thing for people to understand that it's not costly to go buy a carbon monoxide detector. and those type of things do save lives. >> if you develop any symptons -- lightheadedness, dizziness, certainly unconsciousness, get out of the house as quickly as possible and contact us via 911. >> officials tell us they did not find a detector in the home, which was being rented. live and baltimore county, george lettis, wbal-tv 11 news. >> the driver of a tractor- trailer carrying some dangerous chemicals continues to recover at shock trauma. route 50 needed to be shut down in both directions after the and pulledted a leakek over. no word this morning as to what leaking chemical was. >> a man accused oflowing up -- attempting to block a

baltimore recruitment office will be in court today. martinaez faces charges of attempted murder after trying to detonate what he thought was a bomb at the armed forces recruitment center last week. he is being held right now without bond. >> police are looking to whoever stabbed three people after a house party in edgewater got out of control. we're told a fight that began inside the house spilled out on the street. one stabbing victim was taken to shock trauma. he is expected to survive. police investigating a double shooting in west baltimore. officers responded to north franklin town road about 5:00 p.m. yesterday. a woman was found shot multiple times. she later died at shock trauma.

a man is in critical condition after stabbing -- after a stabbing in overlea. no word on the suspect or a possible motive. >> it is not clear what caused a fire in southwest baltimore. it happened before 6:00 a.m. on sunday morning on russell street. one renter spoke about the damage. >> somebody called me in the morning and somebody tell me about the bad news. i come in. you know, i'm scared because i got equipment, like for deejay. i want to see what happens. >> nobody was injured in the fire. is not clear how many storage units were damaged. there was a fire in glen bernie. flames broke out shortly before 1:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon in the four render block of mclarin

drive. it took crews about an hour to bring the fire under control. >> police have identified four people at the old center of an alleged dog-fighting ring. they are charged with narcotics. the four were arrested after a drug raid on edgemont avenue. police found six dogs beaten and malnourished and appeared to be involved in dogfighting. police say the investigation is ongoing. more than 100 dogs had to be rescued in calvert county. more than 50 firefighters helped rescue one of the 29 dogs. there were a total of 600 animals on that property. four dogs were killed in the fire. >> the tax-cut compromise is

again the focus in the nation's capital this morning. key votes are set for the measure this week. kate amara joins us live with that story. good morning. >> good morning. the senate is expected to take a test vote on the tax relief package today. the tax-cut compromise president obama worked out with congressional republicans is expected to come up for a vote in the senate today. the white house is confident the plan will pass by the end of the year. >> i don't think anybody wants to be responsible for taxes going up on january 1 because we could not come to a resolution. >> the controversial deal extends the bush-era tax cuts to everyone for two years and extends jobless benefits for another 13 months. but some house democrats remain opposed to new estate taxes in the plan. >> i think it's quite possible the tax cut extension will be passed, but not with my vote. >> republicans, who take over

the house next month, suggested it is take-it-or-leave-it. >> so if the democrats in the house scuttle this deal, that will be the first thing we do is prevent these job-killing tax increases and we will do it retroactively after the first of the year. >> democratic leaders in the house are expected to demand changes but say they won't block the bill. >> that doesn't help the economy. it hurts to deficit. and most importantly, you know the republicans did not insist on the estate tax being part of the central portion of this deal. >> despite loud complaints from some democrats, the plan is expected to pass. in washington, i'm kate amara reporting. >> what is the timeline looking like this week tax >> the senate is hoping to finish its work on the tax-cut package to mark and send it on to the house, which is expected to hold its vote this week. i know there are forests outside. i hope you have already been to the store for your milk, your

>> welcome back. 37 degrees downtown. there is some light snow to contend with this morning. this will not be a big deal. the could be some slippery spots in some neighborhoods, especially the roads are not treated. one band stretches up and down the 95 corridor into the city. it could drop enough snow to coach the ground. back into the southern port of carroll county. these bands upper will be with us and i think it will taper off this afternoon. the wind will pick up and the temperature will drop. let's check the current conditions. it is 35 at the airport. 33 in catonsville. 30 in westminster. that cold air will be rushed in from the northwest.

familiar as the weather gets colder perplexed deadly carbon monoxide gas killed two people and sent others to the hostel. george lettis has the story. >> officials here in towson have not released the names or ages of the people who were poisoned to death. we do know officials did not find a c-o detector in the home. the 911 call came in just before 9:00 a.m. sunday. two bodies were found inside this home on colby road in pikesville as a result of a huge carbon monoxide leak. >> did some monitoring with gas meters and found carbon monoxide levels close to 400 parts per million. the threshold that we're concerned with normally is 10 parts per million. >> eight other people in the home, including three children, became very sick from the deadly gas, which is often called a silent killer because you can't see it or smell it. they were rushed to the hospital along with three police officers who were also affected.

montgomery road around 10:30 friday night and was pronounced dead at the scene. >> i fire in cecil county has claimed the lives of two adults and two children. the fire -- the adults were in the 20's. one man escaped from the fire with minor burns. no word on what may have caused that fire. >> kevin kamenetz is optimistic he will bring changes to the county. five days into his term, he faced criticism on friday from residents who were not pleased with snow and ice on the street after the first snow of the season your number-one priority is to make sure to get the streets plowed and get the trash picked up. i understand that is a basic obligation of county government. >> he also mentioned his plan to

for the new year. the plan so far has been under wraps. the economy could be a factor. layoffs could be included in the budget forecast. >> dr. kevin maxwell will make public his budget in the next few days. >> we had furloughs two years ago. >> school officials have their fingers crossed, especially when it comes to possible furloughs or even layoffs. >> we're hoping we will not have to do that. we're trying to direct as much money to the classroom as we can with the limited resources we have. >> the school system make briefing planned construction projects and other will not put much stock in plant revenue from slots. education was at the center of a heated gambling debate this
