for 5:40. still small delays there and watching the jackknifed tractor-trailer on the new jersey turnpike over in carney's point township on the southbound side of the turnpike approaching the delaware memorial bridge at exit 1, the right lane is blocked. take 295 as your alternate. that's fine and all clear for traffic. >> jessica, thanks. breaking news in west philadelphia, a man found shot to death in a car early this morning. >> right now, police are leaving after being out there for about 2 1/2 hours. that's where nbc 10's pamela osborne is live for us this morning. tell us what you've learned. >> reporter: vai, tracy, here's what we know so far. it was just after 2:00 a.m. when neighbors called police. they were concerned about a man sitting inside of that white dodge charger that you see there on the 1600 block of red field street. they were called here by those neighbors. they say they saw a man slumped over inside of that car. they told police that the car had been running for several hours. they thought the man inside may have been asleep or not feeling

well. when police arrived to check on him, they discovered 25-year-old victim dead inside of that car. police believe that he was shot inside of that car while he was sitting there. he was shot once in the chest they are also checking surveillance cameras in the area to try to see if they picked up anything at pull. right now, no motive, no description of shooters as we await for that vehicle to be towed away and taken into evidence by police. reporting live in west philadelphia, pamela osborne, nbc 10 news. 6:03 and 61 degrees outside. new this morning, two more suspects are now charged with the terrorist bombings in brussels. prosecutors say the two men rented an apartment in brussels that served as the hideout for the bomber who attacked the subway as well as an accomplice. 16 people died in the march 22nd subway attack. another 16 were killed at the brussels airport.

remembering ed snider. the philadelphia flyers founder died at his california home yesterday morning after a battle with bladder cancer. >> snider was the founding father of the flyers bringing hockey to the city that had no history of the sport. katy zachry is live in south philadelphia with more on the life and the legacy of ed snider. good morning. >> reporter: that's right, good morning, vai and tracy. the philadelphia sports world is really mourning a legend. in fact, on two philadelphia newspapers, the "daily news" and "philadelphia enquirer" both are paying tribute to ed snider. you can see the flyers flag here at the wells fargo center is at half-staff this morning. ed snider passed away yesterday after a two-year battle with bladder cancer. he was 83 years old. was born in washington, d.c. but moved here to philadelphia in 1964 and by the early age of 33, he had already mortgaged his home to form the flyers and bring the team here to philly. but his vision for sports here

in the city did not stop there. in the early '90s he worked with the city and the business community to build what is known today as the wells fargo center. his players were dedicated to him. most recently visiting him at his home in california, this past december. after the visit, they turned around their season, drastically improving their record. players say they will be thinking of ed snider during their playoff run.ç >> i know there's nothing else he wanted to see more than the flyers to win another stanley cup. >> you never wanted to disappoint him. obviously we're all thinking about mr. snider. >> that could be very special and obviously will be dedicated to mr. snider. >> along with professional sports, ed snider had another passion here in philadelphia. and that was helping to change children's lives. i'll have more on that coming up in about a half hour. reporting live in south philadelphia, katy zachry, nbc 10 news. >> katy, thank you.

that car there. it's a white dodge charger, the neighbors told police the car had been running for several hours. they thought the man inside may have been asleep but when police arrived to check on him, they discovered the 25-year-old was dead. police say he was shot once in the chest and based on the evidence, they recovered, police believe he was sitting inside of the car when he was shot and killed. >> this 25-year-old victim does reside on the block. homicide detectives, crime scene personnel are processing the scene. several witnesses and family members were transported to homicide. they're being interviewed by homicide detectives at this time. >> reporter: and police tell us there are surveillance cameras in the area. they, of course, will be checking those to see if they may have captured something because as of now, there is no motive or description of any shooters. reporting live in west philadelphia, i'm pamela osborne, nbc 10 news.ç

weather with meteorologist bill henley. >> nine minutes before 7:00. the sun is up but we'll have to wait a little bit before we see sunshine. we'll see it later today. this morning it's rain that's moving into philadelphia. 61 degrees. it never got cold overnight. the rain showers will drop the temperatures a little bit. then with clearing skies this afternoon, we'll be back into the low 60s for çphiladelphia. 61 at the airport, 60 in northeast philadelphia. millville is 58. pottstown 57 in chester county. no sign of cold weather this morning. upper 50s to start with. normally we'd be in the low 40s at this hour this time of year. very mild morning. phoenixville, chester springs, tredyffrin township, all at 58 degrees right now. rain, though, moving in. you'll need your umbrella this morning, not this afternoon. we've been watching a line of moderate showers that's starting to fall apart. it's sweeping past allentown, heading toward milford.

light rain in philadelphia. steady, light rain this morning but this afternoon, this will push offshore and we'll see drying conditions. we'll actually get sunshine, too. and as far as rainfall, just enough for your garden with be that will help out a little bit. a quarter inch in philadelphia, less north and west. it will sweep offshore. it looks like a quarter to a third inch even at the shore. that's 2:00 this afternoon. less rain drops that will be falling. the morning rain and afternoon sunshine and breezy, too, with temperatures staying steady all day long. upper 50s and low 60s with northwesterly winds later today. those will bring in the colder air tomorrow morning. you'll need to bundle up tomorrow. bright sunshine for wednesday afternoon. temperature near 60 degrees on wednesday, into the 60s on thursday and friday. 63 the high and then hold on to your thermometer. it keeps climbing this weekend, 66 with plenty of sunshine saturday. sunday into the 70s and near 80 degrees monday afternoon. time to make weekend plans.
