in waltham and police found the bodies yesterday afternoon and investigation happened well into the night. >> reporter: and they actually spent hours gathering evidence. i'm outside of police headquarters this morning. we were called to that home around 5:00 yesterday afternoon and that's when they found the two people dead inside. this is a look at video from when our crews arrived at that scene yesterday, hours, again, spent hours -- officers, rather, spent hours going through that home. and it. as they were focusing their investigation on the first floor of that home. so far the police haven't released the names of people involved or a possible motive. those are questions we'll be asking the d.a.'s office today. however, our crews spotted an officer taking yellow markers into that home and those markers are typically used to indicate bullet shells. but police haven't said exactly how those people died. we did speak with neighbors yesterday.

pretty much holding steady in the middle 30s. high temperatures up to 36 say around falmouth and 37 back to new bedford, back here guard near 34 degrees all of these running seasonably chilly for the day today. let's look at future cast, here's system number one in florida. now it's going to pass by to our east may clip our south coast with at least a chance of some snow as we head into the early evening tonight the. there's 6:00 this evening, notice the cape and islands just a chance for a light dusting. then heading into the night tonight, the system comes out of the great lakes, a lot of developing. we'll be watching very closely with where a coastal trough makes that up and that's going to dictate where we see heavier snow squalls try to develop. here's the european, looks like a good shape, inch or two in

we're pinpointing that, again, start to see one of those coastal troughs develop into the night tonight and into tomorrow. overnight lows, boston at 28, even see a freeze the cape and islands. certainly cold enough for all of us to get snow. the snow moves out of here tomorrow afternoon. then the winds come in, check this out. 5:00 monday. 20 miles per hour winds. that's going to lead to the wind chill problems. not so much tomorrow morning. but watch what happens as we head into the afternoon. single digit wind chills and even subzero wind chills by tuesday morning. so we'll really have to bundle up back at it tuesday morning. there's your sunday, the snow coverage coming up here the next couple of hours and into the morning time tomorrow, i should say. by the end of next week, we're already tracking our next nor'easter that could be moving in. i'll have more on that as we get closer. >> heather: all right.

. >> michael: welcome back, a young boy making a difference by helping wounded veterans. the brockton 10-year-old created a nonprofit to help them deal with ptsd. mark ockerbloom reports, a part of the process is matching them with pets. >> reporter: he wanted to make an impact in his community, his goal to raise money for paws for pets, a north carolina organization that specializes in special service dogs. a few months back, he was post-traumatic stress disorder and came across a story about the program and from that moment mission. >> a girl was raising money for her dad to get a ptsd dog.

and the bodies found in a waltham home yesterday afternoon. >> michael: fox 25 stephanie coueignoux is live in waltham where, stephanie, police were on the scene well into the night. >> reporter: and michael, police spent hours gathering evidence at that home on forest street. as you can see, i'm here this morning outside of police head quarters. they were first called to that home around 5:00 yesterday afternoon. and that's when they discovered those two people dead inside. take a look, though. this is video just after our crew arrived at that home yesterday afternoon. and it appears that police were focusing their investigation on the first floor of that home. so far police haven't released the names of the people involved or a possible motive. and those are questions that we will continue to ask the district attorney's office today. however, our crew spotted an officer taking yellow markers into that home. and those markers are typically used to indicate bullet shells.

exactly how those people died. that's also another question we'll be asking. we did speak with neighbors. they didn't want to go on camera. but one woman told us a married couple lives in that home. the d.a.'s office also wants to stress this was an isolated incident. and the public is not in any danger. of course as soon as we receive an update about this apparent murder suicide, we will let you know. but coming up in 30 minutes, the evidence we saw police taking from that home during that investigation. in waltham, i'm stephanie coueignoux, fox 25 news. >> heather: switching gears, the return of gronk and julian edelman taking center stage. playing a big role as the pats take down the red hot chiefs. they weren't so hot last night, the win happening at home, adding icing to the cake here. here's tom leydon with more on that win and what's in store now for the pats as they head on to the afc championship game for the fifth straight time in a

and it's going to be a bitterly cold end to our holiday weekend here by tomorrow night. so i'll tell you more about those wind chills that we'll be feeling. temperatures right now in the upper 20s and lower 30s. in fact, norwood at 27 degrees. so seasonably chilly. there could still be slick spots on the roads because we had all of that rain and snow mixed yesterday. that could be freezing up this morning. so a heads up for drivers early on. we'll be in the mid 30s for highs today, and keep it drive in places like norwood for the auto early evening. but i do want to take you southeast, the cape and islands and south coast where we could see snow moving in here as we head into the early evening. right now 37 nantucket. pretty much what you see what is you get on the temperatures. clouds build up later in the day. and snow chance start to reappear. mid 30s, it's chilly out there.

