in their direction. investigators say they saw a dark suburban drive away, but at this point, they did not determine if the vehicle was involved. deputies did not return fire and no one was injured. take a look at this video, you can see damage to video chairs -- an eye witness who was a trained firefighter said he and another person tried to help those who were hurt. >> i'm used to showing up after the damage is done, i'm not used to showing up while it is going on. it's sure real, scary. >> the four victims have been released from the hospital.

just cool enough to give us a little chill to the air as we head into our afternoon. next front is this morning, pushing through, we are going to usher in an onshore flow over the course of the next 48 hours, giving us more cloud coverage as we head into monday and tuesday, but not today. pristine sunshine is what we will enjoy for our sunday, which is fantastic. our next front doesn't move in until next weekend. high pressure is taking over as it moves into the atlantic, it's going to bring a huge southerly wind of warm and moist air into our neighborhoods, so that means mid-to upper 80s as we get our warmest temperatures of the year moving into heading in to today, our last cooler day. >> we'll be topping out at 76

9 investigates discovered a children's dentist accused of hurting his young patients and potentially defrauding medicaid has opened an office in claire. his license was suspended involving a four-year-old that stopped breathing under anesthesia. it has since been reinstated. his medical office was the subject of medicare fraud. in polk county, deputies still searching for two men behind and armed car-jacking. it happened avenue j northwest

one man armed with an assault rifle, the other with a handgun. 45 minutes later, deputy found the abandoned vehicle. >> >> an orange county teacher speaking out because he is saying bullying keeps getting worst and nothing is being done about it. he asked us not to show his face because of fear of retaliation. he says he sees bullying in his classroom every day and he feels like the school district is not doing enough. >> one incident with my students where i reported it. none of the victims were spoken to and the bully was never reprimanded. >> a parent at the school said his son has talked about committing suicide because of bullying.

this morning several presidential candidates are celebrating big wins after super tuesday. hillary clinton and donald trump are still the front- runners, but their rivals added wins. good morning, it's sunday march 6th. time is 7 30:00. let's get you outside, a live look over downtown orlando this morning. >> it's a beautiful day. we saw that cold front move through earlier this morning. but because of the cold front, we are seeing some concerns along the coastline. we've got a small craft advisory in effect and also high rip current risks. if you're going to be boating or swimming in the atlantic, make sure you heed those warnings.

volusia, brevard and marion. orange and lake counties opened last week. donald trump spent part of super saturday campaigning here in orlando. >> look up there, camera. look up there at the protestor, camera. >> thousands of people filled the arena at ucf. protestors were removed more than a dozen times. trump supporters say he's not the person being portrayed by the media. >> it's a different pick in there. he's not the bigot. he's going to save this place. >> he's playing to people's fears and anger, how other politicians have carried themselves. >> trump says he's confident he'll beat senator marco rubio in the florida primary. he also promised to help floridians looking for work. orange county state troopers say two people were killed in a crash after a

it happened friday night at the intersection of avalon and mckinney roads. the victims weren't wearing seat belts. the driver ran the stopsign and ran into the side of a van. five others were treated at a local hospital. woman accused of crashing into a camping area at the daytona speedway is out of jail. we told you about this story yesterday. police believe she was drunk when she crashed. channel 9's angela jacobs talked to witnesses. >> reporter: these witnesses could believe what they were seeing when they watched a black truck veer off the road and plow through vehicles and people. >> they didn't see it coming. >> reporter: they took us to the wreckage, all left behind

abbey mckinney careened into the crowd. >> thankfully everyone is alive. >> reporter: the men say they tried to aid the best they could, but felt helpless. >> i didn't have my gear or anything. i'm not an emt, but trained in medical care. >> reporter: police say kin e told an officer after the crash, i shouldn't have been drinking. it also notes she had three beers while a breathalyzer showed twice the legal limit. >> a lot of people's lives were changed because of this. it's pretty sad. marion county deputies are asking for your help in the search of a missing teenager. investigators say he hasn't been seen since friday night when he left his home on

