sara, over to you. we are following breaking news right now in middleton. this right here is a picture of a fire burning on forest street. quite a bit of smoke there. there are no reports of injuries. we do have a photographer headed to the scene and we will let you know more when we get new information. a 4-year-old boy in a boston hospital this morning after being hit by a car while out trick or treating. >> that boy is recovering from severe injuries. there are questions this morning about whether or not face charges. fox25's jessica reyes is live in lowell this morning and jess, the driver took off from the scene after initially stopping. >> reporter: right, sara. we know that little boy is at tufts this morning for a serious cut to his head he got after the crash. he was trick or treating along this stretch in lowell when that driver hit him and police say she then took off. police did close down a stretch of this street for several

4-year-old little boy was out with his parents when that woman driving that silver car hit him. two people who live on the street said she briefly stopped and took off once again. however, someone here got her license plate number and police did stop her a short time later. a short distance from here. her car was towed and she was taken into questioning. no charges have been filed against her. the neighborhood was full of kids trick or treating at the time and a popular spot for trick or treating and one woman daughter's boyfriend was actual let one who called 911. >> the kid had bleeding and on the head on the side. >> reporter: that little boy was first taken to the hospital here in lowell and later moved to tufts in boston for his injuries. police say that cut on his head was pretty serious, but thankfully not life-threatening. once again at this point police have not yet said if that driver will face charges but we do know she was taken into custody last night and we, of

from the poll -- from the last poll that is, and about half of the polls were conducted prior to the revelation of the e-mails -- of clinton e-mail server found on former congressman anthony weiner's computer. the "new york times" have new donald trump tax documents from the '0s. trump used dubious methods of paying taxes. the methods were legal at the time but congress later banned trump has not commented on the article. hillary clinton's campaign continues to escalate its efforts to discredit james comey's disclosure of a revived e-mail investigation. the clinton campaign accuse him of applying a double standard to refuse to publicly discuss investigations of russian medalling in the president sharp election. comey has come under fire for his revelation last week of the discovery of e-mails belonging to clinton on former congressman weiner's computer.

sentence for corruption charges. the former mayor of lawrence william lantigua is apparently ready to run for office. lantigua is sending texts and making phone calls to city city councillors about another run for mayor. in 2013 he lost the position to current mayor dan rivera and moved to the dominican republic. his administration was caught up in a number of scandals and allegations. some staff members were charged with bribery what caused a boston fire truck and suv to collide. it happened at dartmouth and com ave in in the back bay. the suv hit the fire engine and the truck careened into eight parked cars and a tree was ripped from the ground. >> i was absolutely horrified by the sight of the fire truck on the sidewalk, a car had been thrown up into the corner and crushed.

a new bedford police officer is waking up in the hospital this morning after a confrontation with a group of dirt bikers. fox25's stephanie coueignoux is live in new bedford now, and stephanie, police people from this incident. >> reporter: they did and actually it was a four-mile pursuit. i just checked with new bedford police and they didn't have an update on the sergeant's condition, but at last check, sergeant trinidad was in serious condition with nonlife-threatening injuries. all of this happening yesterday at this very busy intersection at route 18 and elm street. a group of dirt bikers were riding dangerously around the city including on sidewalks

according to south coast today, 30 to 40 dirt bikes were at the intersection when some of them ran through a red light. police eventually arrested those riders four miles away at the former flag ship cinema on kingshighway. but when officers are were arresting those riders one of them identify as 24-year-old carlos gonzalez ran sergeant trinidad over which is bike. charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. police also arrested eight other men, all nine are scheduled to appear in court today. i am checking in with police and while i was at that busy intersection, i did see a number traffic cameras. now asking if they have video of this incident. of course, as soon as i have an update, i will lit know. in new bedford, stephanie coueignoux, fox25 news. they are saying the cap on charter schools is an upcoming issue on the massachusetts

little boy is doing. as soon as we get more information, we will pass this to you on the fox25 morning news. live in lowell, jessica reyes, fox25 news. the driver in another hit-and-run is being held on $2500 bond this morning. police say sunday night dexter mitchell slammed into a woman and her young twin daughters in salem. the herald reports police found the 10-year-old girls lying 25 feet apart with their blood-covered mother going back and forth between them. mitchell is accused of leaving the scene andhe and admitting to police that he had been drinking. despite that admission, he says his client was not driving out of control. >> with regard to the facts in this cases there no evidence from any of the witnesses he was operating anyway negligent. one driver said he was driving at the same speed as shevls. >> mitchell's license was suspended because we not agree to take a breathalyzer test pa dorchester elementary school student is facing charges after officials found an unloaded gun

arrested yesterday morning at william monroe trotter school in a phone message sent out to parents, administrators say the boy was disciplined through the school. bpd charged the child with unlawful possession of a gun on school property. a leominster man remains in custody accused of raping a student at the school through an interpreter. andy tow pled not guilty in court. accused of forcing himself on a teenager last week. his other and what happened was consensual. halloween may be over but the search for a masked assailable that attacked a mbta employee is still under way. transit police released this video of a suspect running from the cedar grove t-stop early sunday morning. he dressed up as a horror film character and a2e679ed to board the trolley without paying a fare. he dragged the driver from the train and beat him leaving the

rate than other names for rides were not cancelled. no difference in the wait time based on a person's name. and in boston, researchers sent a single student out with two uber profiles to compare the experiences of one name to the other using both a male and female name. >> when the name that a passenger used with as a dipcally african-american name, they were more than likely to have the trip accepted and then cancelled. >> reporter: researchers booked rides with lyft using the same experiment and did not find the same cancellation rates. that could be because the different ways lyft and uber drivers found out about their riders. uber drivers do not learn the name of their passengers until after they accept the fare. l yft drivers receive the name and photo before accepting the ride. er says they will use the study to continue to reduce transportation inequalities.

fox25. things relatively calm in salem as people pack the streets for halloween. they only this to make two arrest. one for alcohol and the other for drugs. they did step up security and they think halloween falling on a monday could have help keep things calm. a man and his 3-year-old were flying from the girl was dressed as a doughnut and was upset that they had to fly on halloween, so the dad passed out candy and a note and explained the situation, and his daughter trick or treated down the aisle. a woman who works for twitter posted these pictures. they have gotten tens of thousands of likes and what a great move friday dad. dad of the year once again. >> shiri: he saved halloween.
