we do have an accident and paper mill road between phoenix and cooper road in the phoenix area. use extra caution. no promise on the rest of the major roadways. 10 minutes on southbound 95 from the beltway southwest to 32. eight minutes on the inner loop from 795 toward the 83's. this is it 95 at the fort mchenry. traffic is flowing on the flowingtube. tube. you can still use 895 as for all to appeared a bit of a delay at o'donnell. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> the search continues for a man responsible for frightening assault on the man working a highway speed camera. >> jennifer franciotti is live with more on this attack the shut down one of the busiest highways. >> the suspect attacked the
speed enforcement vehicle that was part of the southbound side near the bwi exit. this happened yesterday morning. the parkway was shut down for three hours in both directions. police searched suspicious vehicles for the suspect. a man was considered armed and dangerous. police say the camera operator was inside the vehicle at the time. the witness claimed the man approached the vehicle with a hammer and a shotgun. he told police the suspect began tapping on the back window with the shotgun. >> the witness was obviously frightened at that point and began blowing his horn. he said the individual then came to the front of the truck and began striking the front windshield with his hammer. >> the suspect is described as a white male in his 60's weighing approximately 150 pounds. he has gray hair and was last seen wearing a red and blue
plaid shirt and blue jeans. the camera operator was not hurt. he did say that the suspect fled into the nearby woods. hotels have surveillance cameras and they're being checked to see if they can get a good picture of this suspect. jennifer franciotti reporting. >> you can keep on top of breaking news by signing up for a text alerts on our website, wbaltv.com. >> a stabbing in a parking lot sends one man to the hospital and his son behind bars. witnesses saw the sun and his men arguing off route 40 just before 4:00 p.m. yesterday appeared the victim was rushed to bayview medical center with a stab wound to the chest. the son was arrested at the scene. police are investigating how a man's body was inside a truck inside the city impound lot.
this was on pulaski how we knew the city county line. it is not clear how long the body had been there or how the victim died. >> no word of low-cost several classic cars to go up in flames. firefighters arrived to battle the fire on candlestick drive around 9:00 a.m. yesterday. it became so intense that the flames jumped from the garage to the home. a fire that damaged several buildings at sparrows point was the work of an arsonist. somebody set fire to two sheds and three cars. anyone with information on this case is asked to call police. >> today is sentencing for casey anthony. she is facing four years for lying to police. she could walk and of court free
today. kristen dahlgren has more. >> almost three years after casey anthony was first arrested, the judge could sentence her to time already served. a far cry from the death penalty she could have faced if convicted of murdering her daughter. and far from what many thought should happen. but in an exclusive interview, juror number 3 said they didn't have enough proof it was murder. >> it doesn't feel good. it was a horrible decision to have to make. i had to do it based on the law. >> per parents were seen leaving with a police escort. anthony was subpoenaed and jailed in a lawsuit.
>> as soon as i heard the verdict, my reaction was, game on. >> her legal troubles may not be over. she is so far not fighting muc h sympathy in the court of public opinion. kristen dahlgren, wbal-tv 11 news. >> a convicted peeping tom has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. prosecutors say charles novak took pictures of two lenders 60 unsuspected victims inside their own home. one of his victims discovered him in her garage. police recovered underwear from the victims in his home. his victims and prosecutors were glad to see justice done.
>> you expect a certain measure of privacy when you close your blinds. you are within the confines of your home and your doors are locked. you are alone. to have someone that is your neighbor and that you would expect to have a personal boundary violate that. it's unexplainable. >> the defendant spend his whole day and lines looking for ways to look it would then, for ways to access women's homes. he of the equipment that was so sophisticated. we're happy that the judge understood the severity of the case. >> he pled guilty to burglary and other charges. after serving his sentence, he will have to register as a sex offender. >> a new ownership group to take control of rosecroft racetrack. penn national gaming must guarantee the operation through
2012 and host 20 live racing meets through the end of this year. that will bring live racing back to that track as early as august. verizon has agreed to pay $20 billion to resolve a lawsuit against some of its disabled employees in maryland. the rise in unfairly disciplined or fired employees whose disability caused them to miss work. verizon disputes the findings will pay the fine. >> it may be good to unplugging. a study finds all those gadgets like smart phones and ipads are disruptive and can hinder healthy social skills. they suggest unplugging from those devices and give yourself some time to rest and help stave and the depression.

