i looked out my window. i noticed a string of cops. >> two people were shot at the location one taken with injuries the other transported in critical condition. >> we can pray for them, their families. think of the lives that are hurt. just offer prayer, more prayers would be needed minutes away. responding to another off milton road near a complex. people nearby heard several shots. >> what did do you when you heard them. >> i ducked. >> i kept walking, cars were moving, it's not already. >> the cameras were the only ones present as he was loaded on to the ambulance. he said a car drove by and fired >> he has no problems here at all. i would not expect for this to happen. >> but it did. another investigation is underway. >> as far as we know, no suspects in either of the two east charlotte shootings f you

incidents that happened tonight, contact the cmpd. alex giles. wbtv on your side. >> he they broke out at 4:30 this afternoon when gunfire erupted at a gas station. the area was roped off for hours. and sarah blake-morgan continues our coverage tonight. are there signs of that crime scene there tonight? >> reporter: yes, absolutely, paul. they heard seven gunshots. you can see here what appears to be a bullet hole in the fuel hose and making for a terrifying afternoon. >> this is surprising. >> angela huntry had no include her phillips spot was like this not long before she pulled in tonight. >> and the gas exploded. >> it was spewing from a bullet hole in the fuel hose possibly from just one of the many shots witnesses say they heard around 4:30 this afternoon at the shell

we sent out a news alert. we'll update you when we have new information. an arrest in a cold case murder of a pregnant teen whose case we have been covering for years a man is charged with killing hawa gabbidon back in 2012. we talked with her parents and what they did after waiting years for the killer to be caught. >> molly for three and a half years, hawa gabbidon's parents have been asking who killed their then 17-year-old daughter. today homicide detectives gave the family the answer in person. then her parents had some place they just wanted to go. >> reporter: for this couple, church is the sanctuary during her murder. >> we have been praying we hope that one day something will come out of this. >> so church was the only place they wanted to be, relived, they

won mississippi but the race for michigan is tighter with her and bernie sanders in a near tie. sanders is ahead by a few percentage points. 91% of the precincts reporting. he is up by 3000 votes. a week out from the north carolina primary, hillary clinton is bringing her campaign to the tar heel state. she will make stops. there are no plans for her to come to the charlotte area. and ted cruz was in the area drumming up support. he spoke at the central baptist church to hundreds of people. he was introduced by dr. mark harris, the pastor at the church. he said he is the only candidate who can take on donald trump who is leading the polls and delegate count. >> it is clear if you want to defeat donald trump our campaign is the only one to do it. there are a lot of people who

the tests last spring found elevated levels of toxic elements in the water. they occur naturally and in coal ash and the debate is where they came from. 300 well owners were told not to drink their water. this very been using bottled waters. the state said the chemicals are in public water systems not near coal ash pit so the state is sending out letters to the neighbors about the water. and there was nothing criminal about the way officers acted during an arrest caught on camera. this sparked protests and had the department investigating. the officer is using a technique striking the person being arrested in certain areas to force that person to release the average. they showed us how it is done in a demonstration today. , it's not criminal but we'll look at policy violations, and several confrontations caught by the camera. that supports the conclusion there was nothing criminal about

are mourning the loss of a mother killed taking her kids to school. the driver of a truck crossed the center line and hit can dance helms van. the boys were in the van. they were taken to the hospital to get checked out. david boyd is charged with death by vehicle. they are rallying around the family. >> the one thing we have held hans and prayed together, the boys made it through. they need a lot of support. >> the family's pastor is asking for prayers for the family. the crash is under investigation. new at 11 a motorcycle driver lifted to the hospital with serious injuries. the car pulled out. we're working to get a update f any charges will be filed we'll update you when we have more.

pleads guilty to having sex with a male student. teika healthon was charged last year for having an inappropriate relationship at south point high school in belmont. today a judge sentenced her to two years of probation and 200 hours of community service and mae deal. we want to show you a hero officer as he pulled two kids and adults from a burning car. and one child was pulled out and went back for the other who was buckled in as he gets him out along with another woman she was trying to get the child and screaming. she gets out as well and hands the child over. he saw the car and pulled it over and got everyone out safely. hero there. new information about a fire inside a business center warehouse. a problem in a light fixture

a robber used a car to crash into a store. they are leading to the entrance of fink's jeweler's. employees are working to determine if anything was stolen. new information tonight on an inmate who escaped from a rock hill facility, detectives say that the 26-year-old zachary reeves is now a suspect in an atlanta area crime spree including the shooting of two dogs at an animal hospital. he escaped from the a prerelease center. police say that he is now suspected in four burglaries they say he broke into an animal hospital and shot two dogsment one died. those charges are pending. warm in the 70s but maybe warmer tomorrow. >> that's one of the two things we'll be tracking the first thing of course is the big storm system that will rumble across