his family says he recently made comments that have them worried for his safety. he may be driving a 2004 white ford explorer with ohio tags. we now know when three suspects accused of gunning down a 19-year-old woman outside an ocala nightclub will go to court. the three will go to trial in september. investigators say they shot and others. prosecutors believe the men shot into a crowd outside of the club nine nightclub on south pine avenue last september. a judge in volusia county grants bond for three suspects accused of pointing a gun at a toddler during a robbery. investigators say they tried to rob two women in a parking lot. this happened at the winn-dixie in deltona friday. deputies say boss pointed a gun at a 2-year-old child, but the women fought back. the women had minor injuries

the suspects' get away vehicle. the child was not hurt. central florida expressway authority wants your input. you're invited to a meeting tuesday where you can help come up with ways to expand the road at 525. without an extension, local roads can't handle the traffic as the community grows according to a study. a motorcycle exploded at a local racetrack, leaving a man covered with third degree burns. >> we're waking up to 40s and 50s behind a cold front that moved through earlier this morning.

if you like the cooler weather, definitely get out there and enjoy the day today. 74 degrees at 4:00 in ocala with lots of sunshine. in seminole county and winter springs a lot of sunshine with a high of 75. in daytona beach, we'll be looking at plenty of sunshine and volusia and flagler county the upper 60s today. 69 for the high, where as brevard county will be in the low 70s. this morning orange county emergency responders are trying to figure out why a helicopter was late in picking up a victim at a local speedway. this video captured the moment the motorcycle exploded last week. the victim's family said he was on fire for nearly a full minute, leaving more than of his body with third degree burns. >> what parts of the body were burned?

>> orange county rescue officials say they had to drive him 20 miles. the helicopter delay was due in port in switching responding helicopters. officials say it will take some time to determine what happened. orlando city soccer club will open up at home in a few hours. why a 19-year-old from oviedo could have a big impact on their success. >> local nonprofits are joining forces for an event they say could change the lives of thousands in central florida.

a number of nonprofits hope to fill the citrus bowl with homeless and change their lives on easter sunday. organizers are working now to invite the homeless living in motels, cars and camps in the woods. they'll offer sunday church service followed by free food, health strengthings, hair -- screenings and haircuts. >> most of them don't want to live here. they have a legal issue, medical issue and can't cycle themselves out. >> the group will collect a list of those in need throughout orange and osceola

you can see more with central florida spotlight today on channel 9 after channel 9 eyewitness news at noon. a lot of excitement already in the air this morning. >> you can feel it. i've had about four people ask me what the forecast is for the match today, and it's perfect. hopefully that will bring good luck to orlando city so they can win their home opener. daytona beach looking lovely this morning. i've seen a lot of people enjoying their morning walk out there, and you can see winds are pretty quiet for now. but they'll be out of the northeast up to 20 miles per hour along the coast as we head into the afternoon. satellite radar is showing clear conditions. we're going to continue to see lots of sunshine today and we'll start to see a little more cloud coverage the rest of the work week. front has passed so it's just a touch cooler. as we head into the work week we won't be using the word cool as a huge warmup is in store over the next five days. 46 ocala. 50 deland and daytona beach.

in kissimmee with winds out of the north-northwest at 5 to 15 miles per hour and that's pretty much where we'll stay as we head into the day today. could get gustier along the coast. mostly sunny this afternoon. it will be nice and breezy out of the north, making things feel comfortable. clear tonight. cool temps into monday morning. then the sky's the limit. upper 80s heading into late next week. high pressure will set up shop in the atlantic and as it stays there it will drive a huge southerly wind into our neck of the woods, that will create warm and moist summer-like pattern for our work week ahead. next chance for rain next saturday. next weekend we'll start to see changes again. average high this time of year is 77. we'll hit that as we head into the day today. and then we're going to really start to warm up as we move in through the week. we're talking 88 degrees by friday. it is getting warm, folks, and

state lawmakers are negotiating a bill that would provide at least $200 million for everglades restoration. the state house approved the bill last week. it provides funding for 10 years. the senate's version provides only $145 million. it also includes money to care for the springs, lake apopka and other natural lands. prepare for a road closure in titusville. today crews hope to wrap up the second phase of a new trail and pedestrian bridge. they're being built on the

