lights showers. hamberg is about to get a few sprinkles. storms will hold off until this evening in those same areas in the suburbs and in the ree high valley. certainly don't need your umbrella this morning. and you'll need your sunglasses. we'll get some sunshine breaking through the clouds. the clouds have already started to thin out in philadelphia. a little bit of a breeze coming out of the south, that'll help boost our temperatures today. we'll make it into the 80s. the combination of clouds and sunshine, don't think you'll need your umbrellas today. 83 inland at the shore. 77 degrees the high temperature. the chances will be the creasing for showers as we go into the late afternoon and especially the evening hours for the suburbs and the lee high valley. and i'll walk you through it hour by hour when i come back in

kitical condition. the gunmen is on the loose. katey, tell us how this unfolded. >> the shooting happened around 11:00 and in a pretty visible part of oxford circle, right in the middle of the intersection. detectives say that probably helped the victim because a good samaritan, a witness saw the injured driver fall out of his car. and that good samaritan ran up to him to help. that driver is a 24-year-old man. police tell us at this hour at einstein hospital where he may die from his injuries, they're so severe. in the meantime police looking for a driver in a white sedan, possibly a buick. that driver accused of pulling into the interaction just before midnight and shooting the other driver through the drivers side window. here is what's police say they have right now as they look for him. >> we did some private surveillance cameras, so hopefully those cameras recorded

something that can help us with this critical shooting investigation. >> reporter: in addition to those surveillance camera, police tell us there were also several witnesses brought here to northeast detectives behind me to give their account of what happened. reporting live, katie zachary, nbc 10 news. authorities found a mans body in his home on river road tuesday night. yesterday they confirmed that a dive team began searching the delaware river just nearby. authorities have not said how the victim died. happening today after a bombshell yesterday, the hearing for fraternities brothers accused in the death of a pledge continues today. tim piasa, the student who died had fallen down the basement stairs. while the detective could not say exactly what the video showed, he did say one of those

in the courtroom suspected of deleting that video. the charge stemmed from piasa who died after a night of drinking. frat brothers waited 1 hours before calling 911. the judge will decide if there's enough evidence to send the case to trial. a philadelphia man has his 3-year-old son back after this car was stolen with the child in the back seat. police reunited the dad with the toddler. here's how it started. dad leaves his car running to go into a sneaker store. the thief jumped in, drove off. a short time later they find the child strapped in his car seat on the ground at a fire station a mile away. police found the car and the driver. and the suspect faces charges which could include kidnapping.

brilliant sunshine we have seen lately. very light showers just barely making it into burkes county. potsville seeing a little, very light rainfall. we do have some clouds moving through the area. there's some nice breaks in those clouds. we'll be in and out of the cloud cover. the chances of showers and thunderstorms will really increase this evening. during the day, you'll need your sun glasses. more clouds around at 3:00. 65 this morning. by late morning it's in the upper 70s and close to 80 degrees at 3:00. 80 degrees at 3:00. for delaware, lots of sunshine to start with. the clouds will be increasing during the late afternoon hours. and for the new jersey neighborhoods, we're starting off in the 60s. warm into the upper 70s at 8:00.

the shore looking good with partly to mostly sunny clouds. look at those temperatures in the middle 70s today. the chance of showers and thunderstorms increasing as we go into the evening hours. then thunderstorms will be developing first farther north and west. and some of those storms will be reaching into the lee high valley. but this is just updated computer model shows them pushing to the north 7:00. and in the evening, we're still looking at clouds around but not too many showers. that does change saturday. we'll have your weekend forecast back in ten minutes. let's get you updated on your ride. >> how's that looking jessica? >> 95 right now looks good. what we've been dealing so far this morning was a lot of

a south carolina police officer says the $30 he spent on a body camera for himself was the best money he ever spent. >> that was part of his testimony after video from that camera was used to testify against a suspect who tried to kill him. we do want to warn you you may find this video disturbing. this is video from officer quincy smith's personal camera mounted on his glasses just after he approached that suspect. this happened in january of 2016

in south carolina. now he's been able to use the footage to help convict that man who shot him. smith's arm and neck where he was shot have both healed. the officer is also going through physical therapy and plans to go back on patrol. a driver makes a big mistake and goes flying off this parking garage. the woman mistook the gas for the brake and went crashing through the barriers. clipped the chevy tahoe, barely missing that person. meanwhile, workers rushed in to help. the driver of the tahoe was okay. a fright train slammed through this truck. but get this, the truck was filled with soft peppermints

which spilled oall over the place and forced cleanup crews to close down the road. they say they'll cite the driver. >> well, what are soft peppermints? what if you had to give up your cellphone, no cellphone, no calling mom and dad? that's the rule at camp harlen. this camp has locations in the pokenos. campers aren't allowed to use their cellphones are anything. if parents are concerned about their child, they can call the camp. and the camp also posts updates online. all of it was helpful to a self-proclaimed helicopter dad. >> come home with, you know, better interpersonal skills because they're really -- and i think that's the nature of a camp, you're living with a group of people.

some sunshine back into the 80s this afternoon. we're starting off a little bit more moisture than this afternoon. it'll actually dry out this afternoon. but it's this evening we'll see some wet weather move into the area. we're seeing some showers right now. these are not going to last. you see pottsville getting light rain along with porter. this is gold front. it's slowly moving to the east. behind it is nice dry air. that's the weather we're going to get for sunday. ahead of it, there's lots of moisture and we're going to get showers and thunderstorms. those showers will start popping up this evening. and we could see some pretty good rainfall amounts in fact by 11:00 saturday night, close to 2 inches of rain possible for