looking mid 30s there with most cloudy skies. you see those clouds building in hour by hour through the afternoon. again, the vineyard over toward nantucket, a chance for a snow shower, as early as 5, 6:00 this evening. afternoon highs in the low to mid 30s as you go to the west as well. hudson at 34, lawrence as well at 34 degrees. look at future cast where the two storms are that i'm tracking. one over florida. and another system back here over the great lakes. so this area of low pressure winds up, passes well off shore. but you see our southern areas getting clipped by a little bit evening. and the model showing a rain snow line. but it should be cold enough for all of us to have snow. so we'll pretty much disregard that and realize a good coating of snow possible overnight tonight into tomorrow.

in some locations and the higher amounts north and possibly even here around the cape if the coastal trough starts to set up, inches. so overnight lows tonight mostly in 20s. we all get down below freezing. >> i want to show you the winds. up 15, 20, even 30 miles an hour after sunrise tomorrow through the evening tomorrow, the wind problem. let's take a look, monday, 4:00, these are your wind chills. 6, bedford, 7, boston. 10 plymouth. we're really going to have to layer up. into tuesday morning, subzero wind chills are going to be a concern. tuesday morning, have the coat, hat, gloves, scarf, the entire mix of winter gear. on wednesday, it's not much better, but a little bit. it's still breezy. thursday, winds are tapering down. so it's seasonably cold but a little more tolerable. by the end of next week, tracking our next storm.

light today. increasing clouds. and our chance 6 snow staying away for the most part until 6, 7:00, that's the south shore first. and then into the night tonight, that chance begins to rise. talk about who can see the most in a few minutes. >> heather: thank you, jason. developing this morning, the middlesex county district attorney is confirming the death of two people after they were found yesterday inside a waltham home. >> michael: this morning, those deaths are being looked at as a murder suicide. fox 25 stephanie coueignoux is live in waltham. and stephanie, police found the bodies yesterday afternoon and their investigation lasted well into the night. >> reporter: and michael, police spent hours gathering evidence at that home on forest street. as you can see this morning, i'm live outside the police headquarters. they were called to that home around 5 yesterday afternoon and that's when they found those two people dead inside. this is video that you're seeing right there. this is when our crew arrives at

and it appears that police were focusing their investigation on the first floor of that home. so far this morning, police still haven't released the names of the people involved or a possible motive. and those are questions that we're asking the district attorney's office today. however, our crews spotted an officer taking yellow, makers into that home. and these are markers that are typically used to indicate bullet shells. again, police also haven't said exactly how those people died. we did speak with a neighbor. now they didn't want to go on camera. but one couple told us a married couple lives in that home. d.a.'s office also wanted to stress that this was an isolated incident and the public is not in any danger. we're continuing to reach out to the middlesex county district attorney's office this morning. still early on this sunday morning. as soon as we receive an update, we will let you know. coming up in 30 minutes, the evidence we saw police taking

continues this morning, for three men who beat and robbed an elderly man in methuen. 77-year-old victim spoke with fox 25 off camera saying the three men blind sided him with an attack after he got items from his car in a parking lot around 8:30 friday night. they punched and kicked a man before running off with his things. it's a shocking attack that his friend and neighbor can't wrap his mind around. >> i can't believe it. he don't go after nobody. >> he was a robber, he was taken to the ground. he was punched several times, kicked to the face. >> michael: police are working to generate leads in the case. around the same time, they tried stopping a gray honda civic for a moving violation but the car didn't stop. the victim says he is feeling better. >> heather: it may sound like something out of a movie but in the coming years, we can expect to share the road with self-driving cars. which jacqueline tells us the government is expected to pay big bucks on it in order to get it right.

