neighborhood weather. it's a detailed forecast. you're not going to get anywhere else. the forecast is focused on exactly where you live. tell us more. >> we have a range of temperatures in our area this morning. that's why we've broke tonight down into different neighborhoods. at the bottom of your screen, the seven-day forecast, six areas based on weather patterns in our region. 53 degrees in the pennsylvania suburbs. cooler in philadelphia, 49 degrees. the chilly spot this morning, south jersey, down to 35 degrees right now. 40s for the lehigh valley and delaware. these numbers will be climbing. look at the warmup today. 80 degrees for the lehigh valley and delaware, shooting for 80 degrees in philadelphia and upper 70s for the pennsylvania suburbs and south jersey. but there's going to be a sea breeze kicking in because it gets so warm inland. the air starts to rise and it drags in the air from the coast. that will keep the jersey shore just a little bit cooler at 68 degrees. a beautiful day all around. and it's not going to be this

warm for the rest of the week as you may have noticed at the bottom of the screen. things get cooler and windier for tomorrow. it stays dry for most of the week. we'll take a closer look at the neighborhood by neighborhood forecast when i'm back in ten minutes. watching the roads, just 17 minutes before sunrise. jessica boyington. jessie? >> we're watching pennsauken, new jersey around the white horse pike and collingswood circle. you can see in problems or big backups in the area. everything is still moving along nicely. there is construction on the betsy ross bridge eastbound ramp to richmond çstreet. that will be closed until about may. a little bit longer for that. here's 95 around broad street. no problems or big delays yet. whether you're headed northbound or southbound. but heading to any of the area bridges, still okay over the walt and the ben. into philadelphia and tacony palmyra and burlington bristol, not at the moment currently schedule for any openings. we'll keep you updated throughout the morning. an officer shot in west philadelphia last night is

recovering in the hospital this morning. >> this all started when a woman flagged down an officer and saying the two men were breaking into her car. after that, a tussle, then there was a chase and one of the men shot an officer. this important, we have live team coverage, nbc 10's cardinals can katy zachry is live at the hospital. let's start with matt delucia and how this whole thing got started. you've been ghaithing new information on this. tell us more. >> i'm told investigators have watched surveillance video of these two men, the suspects in this case. take a look at our video from the scene this happened just before 9:00 last night. philadelphia police say two officers were flagged down by a woman that said two men were breaking into her car. the officers approached the men, tried to run, officer james mccollough was able to tackle one of them and then that suspect fired on the officer, hitting him in the leg. the suspect ran off. officer mccollough fired his gun at the man three times and both

suspects were caught a short time later. now take a look at this video. this is at the septa platform on 60th and market, a block away. a just spoke with police within the past couple of hours. i'm told investigators found a hat and knife that they believe belongs to one of the suspects. he tried to catch a train, wasn't able to, then ran back down the stairs before being caught by police. some folks who were in the area at the time, they watched this all unfold. here's one of them. >> i've lived in west philly all my life, so i've heard gunshots multiple times. but to be that close, it's a little bit nerve-racking. you can hear it in my voice, my hands are shaking a little bit. >> the police commissioner and mayor are praising the quick thinking of officer mccollough and his partner. the 18th district still rattled after the shooting of officerç jesse hartnett in january. that ambush shooting happened just a couple blocks away from where this shooting happened last night. live outside the 18th district,

matt delucia, nbc 10 news. >> after the officer was shot, we know he tied a tourniquet around his leg before he got to the hospital. >> nbc 10's katy zachry is live for us in university city at penn presbyterian medical center. this officer's quick thinking may have possibly saved his own life. >> absolutely. we know it helped to control the bleeding until his partner could drive him here to the hospital. when officer james mccollough was shot at this west philadelphia intersection last night, he tried to run after the suspect but couldn't even stand up. police say the 24-year-old officer had been shot in the left thigh, that's where he had a bullet and was bleeding excessively. thanks to his police training with be though, he knew how to apply a tourniquet and did so on himself at the scene. it's first aid we're told he's grown used to doing for others. >> our officers are trained with tourniquets, many of them. they've saved so many lives. they're using it rather frequently.

this week, bill cosby's wife is scheduled to be questioned under oath again in a defamation lawsuit filed against her ç husband. seven women claim the comedian branded them as liars after they went public with their allegations against him. of sexual assault. camille cosby's deposition is scheduled to continue tuesday in boston. she gave the first part of her deposition back in february. meanwhile, bill cosby faces criminal charges in montgomery county where he's accused of drugging and molesting a former temple university employee in 2004. cosby has denied the allegations. a top public health official says pregnant women in the united states should not worry about contracting the zika virus, at least not yet. but doctor anthony fauci with the national institutes of health warned we could see local transmissions of the virus as we head into mosquito season. fauci is advising pregnant women to steer clear of countries where there are outbreaks. on friday we told you about the

latest incident in our region, a camden county woman who tested positive for zika after traveling to an affected country. now your nbc 10 first alert weather with meteorologist bill henley. >> tens minutes away from sunrise. we have a cool start to the day. 49 degrees in philadelphia. this is your neighborhood by neighborhood forecast. hour by hour. look at this, 11:00, 69 degrees and 75. that would exceed the temperature we saw yesterday. we had a high of 73 yesterday. but it would be closer to 80 degrees starting at 3:00 this afternoon. i do expect philadelphia to hit 80 degrees this afternoon. the pennsylvania suburbs, well, a little bit cool to start with but right now, 55 degrees. that's warmer than it is in philadelphia. 68 degrees at 11:00. normally when you get a northerly wind, that keeps things cooler. the sun is so bright, in spite of a light northerly wind, 77 degrees, that's by 3:00 this afternoon. in the lehigh valley, 48 right

