crews pull a mini van that crashed into the delaware river out of the water, but now the search goes on for the driver. >> they were living down in the basement. they were hiding in the chick e coop. >> and a bucks county home where a 12 girls were found in a man's home. and sunny weather on tap for today's weather, how hot it will get in the first alert forecast. welcome to nbc 10 news today. happy father's day out there to the dads out there. it is now 10:00 a.m.

let's get a check of our forecast from erika martin. >> gorgeous out there, ted. mother nature cooperated and it is stunning. we have sunny skies in the works. a high pressure system keeping everything high and dry. notice these winds behind me, very mild and a little bit of a southwesterly component right now. we'll see clearer skies throughout the entire day. i want you to see the temperature difference between today and yesterday. 4 degrees warmer than it was at this time yesterday. your day along the jersey shore, topping out mainly in the upper 70s, a few low 80s overall. lots of sunshine and everything clearing and improving as the day progresses.

the suburbs also seeing a wonderful day. that will be the story today and tomorrow. i would like you to be mindful of staying hydrated today. make sure you go with a buddy into the water at the beach today. i mention that because it is a very dangerous situation. notice all of the upper 60s. dover 60s and allen town a full forecast for you. >> pamela osborn is at the scene of an accident. >> rescue and recovery teams pull a very damaged silver vehicle from the delaware river today after witnesses report seeing it disappear.

but there was no one inside. >> there was no evidence of anyone being in the vehicle. >> witnesses feared someone may have been trapped after watching part of the accident play out around 3:00 this morning. >> as we're sitting at the light, so a car comes flying by, silver, i'm not sure of the model, goes flying by. i heard a crash, so i think it is crashing into another car. >> when they got to the river's edge, this is what they saw. >> the fender hanging off over there b with everything. and there was nothing in the water. >> crews found the vehicle in water about 20 feet deep. police say it is possible someone was ejected from the vehicle as it crashed into the water below. >> and you can see the search is continuing right now. very difficult for investigators

to determine if there was a driver that was still trapped in the vehicle when it went under the water. if there was any other occupants. that is what they're searching for right now. >> pamela, thank you. investigators expect to be back at that bucks county home today where 12 girls were found. >> they were living down in the basement. they were hiding in the chicken coop. a cadaver dog was brought in but found nothing. lee kaplan was charged with sexually assaulting one of the girls when she was 14 and they now have 2 children. police say they have received calls in the past, but those calls were not specific enough to act on until thousand -- now.

names of those victims on the beach in front of tropicana and they will release a wreath into the ocean. today the basilica will hold mass for those who lost their lives in orlando if will include memorials for all of those who died. how the pageant honored the memory of a former winner.

the clouds, lower level clouds and everything mixing out as the day progresses. so certainly a fantastic start to this day, enjoy it, please. go outside and enjoy the day. forecast and wind for today, starting to see a variable shift in the wind speeds, that means we'll see a break in the clouds. as the day continues and satellite and radar image picking up on not much going on right now because we have a series of high pressure systems. pretty much dominating the entire nation. a couple showers to the north and west. high pressure systems right over the carolinas. one off of the new england shoreline. everything is high and dry until a cold front slips through by late monday into tus. lots of upper 70s and it looks like the average in the suburbs, low 80s for you. it is progressing nicely throughout the entire day, and we'll see upper 80s to low 90s

a jury in nashville, tennessee found a former vanderbilt football player for his role in the rape of an unconcious woman. prosecutors say he encouraged teammate to rape the victim in a dorm room in 2013. they say he recorded it and shared it with others. >> what happened to this victim is horrifying no matter how many times you say it. no matter how many times you see it. it is horrifying every time. >> vandenberg's defense says he was drunk at the time and should not have been held responsibility for the actions of the other players.2phe coul5