it will get so crowded there in a couple of hours, as we see the season opener for orlando city today kicking off on a beautiful note. it's going to be gorgeous today. we saw a cold front move through a few hours ago leaving us with clear skies and cooler temps. it's not a drastic change, but it's enough to give us a cool breeze during the day today and make things super comfortable. 57 in downtown orlando. 60 in cocoa beach and 52 daytona beach. north northwesterly winds 5 to 15 miles per hour now and that's where we will stay as we head into the day today. cool breeze that will keep mid- 70s inland feeling like 60s. i have advisories if you'll be heading to the beach today, as well as that full orlando city forecast coming up. this morning donald trump, senators ted cruz and bernie sanders are celebrating after

new from overnight, orange county deputies trying to figure out what sparked gunfire colonial drive. deputies responded to the trespassing call. deputies say they heard gunshots coming from behind the their direction. investigators say they saw a dark suburban drive away, but haven't determined if it was involved. no one was injured. the cocoa beach woman who police say was drunk when she crashed her car at the daytona national speedway is out of jail. abbey mcdaniel kenny crashed into the infield camping area of the speedway yesterday morning police say. you can see the damage to campers, vehicles and even chairs. at least four people were taken to a local hospital. an eyewitness who is a trained firefighter said he and another person tried to help.

the accident is already done. i'm usually not a witness. surreal. scary. >> a breathalyzer showed kenny had a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit. four victims have been released from the hospital. kenny is facing several dui charges. three more families of sailors who died in the sinking of the el far row cargo ship have settled cases. in october the ship sank in the bahamas after sailing into hurricane joaquin. the u.s. coast guard tried to negligent. the owner of the ship has now settled with 14 families of the 33 crew members who died. one of those crew members was from the orlando area. two men out of jail, one bonded out last night. investigators say he and his sister were caught on surveillance video stealing a girl.

deltona wal-mart last weekend. winters bonded out of jail friday. searching for a man who robbed a bank in daytona beach and dropped the money outside the door. the man walked into the wells fargo saturday morning and passed a note to the teller that suggested he had a gun. the teller gave him the money in a brown paper bag, but a customer found the money in bushes. tomorrow thousands of drivers who use a busy stretch of downtown orlando road will have to find another way around it. garland avenue from colonial drive to just before orange avenue will shut down for more than a year. crews are building bridges and the onramp from colonial drive to i-4. if you normally take garland northbound, you can now take magnolia avenue instead. if you normally travel in the southbound direction, you can take orange avenue. you can get all of the updates on the i-4 widening project on

weekend always in view showing that gradual warmup and staying dry. our next cold front doesn't move into the region until next saturday. a brevard county woman says she lost $2,000 after falling for a scam from someone claiming to be from the irs. how deputies stopped her from losing more money. >> reporter: this brevard county woman was too embarrassed to give us her name. >> i am really gullible. >> reporter: she says somebody claiming to be with the irs in virginia left her a message. she called back and that's when she says the person on the other end told her she owed the feds money. >> you have to go to court on the 8th of march. or we'll take you to jail. that's all you hear. >> reporter: she hopped in her car and raced to this wells fargo bank in titusville to withdraw $2,000. she wired the cash to the

beginning. >> reporter: she told us the scammer on the phone told her because she took too long to send the money, she needed to wire over another 6,000 bucks. that's when she said deputies stepped in and pulled her over, after her husband called and told them he was worried. >> i was going to get more money, so thank he got the cops here. >> the irs says if you have a tax problem they will not contact you by phone. instead, they'll get a hold of you through the mail and they will not threaten you with an arrest, ask you to pay the debt with a money order or ask for your credit card information. we've reached out to both the brevard county sheriff's office and titusville police to check the status of this case, but we have not yet heard back. two major gambling proposals are dead in tallahassee and another one doesn't appear to have much of a chance. one of the proposals would have allowed slot machines across much of the state.
