christie. >> reporter: right. one important fact is this is one of only two statewide gubernatorial races, the other happening in virginia. the big question, of course, for people in new jersey is who is best suited to replace outgoing governor chris christie. second in command now, lieutenant governor kim guadagno is on the republican ticket to replace christie. last week, former vice president joe biden called this upcoming election for new jersey the single most-important race of the next three years. here are the candidates running in the garden state for the democrats. auto -- phil murphy, jim johnson, john wisnieski, and for the republicans, jack ciattarelli, joseph rullo, and stevens rogers. the party winners will go head to head for the general election on november 7th. the polls today here in new jersey for the primary open at 6:00 a.m. a couple of hours from now. and they close tonight at 8:00

representative. new this morning, philadelphia police looking for three men who shot and killed a dog last night at orchard and wamrath streets. the large pit bull with a chain around its neck was shot several times. police are looking at security video in the area. in montgomery county today, more testimony is expected on day two of the bill cosby sexual assault trial. yesterday after opening statements, a key witness for the prosecution took the stand. the woman told the court she was drugged in a hotel room by cosby about a decade before he allegedly assaulted then-temple employee andrea constand. cosby is not charged with drugging that woman, but prosecutors hope they can show the jury a pattern here. they said cosby already admitted under oath that he gave constand pills and assaulted her. cosby's defense team countered by saying constand's story is inconsistent. outside the courthouse, we heard from people for and against cosby.

good morning, everyone. jessica boyington with you right now watching the roads. we're watching the vine street expressway. we're closed here for construction work. and this is our camera around broad street. right sheer where they're diver diverting the traffic off the off ramp. in between broad and the schuylkill expressway for another half hour or so, we'll watch police activity there and construction crews. now the burlington bristol bridge opening was moved back a bit to 4:45. we'll see the opening here. the ben franklin, walt whitman bridge are clear. and i haven't seen for the taco palmyra. i'll keep checking in with that also. 95 looks okay. 11 minutes on the northbound

drive time and we'll end with the crash out in hatboro at park avenue and east county line road. more updates when i come back in about ten minutes. let's start by looking at our visibility map. we have fog in the area this morning, especially in the northernmost zones. you see the visibility is posto at 1.75 miles. same for trenton. philadelphia at four miles. this isn't going to stop you from driving, but a heads up that it's harder to see a you head out this morning. now we'll look at where the rain is moving through. first alert radar, when you've got yellows, oranges, red rn that's coming down. and it's cutting now through parts of the suburbs, heading i delco, and mercer county. we'll look close at the area. here it is, the line of storms. lymerick getting a heavy rain moving over passing through richland, about to move into warrington and abington next. this is moving at about 25 miles

per hour. not particularly fast. it's not going to take -- it is going to take a while before it gets to philadelphia. 5:30, 6:00 a.m., steadier rain. heavier rain between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m., possibly when you start the commute. we'll show you more closely -- there's the line i'm talking about. we go from 4:30 through 6:30. and you see where the heavier rain is lining up with the i-95 corridor. we go from 6:30 to 8:00 a.m., now it's stretching into the suburbs. it may start to -- rather, through south jersey. it may start to weaken as we get through the area. it is going to continue to the shore as it does weaken into 9:00 a.m. that's not the end of the rain. we go from 9:30 in the morning, still spotty green on the board, to 1:30 in the afternoon, and you see these kind of scattered showers. they're a little lighter in nature. watch as we go from 1:30 through to 5:30 in the evening. now we've got pockets of heavier rain, possibly an isolated thunderstorm again. so today, not a washout. we will have storms in and out throughout the day.

in bucks county, a black bear is no longer hanging out in a feasterville area. >> he was a tough one. only nbc10 was there as officers tranquilized and removed the bear. he spent the past two days in and out of trees here. they had to use a police helicopter to scare the guy to the ground. that's where they were able to safely tranquilize him. the bear will be taken to gamelands in harrisburg and released. in new castle county, two 17-year-old girls convicted in the death of a classmates now know their punishment. yesterday a judge sentenced one of the girls to six months in a juvenile facility. she attacked amy joyner bathroom in a bathroom at the howard high school of technology last year. the other girl was sentenced to 18 months probation for helping to plan the fight. an autopsy found that joyner francis died from a rare heart condition that was aggravated by the attack. in chester county, police once again have their man. barry baker, you see in the

yellow sweatshirt, accused of mocking and suckerpunching a man with cerebral palsy. baker was rearrested yesterday morning. police were looking for him after he disappeared shortly after. they released him on bail following the attack. people in east greenville, montgomery county, packed a communities meeting last night with the newly appointed police chief. they cut ties with the upper perk police department to start its own force. the area still relies on state police patrols. the force gets its first police car this week and new headquarters by august. [ bleep ] [ shouting ] at the jersey shore, margate police have a new plan in place to prevent fights like this. this beach brawl happened over the memorial day weekend, and the video went viral. the police department is now adding a wawa detail this summer because large crowds of teens often hang out in the stores'

two men wanted in connection with a shooting that injured ten people last month are in custody. kadir burley was arrested on theft charges after the shooting. he'll be picked up by philly police this morning. tyrell broadnax is already in custody. both are charged with firing dozens of bullets into a crowd because of a feud with one man. >> have to find a way to resolve issues without resorting to guns. >> we deserve better. >> neighbors are relieved the alleged gunmen are behind bars. the last of the victims was just leaving the hospital yesterday. we're about to show an assault caught on camera. the video could be disturbing. philadelphia police are asking for your help in finding a teenager who was responsible for this attack. it happened thursday on chelton avenue in germantown. you see one of the teenagers punching a mentally disabled man in the face before another steps in and hits the man again. now police are investigating the

assault. they're asking anyone who knows anything about this to come forward. 4:55. new details about daniel selby jr., the inmate who escaped from police custody in bucks county. we brought you the search for selby as breaking news monday morning. police have arrested his father, daniel selby sr., who faces charges of helping his son get away. selby sr. helped his son and drove him to affiliation yesterday afternoon. selby jr. is still on the run. today jurors will be back at work deliberating the fatality of the man accused of sexually assaulting six sisters who authorities say were gifted to that man by the girls' parents. prosecutors say lee kaplan fathered two children with one of the girls. he's facing several charges including rain of a child. the jury -- including rape of a child. the jury deliberated for five hours yesterday before being sent home for the night. opening statements are set today in the child sex sexual assault trial of -- child sex assault trial of jerry sandusky's adopted son.

he's charged with several sex crimes involving two teenage girls. a jury convicted jeffrey's father, jerry sandusky, of sexually abusing ten boys. the former penn state assistant football coach is serving a 30 to 60-year prison sentence. al pacino will reportedly star as legendary football coach joe paterno in a new movie. the oscar winner will play paterno in an hbo move about jerry sandusky. paterno was fired in 2011 in the wake of the jerry sandusky case that landed him in prison. he died in 2012. no word on who will play sandusky in the film. this summer, mtv is heading back to the jersey shore. >> giving new life to an old show. the network will begin taping mtv "beach house" starting includes in long beach township. "mtv beach house" began in 1993 and was billed as the ultimate summer party. it aired until the summer of
