at the central bahamas and huge changes the next 24 hours and expected as 5:00 a.m. track which is the newest to go about 200 miles offshore from nantucket so that would keep it out to sea. i will have more on that coming up today more rain and more for the cape and islands and southeastern massachusetts is where i have the showers hovering right now. notice boston dry through about 9:00 a.m. and then by lunchtime we have actually got the showers getting up to about the mass pike, temperatures barely move at all, dress for upper 40s now and low to mid-50s for the afternoon. that's it. 5:00 p.m. your drive home from work involves some very patchy showers north of the mass pike even up into new hampshire and still the steady rain in southeastern massachusetts where we get some of the worst of the winds, 52 to 58, cool and wet with 50 miles per hour gusts for the cape and islands and more on the latest track for hurricane joaquin in a couple of minutes

morning, we are getting more details after the shooting at small community college in oregon. right now ten people are dead including the shooter. seven others wounded and three of them are in critical condition in this hour and identified as 26-year-old christopher harper mercy. he was from the area and died following the shootout with police and authorities also recovered three pistols and rifle from the scene and father of one of the people injured he is providing new insight into his motive. >> man had enough time, i don't know how much time elapsed he was able to stand there and start asking people one-by-one what their religion was. are you a christian he would ask them and if you're a christian stand up and they had stand up and he said good because you're a christian you're going to see god in just about one second and then shot and killed them. >> the details right before his daughter went into surgery last night as 18-year-old daughter

expected to survive. he told television crew on the scene that she played dead when the shooter walked around the room. one law enforcement says the shooter was heavily armed and prolonged gun fight for police and crews from the sister station on the street right now in roseburg and checking in with them as new details come in this morning. newsroom, daniel miller, fox25 news. gun control will be a major topic for lawmakers once again because of this shooting. a frustrated president obama addressed the nation on what was his fifteenth statement on a mass shooting since taking office. >> but we are not the only country on earth that has people with mental illnesses or want to do harm to other people. we are the only advanced country on earth that sees these kind of mass shootings every few months.

outside the manchester police department with new clues that have this case called suspicious. >> gene, one of the biggest clues car park blocks away from where the roommate lived and behind the gate and car actually owned by one of the roommates. family and friends are heart sick after suing hutchinson disappeared september 20th. >> we miss her. she is listening and needs to get back home. >> one day later her roommate steven bishop also disappeared. day after that his car was found parked blocks away from the manchester home. police have now taken that car, this 1992 buick century into evidence and searching for another car owned 2055 silver bmw with the atlantis plate

cecil lee is accused of killing well-known owner of restaurant in 2011. his attorney wants a baseball cap found at the crime scene excluded from evidence. the defense claims crime lab employee that handled the cap failed two different proficiency tests. the cap reportedly contains dna from lee. new this morning building struck by car overnight in lowell and happened at merrimac and prescott streets around 2:00 this morning. according to photographer at the scene the building appeared to be vehiclant and unclear if anyone was injured in the crash and inspectors are due at the scene later this morning. for the second time this year suffolk county resident has died from west nile virus. latest victim a woman in her 90s. the department says it is the sixth human case of mosquito borne illness in massachusetts and despite the cooler temperatures it is still peak season for the infection. six students at lowell high school suspended after racially charged messages turned up

online. more than a dozen students were involved. the lowell sun reports this all happened tuesday after an african-american student was elected class president. that student telling the sun that someone even mentioned lynching and claimed to have been joking and school official are still investigating. this morning a worcester man has died days after being hit by suspected drunk driver. 46-year-old george verdict was removed from life support yesterday. verdictic was hurt and sister killed after being struck by a car last saturday. daniel depew facing multiple charges including injury causing death and in court later this month. a wenham family holding a charity fundraiser to raise money for epilepsy. relatives of the trustee family are hosting this event. in july joseph trustee and

classroom and opened fire on the students killing nine people. fox25 daniel miller following new developments overnight and you got new details right now, daniel, about what authorities have found in that gunman's apartment this morning. >> that's right, sara, national news outlet said overnight authorities located number of firearms in the gunman's apartment and wouldn't elaborate how many but said details would be released in next news conference. as for what happened at first day of classes, small community college the witness accounts are just horrifying. ten people are dead including the shooter. seven others wounded and three of them in critical condition this morning and gunman has been identified as christopher harper mercer he died followed a shootout with police. one student describes what she heard and witnessed.
