war ii veteran what is are aging and raise private money to fly them to the world war ii memorial. many of them had never seen it before. so yesterday, a group from mississippi, they fly in and this has been planned for months and they arrive in washington and get off the plane to find it shuttered. so what do they do? they open the barricades and go in and see the memorial that's dedicated to them. they would not be denied. >> that's right. serving in italy and they served our country with honor and deserve better. >> what is beautiful about this particular story is just sort of the law enforcement chose to take a higher ground and -- >> right. >> and it also shows a little bit of like in a weird way lack of respect for what's happening with this shutdown but also they were saying they were bigger and they were honoring the very people who are the most affected by this shutdown. >> there was one part police officer that said do you think i

it was really sweet. and the kids all made me a card but i always get a special feeling when joaquin makes me a card because he's dysgraphic. for him to make a card takes quite a lot of time. it was really, really special. so it was just a great -- and then i came in and the shoes. i mean, forget it. i feel like the queen of sheba.
