we have live coverage. katy zachry has a look at the changing conditions in camden. jessica boyington is keeping an eye on how the storm is impacting the commute. we'll start with meteorologist bill henley. when will the winds start picking up? >> that happens this morning. the wind around for the game yesterday and most of the day sunday is still with us. though the rain will be ending, the damaging wind potential will be with us for the region until about noon today. talking wind gusts of 45 to 55 miles per hour. that could bring down weakened trees and branches from yesterday's storm. and power outages are possible as a result. travel troubles, count on a few of those, as well. w wind gusts, 40 miles per hour in wilmington. 39 miles per hour in atlantic city. and now 36 mile-per-hour winds in millville. we've seen them increase this morning. they're still on the increase. we could see problems this morning. add to that, more rain. heavy downpours moving through the lehigh valley. passing allentown and moving

into pottstown this hour. farther to the south, chester county and into delaware. new castle county, wilmington, getting heavy rainfall to start with. and it's chilly. bundle up. the rain ends this morning. this afternoon, sunshine. we're talking 50s this afternoon. gusty winds later. i'll be back in less than ten minutes to break it down hour by hour. first to jessica boyington and traffic. moving through senior city, roads are wet. the vine street expressway and our cameras around 8th street, no major problems. an earlier disabled vehicle at the ben franklin has cleared. moving eastbound -- twewestbount the schuylkill. the roads are wet. lower gwynned, a downed tree blocking a portion of sumneytown pike at evans road. watch for that there.

watching a crash on white marsh at morris road. back to you. >> thanks. n.j. transit has suspended some trains because of flooding already. >> katy zachry is live in camden. this will impact people's morning commutes. what's it like now? sigh you have the umbrella up. -- i see you have the umbrella up. resi resign. >> reporter: the rain and winds have picked up. not a good day to be waiting in the elements. not a good morning to be driving or commuting. here on local roads, you see how many puddles have accumulated, wet spots out here. when leaves mix with the wet water on the road, it makes for incredibly slippery conditions to drive over. almost as slippery as driving over ice. on the highway, be careful of hydroplaning. traffic will be going slower than normal. speaking of slower than normal

traffic, we are waiting for an update on the new jersey transit river line. we are at the waterfront entertainment center. a few hours ago, new jersey transit had to suspend their river line between here, the waterfront entertainment center, and walter it rand transportation center because of flooding. there's still a lot of water here. a lot of water that could be affecting traffic. in terms of septa across the river in philadelphia and throughout the region, septa is advising commuters this morning to add time to your commute. be patient, plan for trains to be slower than normal because of the rain and flooding and power lines coming down. we'll let you know of alerts that come on throughout the morning. reporting live, katy zachry, nbc10 news. winds and rain battled south and central jersey over the

wind. atlantic county in particular experienced ponding and minor flooding because of storm drains clogged with leaves. in delaware county, a tree snapped and slammed on to the back of a car in brookhaven. dutton mill was closed at the scene. you can track the storm all morning on our nbc10 app. we'll have instant updates and alerts for your neighborhood. chaos at the king of prussia mall as a two-state crime spree comes to a screeching halt. a serial robber was shot after he tried to run over police in a parking lot outside of lord & taylor. the suspect is responsible for at least three robberies in pennsylvania and delaware. the most recent, he robbed a woman in the same garage on saturday. upper merion police tell us the incident started when they found that the robbery suspect was in a stolen car. he took off when they approached, hitting two patrol cars. when he tried to run down two officers, they started shooting.

the suspect is at paoli hospital. his name and condition have not been released. meanwhile, philadelphia police want to know who shot a man in the head and left him to die on a north philadelphia street. last night officers found the man suffering from the wound on north hancock. police are interviewing one witness and looking at security cameras in the area. it's 5:05. 48 degrees. today in philadelphia, the fa t family of an 8-year-old hit and killed by a driver will go on trial. the girl was hit and killed as she walked in philadelphia last year. police arrested the man after a tip led them to a body shop in chester county where the car was being repaired. the girl's mother and senator williams are backing a bill to create an amber alert for child hit and runs. today the judge in the bribery trial of new jersey senator bob menendez is expected to rule on a defense motion for

a mistrial. lawyers for menendez and his co-defendant filed that motion yesterday. they claim the judge has limited their case by not allowing them to present certain witnesses and evidence. menendez is accused of accepting gifts from a florida eye doctor in exchange for political favors. both men have denied that. ♪ [ cheers ]
