the weather watchers are helping to tell the story. monticello cooler at 43. that was the cooler spot on the map. the wind is going to fill in. and it's a cooler wind and anywhere from 9 to 20 degrees cooler. in the city today, more clouds will fill in. parts of the area a degree or two two warmer, but with the breeze, feeling cooler, make sure you're ready for that. cloud cover through the city, nassau, suffolk, and south jersey as well. to the south. there's a low. right there. that in combination with the building high will intensify our winds, but the high should block and keep us dry. we need the rain.

visit to new york. for a full list of the closures, go to cbsnewyork.com. ahead of the pope's visit, cardinal dolan plans a special announcement regarding the scholarships to catholic schools relate together funding of the inner city schools. the archdiocese says 70% of the families live at or below the poverty line. dolan made the announcement on east 56th street. ten shootings and eight people killed since saturday night. >> overnight a cab driver shot and kill in the bronx. ilana gold live from the shooting scene with more. >> reporter: the cab driver was shot and killed on east 189th street and beaumont avenue, and you can see dozens of his friends and his widow are out here.

his death. they said the victim was momadi bobadi. police are looking for the person who shot and killed a cab driver at 1:30 this morning. police found the 39-year-old victim shot in the head in a lincoln towncar, and the nypd needs your help in tracking down this suspected in the surveillance video. he shot and killed three men untuned morning. originally he was lingering by the recycling bins, and then he's reported running away after his alleged crime. >> you don't see this in your neighborhood. this is sad. >> reporter: neighbors woke up to police scouring the courtyard where the shooting happened. police found two of the victims shot in the head. 76-year-old herbert brown was shot in the stomach.

cbsnewyork.com. a cab driver has been shot and killed during a violent weekend in the city. ten shootings and eight people killed since saturday night, ilana gold has the latest from the shooting scene in the belmont section of the bronx. ilana. >> reporter: police are on the scene here at east 189th street and belmont avenue. they got a 911 call this morning, and that's when they found the cab driver unresponsive in his car. here's a closer look at the scene. police say the victim 39-year- old barry mommadu was shot in the head. the victim's family and friends have been out here for the last few hours, breaking down in shock. we just talked to his brother, and he says he leaves behind a pregnant wife and three children. the victim was killed during a robbery at the end of his shift. happened. like, you know, taxi drivers
