philadelphia like yesterday is in the low 40s. it's gotten chillier since we got on the air. upper 30s to start with. look at the warmup. 60s for this afternoon. at the shore, 55 degrees. wind coming off the cooler ocean will keep temperatures cooler there. into the 60s for philadelphia and the pennsylvania suburbs. right now the temperatures have dropped to 38 in the lehigh valley. there's that 31 in south jersey. in delaware, well, a range of temperatures this morning. while it's 40 in newark. it's 37 in greenville. and further to the south, you can find the chill in the air, lincoln at 33. even colder just to the south, deep creek, georgia town at 32 des right now. each of these locations will see a warmup. some faster than others. 51 at 9:00, low 60s by 1:00. middle 60s this afternoon. the pennsylvania suburbs, starting off in the 40s.

nice warmup to the 60s. lehigh valley, 40s to start with, 60s by 1:00 this afternoon. the one area not going to see the fast warmup because of that easterly wind is the jersey shore. 60 at 1:00 -- there's the jersey shore. 53 degrees at 1:00, 55 at 5:00. but go inland in south jersey, you don't have to go far to find that 64 degrees later this afternoon. nice weather ahead. a look at five-day forecast when i come back in just a few minutes. katy zachry will have your news and jessica boyington is watching traffic. >> we're watching route 309 around the pennsylvania turnpike. all lanes are clear. traffic moving along nicely. this goes for most of our majors now. we are watching construction out in philadelphia. milling work actually on kelly drive, that's between art museum circle and sedgely drive. we will keep you updated.

route 202 northbound or south found no problems. 11 minutes from southbound to the schuylkill. we'll check in with mass transit when i come back in the next ten minutes. new from overnight, investigators are looking into the cause of a row home fire in philadelphia that sent a man to the hospital. nbc 10 was on the scene along marvine street in the logan section of the city. the fire broke out around 11:00 last night. crews got it under control within minutes, but the fire damaged three homes. the victim is being treated for mild smoke inhalation. the flyers quest for the cup is off to a slow start. they got shut out in washington in the playoff opener last night. the team was playing its first game since the death of founder and chairman ed snider. nbc 10's matt delucia is live at the wells fargo center this morning with a look at the game and a touching tribute. right, matt? >> that's right. a lot of people hoping for a win

in ed snider's honor. the flyers lost but there's still plenty of time left. and the fans have an opportunity to cheer on the thiflyers with pep rally at 1:00 at 1 bala. there was a video tribute to ed snider who died on monday morning. the flyers wore his initials on their jerseys. fans gathered at the official flyers watch party at xfinity live. they experienced some frustration during the game. they didn't just lose during the game but lost a player for the rest of the season. sean cotoure' was hit by alex ovechk ovechkin. one fan colored his beard orange hoping the orange and black would come back in the series. >> i'm not worried about it.

they can take them out and we can move forward. >> a lot of people at that watch party looking ahead at the game tomorrow, that's game two. more importantly game three when the series comes to philly. hopefully by that time the series will be all tied up. for now live in south philadelphia, i'm matt delucia, nbc 10 news. >> matt, thank you. it's 4:35. in the atlantic city financial crisis, legislation to help the shore town advanced to the state assembly. yesterday law americas approved a measure that gives the city up to two years before a full state takeover. in exchange the city's government has to reach certain financial benchmarks. the bill differs from the one the senate passed and that governor chris christie supports. it's almost been two years since a mother and her three young children were killed by carjackers who ran them over at a fruit stand in north philadelphia. yesterday a judge sentenced one of those carjackers, jonathan rosa, to 45 to 90 years in

prison. kisha williams and her children were selling fruit to raise money for a playground when rosa and cornelius crawford careened into them. the men pleaded guilty and admitted to taking turns sexually assaulting a realtor and joyriding after they carjacked that realtor not far from the deadly scene. rosa's attorney read us a letter from her mother. >> my desire is for everyone to find peace and for your broken hearts to be healed. >> i forgive them. >> you forgive mr. crawford and mr. rosa? >> yes. >> how do you find that in your heart? >> it was hard. i prayed a lot. >> rosa's co-defendant, cornelius crawford, was sentenced to 50 to 100 years in prison in march. it could turn into an epic immigration battle. it's about to play out in washington this weekend. what protesters are planning ahead of a supreme court battle over deporting undocumented

