you're sending me mixed messages. history in the &pmaking.... as the first color photo of mars makes its way backkto earth. and as ainsley earhardd explains... the curiosity mission on the red planet... has only begun. begun. the world watched as nasa scientists celebrated curiosity's successful landing on the red planet. now -- they have even more to celebrate -- as the first ácolorá pictures offmars are sent back to earth.watkins says: "eveey timeewe get a new one, we all crowd around the

screen and watch the new onns come up here." this photo shows the distinct mountain ridges of the gale crater. although it's how the crater leads up to an even bigger mountainous region called "mount sharp" -- which is curiosity's next stop. milkovich says: "looking at the dust covers on the various pameras on curiosity we know &pthat a lot of dust was kicked up over the course of these events, so hopefully in our future images we'll be able to get even better and more detail in these.. the photo was taken with curiisity's ars hand lens imagee -- nicknamed "mahli." it's the first of its kiid to áreallyá showcase why mars edgett says: "the mahli is a focusable color camera and this is the first color imaae of the landscape where we have landed (butt to) i have waited a long time for this to come back..'' in the meantime - - engineers will start booting 3 up curiosity's various instruments, antennae,