now. 73 by 1:00. that's up to 76 degrees. a little bit of a northwesterly wind. we'll see more of that tomorrow. that will keep tomorrow's temperatures cooler. at 57:00 today, 76 degrees. plenty of sunshine for south jersey and a big warmup, too. look at that 57:00 p.m. temperature, 78 degrees. we'll be on the verge of 70 at 11:00. that's in south jersey. the jersey shore, a different story. keep an eye on the winds. those winds start out in the north at 57 degrees at 9:00. 60s at 1:00. you can see the shift in the wind. it becomes more easterly at 3:00 this afternoon. that's going to keep your shore temperatures right along the coast in the 60s today. but delaware, a big warmup into the upper 70s. by 3:00 this afternoon, 78 degrees and the wind will stay below 10 miles an hour. a nice warmup from where we are right now at 45 degrees. next five days, dry until we get to friday. the warmest day will be today

50 degrees in bala cynwyd. 6:15. new this morning, firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in upper darby, delaware county. here's how it looked as flames and smoke roared from the house on ardmore avenue, this happened at 2:30 this morning. neighbors had telling us the family just bought that home in january and were in the process of fixing it up. they were almost finished, now the home completely destroyed but nobody was hurt. new information this morning in the deadly quake in ecuador. the death toll now stands at 272. that number is expected to climb. meanwhile, some survivors are still being pulled alive from the rubble. the magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit saturday know, destroying buildings and roads. thousands are hurt. it's not clear how many are still missing. in japan, cleanup is slow going as well after two quakes struck there over the last two

days. 48 people died and the destruction is having a ripple effect on the country's economy. toyota, nissan and honda have all stopped making vehicles because of supplyç problems to that region. drivers who use kelly drive need to be aware of changes happening today. the road will be milled and a curb ramp installed between 25th street and hunting park avenue. that means there will be lane restrictions today through saturday. the work will not be done during the morning or afternoon rush hours. you may also run into unpainting crews on the blue route, the schuylkill expressway and i-95 this week. penndot will be using more than 114,000 gallons of yes lollow a white traffic line paint in the area. crews will work between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in montgomery and delaware counties. right now i'm guessing on

police activity is present there on the scene. a vehicle off on to the sidewalk right now. looks like there's damage there as well. not a lot of backup around the scene. cars being diverted to the side past the scene. it's on cheltenham avenue and washington lane. if you're taking that direction, your best bet is to take stenton avenue. it's just a block or two away. it doesn't look like volume starting to mess with drivers right now. could set you back ten minnesota or so. here's the 42 freeway in new jersey, around the atlantic city expressway. no problems or delays yet. once you get up headed northbound towards the philadelphia area, we're seeing delay to get to the bridges. vai? >> jessica, thank you. an officer shot in the line of duty. right now he's recovering but he's the second philadelphia police officer shot in just the past four months. and the philadelphia police commissioner said this officer was just doing his job, a job that is dangerous.

>> this morning we have live team coverage. nbc 10's katy zachry is at the hospital where the officer is recovering. first, let's go live to west philadelphia with nbc 10's matt delucia to tell us how this all started. matt? >> rosemary and vai, the on you mentioned in just a few months around the 18th district. that is still on the minds of the folks here at the 18th district. another one of their officers is caught up in gunfire. take a look at our video from the scene. this is around 59th and market streets, just before 9:00. two officers were flagged down by i woman who said two men were breaking into her car. the officers approached the men, they tried to run and that's when officer james mccollough tackled one of them. the suspect fired on the officer, hitting him in the leg. he then ran off. and officer mccollough fired his gun at the man three times. both suspects were caught a short time later. take a look at this video, this is on the septa platform at 68th

meanwhile our team coverage continues with nbc 10's katy zachry who's live outside penn presbyterian medical center. >> that's where the officer is recovering. katy, the officer was quick to act after the shooting and may have saved his own life. >> reporter: he is being praised for quick thinking and applying a tourniquet to his own leg after he was shot. it was bleeding excessively, we're told. his partner then put him in their patrol car and rushed him here to penn presbyterian hospital behind me. now when officer james mccollough, 24 years ole, got to penn presbyterian hospital he had a bull net his left thigh. he is expected to make a full recovery, though. where officer james mccollough was shot is a few blocks away from where philadelphia police officer jesse hartnett was shot in january by a suspect. you'll remember that man walked up to officer hartnett's patrol car and fired at him. while police say the situations are different, officer hartnett

take a look at video from the scene. 59th and market. the two officers aet eapproache men. both suspects were caught a short time later. no other injuries is have been reported and surveillance video has been obtained from the area where this all happened. i'm at southwest detectives, matt delucia, nbc 10 news. philadelphia police officer james mccollough is right now recovering inside penn presbyterian hospital behind me. after he was shot by a suspect as you heard in matt delucia's report. he arrived here to the hospital with a bull net his left thigh. but police are praising his quick thinking at the scene. they say he applied a tourniquet to his own leg to control the excessive bleeding. his partner droveç him to the hospital where officer mccollough was met by his fiance and mother.