and he's right at baltimore national pike -- a smooth ride at baltimore national pike. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> the coast guard continues to search for seven americans who went missing after their fishing boat capsized. this happened early sunday. fishing ships managed to rescue 35 passengers and crew members. one man is confirmed dead. an alleged mob boss pleaded not guilty. james bolger is alleged to be part of 19 crimes. he was arrested in santa monica 16 years after fleeing boston. tragedy at yellowstone national park as a grizzly bear kills a
hiker. this happened wednesday morning. visitors were cleared out of the area. this is the first time a beer has killed a visitor in the park since 1986. >> apple has place parts orders for its next version of its popular iphone. some suppliers say it will be thinner and lighter than the iphone 4 and 118 megapixels camera. apple seems to be getting ready to sell a lot of them -- it will have a 8-megapixels camera. facebook will allow its users to make video calls on its page using skype. the are redesigning the chat feature placing people that a

today's forecast. >> good morning. it is a warm start for us. we have no precipitation in the forecast for the drive time. maybe some scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. high temperature around 91. we'll come back in detail at the forecast for the upcoming weekend. >> thank you. the ongoing search for a man who assaulted a speed camera technician. >> this shut down one of the roads for hours yesterday. jennifer franciotti has more. >> the b-w parkway was shut down for three hours in both directions yesterday. a bizarre incident on 295 wednesday morning near the bwi exit at 195 had the interstate shut down for hours. around 11:30 wednesday morning, police say a man walked out of the woods and onto the b-w parkway holding a hammer in one hand and a shotgun in the other. they say he approached the
speed enforcement vehicle parked on the southbound side. the camera operator says the suspect started the attack by tapping on the back window. >> the witness was obviously frightened at that point and began blowing his horn. he said the individual then came to the front of the truck and began striking the front windshield with his hammer. >> you can see the windshield damage on the left part of your screen. the camera operator says the suspect started yelling at him. >> couldn't determine what was being said. but then within minutes, the individual, he said, walked back into the wooded area, carrying the shotgun and the hammer. >> dozens of law enforcement officers searched the woods and suspicious vehicles in the area. the highway was shut down for hours. area hotels were put on lockdown. mark ford is staying at one of the many hotels near the incident. >> it is weird that somebone would just do that randomly, unless maybe they thought they got a ticket earlier and went back to take care of the camera.
>> police are looking at surveillance video from area hotels, hoping to get a picture of the suspect. he is described as a white male in his 60's, 5'8", weighing approximately 150 pounds. they say he has gray hair and he was last seen wearing a red and blue shirt and blue jeans. the camera operator was not hurt. anyone with information is asked to call police. reporting live, jennifer franciotti. >> police are looking for an inmate who never returned from as work-release assignment. he was serving a three-year sentence and was expected to be released in october. officials say he did not return to its correction facility after completing his schedule last night. anyone with information is asked to call 911. >> authorities are checking out a plane crash. this happened at martin state
airport and it overturned. the pilot was the only person on board and was able to walk away from the accident. >> the mother and daughter whose bodies were found last week will be laid to rest today. there were killed last week allegedly at the hands of her fiancee. a funeral will be held this morning at 11:00 a.m. on west north avenue. >> president obama sits down with top republicans and democrats to discuss a deal to raise the debt ceiling. a deal mus be reached by august 2 or the u.s. may not be able to pay its bills. kate amara has more details on this story. >> good morning. after this stalemate, there are some signs of movement this morning. republicans willing to talk about tax loopholes. the president looking for bigger deficit cuts.
>> never in our history has the united states defaulted on its debt. >> president obama is convinced a deal to reduce the deficit and raise the debt ceiling is within reach. negotiations continue at the white house today as he sits down with the top democratic and republican leaders in congress. >> we have had a difficult time trying to get a clear proposal out of the president and his people. maybe he could begin by telling us what he has in mind. >> the white house wants a combination of cuts to defense, domestic, and entitlement programs, along with new revenue. >> i think the american people are on my side on this. we need to have a balanced approach where everything is on the table. >> democrats want the solution to include tax increases through closing loopholes for oil and gas companies and corporate jet owners. >> i am proud that democrats are standing up for america's middle class -- middle class families, so the richest of the rich. >> republicans say they will only agree to a deal that is completely free of tax hikes.
