hardman says he was attacked in front of the store. he says he was in the parking lot on his way into the store when the suspect stopped him and asked him for the time. he told him it was 1:00 and that's when he says he was attacked. >> got on top of me and he grabbed me around the neck and started hitting and hitting and hitting. and finally gets me to the ground and he takes my walker and starts hitting me with the walker. >> reporter: and the thief got away his wallet and even his walker. police say they have a lead though. detectives say they believe the suspect took off in this blue dodge. a witness said the license began with the letters gka. and police believe that it was a random act. they say the robber is a man between the age of 29 to 35 years old, 6 feet the tall, 200 pounds and was wearing dark

due to negligence by a pinellas county nursing home. >> this happened back in may at gracewood rehab nursing care in pinellas county. news channel 8's meredyth censullo is in the tampa newsroom this morning. meredyth, what's the latest in this case? >> reporter: well, today we will hear from the man who was appointed as the health care proxy or guardian for wilbert moten. he is frustrated no one has been held accountable for death. the 65-year-old man suffered second degree burns and dehydration when he was allegedly left outside in 90- degree heat for hours. he has no living relatives, mobility issues and psychiatric problems. he lived at the facility for years. police say he died from heart failure. the guardian seen in an interview with news channel 8 now wants legislation that prevents such negligence from

state representatives and he will lay out the proposed legislative changes today. news channel 8 will be there and we will have more after this morning's press conference. you will find that on gene and gayle -- >> very important. thank you, meredyth. well, thousands of itt tech students are trying to figure out their next move after their school shut down. now one college many hillsborough county stepping in to help. this morning country including the -- campuses across the country including the one in tampa are locked up tight. they are helping students transfer into programs at hcc that might lead to a degree. we spoke with one tampa student who was just about to finish her nursing degree. >> whatever reason they had for closing, i just -- just let the students that really want their career finish.

you want to make a better life for yourself. you want to reach that goal. and it's hard when somebody just takes it away from you like that. >> itt tech claims they closed because of major financial problems. in a few months, construction will start on a rope adventure and zip line course in largo. city commissioners approved a deal a company to build the new attraction. we flew drone 8 over the highlands recreation complex where the course will this is what the zip line looks like in bradenton. visitors are tethered to a harness and riders zip from platform to platform. the owner promises people will love it. >> we will be a great neighbor. we are excited about the project. i understand people's concerns. there's always concern when there's change. but we are a quiet activity. >> the owner of the zip line wants to open soon after the new year starts. well, walt disney world is

a scary situation for a 12- year-old in south florida. a burglar breaks into the home while the child is inside and. >> take a look at the video from inside and the home. the crook slips inside and through a window and snatches a laptop, jewelry and some passports. the boy says he was inside and his room watching tv when he heard a knock at the front door. he saw the burglar break in and ran into the bathroom.

washington state is facing backlash for hiring her. hundreds of people left negative comments on the school's facebook page. the amish are known for having simple life styles but this morning a group of amish teens are behind bars for throwing a wild underage drinking party. not only are they facing charges of drinking underage, some are charged with resisting arrest two. at least two people were related illnesses. and a story that will give you goose bumps this morning. a third clown sighting in north carolina. a man says he spotted a clown in a wooded area behind an apartment complex. he claims the clown was wearing a halloween mask with a yellow polka dot shirt. police don't know if the sightings are connected to others in south carolina. officials say the clowns tried to lure kids into the woods.
