5:10 am
wind chill, the wind chill in the city right now is the air temperature with light winds but some single digits wind chills up state as well. here is what we're looking at relatively quiet, beautiful for viewing planets right now, clouds will takeover tonight here is the system bringing snow to parts of the ohio valleyly and a snow chance to us and this is this low that still has all of this real estate to cover and push through during the course of today, tomorrow, and then friday during the day. two competing models i want to share with you one far more bullish on potential photos, let's time it out for you even as early as 1 a.m., there is snow in the area and roads will be slippery. then during the course of the day on saturday between 1 and 6 you're up to an inch in the city, parts of south jersey already at 5 inches. during the day on saturday, wind will intensify, snowfall rates will as well.
5:11 am
on saturday, you are already at the potential for 7 inches of snow in the city, a foot to the south. this thing now goes into sunday, so by the time this thing all wraps up you're looking at 14 inches of snow, 14 inches of snow. maybe 16 inches of snow in sparta this is the gfs. european model which has been very accurate is now pushing a little to the south, that trend started yesterday. so you're fine all the way through saturday morning not even a 10th of an inch you are fine getting around saturday morning and during the day very slow to get much traction out of this storm, so between saturday morning and saturday at 11 p.m., only 3 inches of snow and then you see those more significant totals settle in during thedy on sunday. so there is about a 6-inch spread as far as potential of the city north and west. the one thing these models don't show this is designed to show you potential snowfall is the wind.
5:12 am
going to be, will be a key could be wind gusts still fine tuning parameters as far as totals thankfully none of that right now and it's been pretty quiet. what's going on now? >> just a cool drive we'll take a look an accident blocks two lanes on the tappan zee there is no major delays as of yet. a truck fire has two lanes blocked on route 287 northbound near exit 30, may nor delays through the area checking mass transit, new jersey transit and long island railroad. alternate side parking is in affect city wide. mary? the -- the word from the port authority after years of construction delays and cause
