morning we were in the 30s. 58 in wilmington, 58 in millville and northeast philly. it's another mild start to today. it's going to lead tore a warm afternoon. temperatures in the mid-60s. maybe even warmer in some spots. 11:00 a.m. temperatures will be in the low 70s and we'll be topping out with temperatures in the low 80s. another breaking day in the highs. i'll show you the forecast coming up. let's get a check on the forecast with katy zachry. good morning, katy. >> good morning. our drive time is holding steady on the majors, which is good. as you make your way in center city, philadelphia to the blue route, about 13 minutes. and from woodhaven to the mine and the blue ridge is looking good 15 minutes from the schuylkill expressway and 95. taking a look live outside the

42 expressway right where it meets up, that's your live look right here and the 42 freeway if you're headed, it's a drive time of about five minutes. when i talked to you a few minutes ago, i told you about construction. the burlington bristol bridge's overnight construction, that should be listing about 5:00 a.m. i'll let you know when that does. what it means for drivers, it's alternating one lane. it doesn't seem to be affecting anything. everything is look really good. lauren? >> thanks, katy. we continue to follow several breaking news stories. this morning, the first two philadelphia police officers hurt in a hit-and-run crash in philadelphia's juniata park neighborhood, this is a live look at the scene. officers were in an unmarked car on erie when they were hit from behind. the car was pushed into a

building. the officers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. the driver of the other car took off. we're working to find a description for you. we're following breaking news on a house collapse in germantown. this is a live picture from marian street. vai sikahema is live. an elderly couple was inside that home when it came down. >> it's pretty amazing. the video we're about to show you. pretty unbelievable they got out of there without getting hurt. the couple was about to go to bed when they heard several booms. it with us around 1:00. these two buildings fell to the ground. they were trying to make it outside. >> i caught the ceiling. >> he caught the ceiling and i was holding it up. he was like, come on, let's get out. thank god we out of there. >> yes, indeed. according to the couple just

stack spree in philadelphia. police have arrested ronald stanley and charged him with killing a man and injuring two other people in a stabbing spree. it all happened along baltimore avenue on tuesday. one of the victims, nathan atkinson died after one of the attacks. he told his wife over the phone they were talking with an auto mechanic about the repair of a car when the suspect walked right up to the husband. >> tapped him twice on his shoulder. my husband looked up and turned around to see who it was and he stabbed him. >> the wife asked not to be identified. they prayed over him before he died. she's pregnant. she said they're getting a lot of support from their community. a man was shot and is wounded while in his wheelchair. this latest attack happened on

west oak lane. nbc 10's denise na kakano repor. >> reporter: police say the teenager was in a wheelchair when the gunman came up to him. he was shot in the face and once in the back. this happened in the 2700 belong of limekiln pike. they're not sure why he was targeted. they found three shell casings three feet away from his wheelchair. >> we know shotting were fires because we found three shell casings feet away from his wheelchair and where he was found lying on the sidewalk. >> reporter: the victim went to the hospital in critical condition. the suspects were last seen in gray hoodies and were running down the street. police hope private cameras in the area will help them with their investigation. at 4:36, 57 degrees on this

thursday morning and the clock is ticking down to a possible new jersey transit rail strike. right now they have less than three days to reach an agreement. negotiators are back at the bargaining table. they say they have been making progress. more than 4,000 workers have authorized a strike early sunday it will affect 100,000 riders. there's a dispute over service if there was a strike. tens of thousands of riders in our area would have to find a new way around. here's a live look at philadelphia's 30th street station this morning. new jersey transit's atlantic city line runs from here. a strike would also impact the stations from trenton, hamilton, and princeton junction. happening today in north philadelphia, people who are fighting the plans for a new stadium on temple's university campus are holding a hearing on