8:00, our forecast model showing that chance for a snow shower or two as we go down to the cape and islands, a better chance to see a few snow showers a little earlier this the evening. right now 34 and then at 6:00, that chance beginning to enter the picture for a few flakes along the south coast. so let's go to boston. the day planner today is just chilly. clouds start to build in. enjoy the morning sun. it's dry, 38 degrees 2:00. in the evening, watch out for that snow chance beginning to move back in. high temperatures, lower 30s, worcester to orange, mid 30s, norwood to plymouth. and chatham at 30 degrees today. over florida, that's going to pass largely to our south. system number two over the great lakes will really help to increase our snow chance overnight and into tomorrow. so there's system number one passing by here. there's 6:00, but notice our south coast starting to see a few snow showers. the model paint a little rain out here along the cape.

better to go ahead and paint all snow on this map. there's monday morning. waking up with some scattered snow showers. as far as of amounts, it looks like a coating to 2 inches is likely area wide. but notice where we're seeing the higher amounts, the higher terrain north and west, possibly parts of southern new hampshire, but also a bit of a bull's eye here, the vineyard and the cape because that coastal trough may set up a difference between warmer and cooler air and that could help to bump up some of the those snow totals in that area. waking up tomorrow morning in the mid to low 20s. it's going to be seasonably cold and the winds will start to kick in after sunrise tomorrow. so 2:00, 20 miles an hour winds area wide. so we're going to start seeing wined chills become a problem, especially midday into the afternoon tomorrow. there's monday at 4:00 on our holiday monday. we're seeing wind chills in the single digits. pretty much area wide. and then subzero wind chills

by helping wounded veterans. the 10-year-old created a nonprofit to help them deal with ptsd ptsd. as fox 25 mark ockerbloom reports, e going to get me for that one -- part of the report is matching them with one of the pets. >> reporter: he wanted to make an impact in his community. his goal to raise money for paws for pets. a north carolina based organization that specializes in training service dogs. a few months back, he was reading an article about post-traumatic stress disorder and came about a story about the program and from that moment on, he made helping others his mission. >> pretty much he was raising money for his dad to get a ptsd dog. and i thought, why not do that in. >> reporter: back in october, zeke and his mom, janice, created high five for soldiers which helps fund the training of service dogs. >> he came home from school one day, mom, i got it. i was reading about soldiers with ptsd and service dogs that's what i want to do.

>> posted. >> jason: good morning. this sunday. but we're already watching our next snow maker to be in here as early as this evening and even lasts until tomorrow. and then wind behind that system will mean wind chills. we're going to have to watch that very carefully heading out to wrap up our holiday on unin. bitter. and i'll have a look at how low we'll get. already seeing high clouds move in after a bright start a few hours ago in boston. now beginning to see those high clouds, 35 degrees, a light northwest wind. so very little wind compared to what we'll be seeing as we get into tomorrow. let's take a look at norwood. currently 44 degrees visibility just fine. up in the upper 30s for the most part of the day. not going to warm up a whole lot because clouds are thickening up.

evening, a few flakes flying. possibly early vineyard here. 37 degrees and warming up just a few more degrees and that's about all today. and then by 5:00, a chance of a few snow showers already appearing for the island. so afternoon highs in the low to mid 30s from worcester to boston. we'll be up to 34 in lawrence and clouds starting to build in. so it's just going to feel like a chilly afternoon for us. here comes our first system. that's going to pass by largely to our south. but i do think as early as about 5, 6:00, a few snow showers brushing the cape and islands. and then our next system comes in overnight from the great lakes. and that really helps to get heavier bands of snow going. and we'll watch carefully because along the coast we could see a trough set up where winds are meeting up and looks locally higher ams of snow. so overall a coating to two inches is likely. but you see how the model is painting higher amounts along the eastern shore line, possibly down towards the cape and islands as well.

so cold enough for snow everywhere. temperatures in the low to mid 20s in most locations. waking up tomorrow morning, it's cold but the indiana winds don't the morning. early afternoon. winds, 20th, 25 miles an hour tomorrow. that's going to cause wind chill issues. look at these wind chills dropping through the day. 4:00 tomorrow. single digits feels like numbers. and then waking up on tuesday morning, it's going to feel like below zero in most spots. so really going to of to put the layers on, heading back to it on a tuesday morning. the windy conditions arrive. scattered snow showers, and then dry for the better half of the week but then tracking our next weather maker by the end of the week into next weekend. still too early to tell the timing and the exact location. but right now, the models are indicating something coming by in the form of a nor'easter, guys for next weekend.

