robbing and attacking a woman in the van ness section of the bronx. paula santos was slashed at morris park and holland avenues around midnight. she post the photos of the injury on facebook and said she was pushed, kicked and robbed. she said: tonight, a grieving family wants to know how and why a brooklyn woman died at a coney island hospital. her husband blames hospital staffers claiming that they mocked his wife and then ignored her as she lay dying in the emergency room last month. cbs 2's steve langford reports on this alleged wrongful death. >> she is not hooked up to anything. she hasn't seen no doctor. >> reporter: jorge matos struggling to describe his wife's last hours at the emergency room of coney island hospital a nightmare he says the moment they were rushed here by ambulance.

complaints with the state health department. they left her there to die. >> reporter: coney island hospital not returning our calls for comments. steve langford, cbs 2 news. >> family lawyers say they have not yet filed suit against the hospital for what happened there on february 1. the new york state department of health also has not yet responded to our calls for comment. a woman was mugged at gunpoint outside a green acres mall in valley stream long island. police say the 60-year-old woman was in the macy's parking lot yesterday afternoon when a man armed with a handgun approached her. he demanded her rings that and she gave them up. he ran from the scene. the woman was not hurt. claims of sexual abuse during class at a nassau county school. two females students say their substitute teacher touched them inappropriately. cbs 2's magdalena doris is in port washington with the story. >> he should not be near children. that's really what it is. he should not be near children. >> reporter: court documents say james ervin told victims

happened. the alleged abuse taking place inside of a classroom during class at a middle school. victims told police that the teacher touched their thigh, pelvis and buttocks and after asking him to stop, investigators say that's when the threats came. after posting bail set at $5,000, he made a quick exit from the nassau county district court house. he has been charged with two counts of sexual abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child. his lawyer says the victims aren't being truthful. >> this is a fabrication. it's a complete and total fabrication. it's a bizarre set of circumstances to say the least. >> reporter: parents say it's a reminder to talk to your kids. >> we talked about the fact that there are these people out there and you have to be smart and be aware. >> reporter: the defendant has two orders of protection against him now. the school district says he is no longer working for them.