forecast. nice warmup. middle 50s by 11:00. 1:00, on the verge of 60 degrees. into the 60s this afternoon. what about for the pennsylvania suburbs? a cooler morning, but another nice warmup for the pennsylvania suburbs, low 60s by 3:00 this afternoon. and the lehigh valley, a nice warmup there. 1:00 temperature of 60 degrees after a 9:00 temperature of 47. now the temperatures are going to be nicely climbing in south jersey. 50 degrees at 9:00. low 60s at 1:00 today. but it's the jersey shore that is going to see the temperatures with that easterly wind stay cooler. we're starting off with 34 degrees right now. 9:00, 47. by 1:00, forget about the 60s, it's 52 degrees. middle 50s this afternoon. what about the next five days? your day in delaware will be in the 60s, but over the next five days it gets even warmer. that's true of philadelphia and the lehigh valley.

police arrested 15 members of the 10th and thompson gang, also known as t & t out of north philadelphia. the gang had a turf war with a rival gang in 2014, and that led to shootings and one homicide. the t & t gang identified itself through social media postings, tattoos and clothing. members included a father/son duo. police seized about a dozen illegal guns. south korea's news sage reports the latest missile launch by north korea was a failure. u.s. defense officials say their tracking appears to confirm that the two koreas are trading threats as the u.s. and south korea prepare for an annual military drill. a u.s. energy official is meeting with south korea officials on nuclear security and clean energy. three days of meetings got underway in seoul yesterday. they're part of a new clear energy pact reached between the u.s. and south korea last year.

scheduled to hear arguments in a case that challenges president obama's executive action that delayed the deportation of nearly 5 million undocumented immigrants two days from now, medical marijuana will become law in pennsylvania. it won't take effect until 30 days later after signed into law and patient also have to wait longer to get access to medical marijuana. over the next six months the department of health will come up with temporary regulations. the department will set up a process for patients to apply for i.d. cards, for doctors to register and for businesses to apply for dispensary licenses. the regulations will become permanent two years after the law takes effect. the dispensary have to be up and running for patients to get their prescriptions filled and that will most likely happen one to two years from now. now under the law medical marijuana will only be available in pills, oil and topical gels. patients who have cancer,

65 degrees for somerton. that's a nice turnaround from the chilly start. phoenixville, the pennsylvania suburbs, 63. lehigh valley, temperatures take off into the 60s. easton up to 66 degrees what about delaware, south jersey and the jersey shore? 60s for south jersey. 63 degrees in haddonfield this afternoon. delaware, wilmington up to 64 with brilliant sunshine. you'll see loads of sunshine at the jersey shore what went wrong? the temperatures in the 50s today for wildwood, atlantic city and linwood. no, it's that same easterly wind blowing off the chillier ocean. the ocean water temperatures have been hovering around 50 degrees that will keep coastal communities on the cool side. we have warming in time for the weekend. lots of 60s on saturday with the exception of the shore. look at sunday. 70s for the philadelphia suburbs and philadelphia, for south jersey, lehigh valley and delaware. then 80s possible for not just

may have to be recalled if the company cannot prove they're safe. a representative with the national highway traffic safety administration says evidence shows that the rupturing air bags are mainly in older model vehicles. a faulty air bag caused the death of a teenage girl in texas two weeks ago. the government agency says part of the problem is that too many people are not aware of the recall or they are ignoring it. just a few minutes before 5:00 a.m. listen to this. a man is preparing to run across the ocean -- yes, run -- starting in florida and going to bermuda, haiti, cuba and puerto rico and he'll do it in a bubble. the endurance athlete created what he calls a hydro pod. the bubble includes a life jacket, walter filtered gps and shark repellant. he tried to run across the ocean in a similar bubble in 2014 but the coast guard made him turn around. >> it's my bubble, now i put a sign up, please don't burst my