>> heather: thank you, jason. to developing news we're following all morning long. two people dead in a possible murder suicide in waltham. >> michael: fox 25 stephanie coueignoux is live outside of the police station where she's been all morning. stephanie, police took some items from the house after it all ended. >> reporter: and michael, our crew actually saw police taking two rifles from that home on forest street. again, i'm outside police headquarters as they continue their investigation. and this morning, still a lot of questions remain. police haven't released the names of the two people involved how they died or any information about a possible motive. but take a look. this is some video after crews arrived at that scene yesterday afternoon. police say someone had called them at about 5:00 in the afternoon. and asked them to check on the people living in that home on forest street. while we arrived, that's when officers found two people dead inside. again, this morning, the district attorney's office says

suicide. now, aside from the two rifles police took of out of that home, we also saw police taking two bocks as well. in a statement overnight, the d.a.'s office stressed this is an isolated incident, the public is not in any danger. we also spoke with a neighbor. she didn't want to go on camera. but she did tell us that a married couple lives in that house and we're continuing to reach out to the district attorney's office to get more information as soon as we get an update, of course, we'll let you know. in waltham, i'm stephanie coueignoux, fox 25 news. >> heather: to other news, this is new this morning. an american is among the victims of a deadly terror attack at a west african hotel. we've now learned that 45-year-old michael riddering. was there. he was a missionary in burkina faso. he is a florida native and running an orphanage and a woman's crisis center with his wife. riddering was killed in a cafe that was attached to the hotel

for this sunday for a change. snow developing this evening into the early night hours and wind and bitter cold as we round out this holiday weekend. so i'm going to have all of these numbers for you coming up. temp right now 35 in boston. started out with a bright sky. right now the skies begin to thicken up a little bit here ahead of our next storm system back to our south and west currently sitting at 39 in worcester. temperatures won't warm up much more today. we'll climb today in the mid 30s. hold it there because the cloudsic thissen up. notice by 9:00, snowflakes in the out look. and we'll see that happen a little bit sooner in places like the vineyard and nantucket. sitting in the mid 30s here and warm into the upper 30s and then start to see a few flakes possible as early as 6, 7:00, southern areas impacted first for a chance of some snow and middle of the night, that chance starts to increase even more. afternoon highs, there you go

you see is what you get. we'll have those numbers up encloses to 40 around nantucket. that will be the warmest spot on the map. second system back to the west. they're all converging on southern new england. the first one passes by to our south. the bulk of the precipitation of that out over the atlantic. we do get clipped here, south earn this areas and coastline with some of that moisture. there's that snow chance at midnight. if we see heavier bands set up along the coast. we could get, two, three, ams. cold front moving in early tomorrow morning with scattered snow showers along that as well. and you'll see how the model is painting the higher snow totals from plymouth up to say cape ann coating to two inches area wide. watch the higher terrain off to the west and possible parts of the shore line down to the cape higher amounts possible as we get some of those bands set up.

most of us off work, but those of us who have to get started watch out 20s area wide. freezing conditions with hazardous roads where those snow start to pile up. winds will kick in after sunrise. by 3:00 in the afternoon, 20, 25 miles an hour sustained winds. so wind chills begin to be a problem hour by hour throughout our monday. single digit feels like numbers by the end of the business on monday. on tuesday morning, it just gets worse. we'll have negative wind chills. subzero readings. so lots of layers. that's what we'll need on tuesday morning. really, wednesday stays fairly breezy as well. so a period of bitter cold in here on monday night. especially tuesday. so i'll have that 50% snow coverage later this evening into early monday. then it blows out of here, just left with the cold and the wind. by the end of the week, we're already tracking our next storm system. still too early to tell when and how much.