the issue. they're called stadium stock pers and include people who live in north philadelphia and temple students. last month the temple's board of trustees approved the project which is expected to cost more than 1$100 million if it goes through. superintendent william hite will visit martin luther king high school where he'll introduce a new turnaround model. he'll use a strategy to help 15 schools. the cost, $15 million in the next school year. damage to the philadelphia vietnam's memorial at penn's landing. investigators tell us someone pride off and stole several brass star medallions and took a few metal brackets used to stop skateboarders. they believe it happened monday night or tuesday. they tell us repairs will cost

now, these numbers will jump up again like we saw yesterday. yesterday we hit a hay of 82 in philadelphia. that's a record high. really beat the old record of 73 degrees. and today we expect to do the same thing. low 80s. another record high. the normal high this tomb of year, that's 50 degrees. we're going to be over 30 degrees above normal. unseasonably warm once again. if you like it, enjoy today because once we get into tomorrow and the weekend, we're going to see the weather pattern change a bit. cold temperatures will be changing for your friday, saturday, and sunday. here's a look hour by hour. so as we get closer to lunchtime, we'll be in the mid-70s. and we'll continue to warm up in the afternoon. a mix of cloud as sun. then tonight, we'll have a cold front move through. you do notice light rain showers north and west. this is all part of a cold front that will swing through in the overnight hours. we'll see rain that could linger

and jeb bush may not be running for president anymore, but he's still keeping his eye on the gop presidential race. he plans to meet with the republican presidential hopefuls in the next few days, all of them except for donald trump. there's no word on whether that will lead to him endorsing someone 'head of tuesday's primary. a baltimore police officer faces charges. this was caught on camera and what you see may be disturbing. the video shows an officer kicking and smacking a 16-year-old last week. the officer accused of hitting the student now faces felony child aboos charges. the second officer also face ace sault charges for encouraging the slap. >> there's nothing more important and sacred than taking care of our young people and as a result of this, it appears

as we go into the weekend things are going to start changing a bit. temperatures will be dropping back into the 60s. right now, though, in allentown, clear skies, 56 degrees. philadelphia, 58 degrees. atlantic city, low 60s. so, yes, this is pretty mild for this hour of the morning. through the rest of your morning we'll be rising very quickly. near 60 degrees for most of the area by 8:00 a.m. and even then we'll be rising into the mid-70s through the early afternoon hours topping out through parts of the area in the low 80s. so another unseasonably warm day. take a look at the record highs we are expected to hit. parts of the area will. i think mostly cloudy. farther north and west closer to the poconos, 81 for quakertown and norristown and doylestown. mostly sunny but kind of a mix of sun and clouds. mt. holly, 82. 83 possibly in wilmington. closer to the shore, mostly to the mid-70s.

side of the bed this morning, well, this story could turn your mood around. after her courageous bat well cancer, young leah got chance to enjoy something many of us take for granted. look that face. for the first time in two years leah got to feel the wind in her hair. her dad, devon still, who now plays for the houston texans posted this video on instagram. you can't help but know tase 'tis that ear to ear grin. gorgeous. well, leah's long battle with cancer has been all over social media the last few years. her cancer is currently in remission after she was diagnosed and receiving treatment at children's hospital in philadelphia. i spent part of day with her and her daughter about a year ago. she's the picture of -- the word efer vest enlts comes to mind. she's a gorgeous girl. she said, do you dance, mr. vai? i love to dance. she said let's walk over to the

30 degrees above normal. yesterday, we hit 82. today we expect to be right around that again. take a look at the temperatures right now. we're seeing 60 degrees in philadelphia. so a couple of degrees warmer than it was about an hour ago. allentown is coming in at 67. 59, millville, 56 in wilmington, near 06 in mount holy. . locally we're nice and dry. we have showers up to north and west and at this time tomorrow morning we could boo b dealing with some of those light showers. it's all part of a cold front, so that will really start to change things up as we go into the weekend. in the meantime another warm day. 8:00 this morning, temperatures in the low 60s for most of this areaet at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. we're looking at temperatures already 80 degrees. record warmth in the forecast today and then tonight by 7:00 p.m. still very warm, around 73 degrees. we'll see some showers moving
