4-year-old little boy was out with his parents when that woman driving that silver car hit him. two people who live on the street said she briefly stopped and took off once again. however, someone here got her license plate number and police did stop her a short time later. a short distance from here. her car was towed and she was taken into questioning. no charges have been filed against her. the neighborhood was full of kids trick or treating at the time and a popular spot for trick or treating and one woman daughter's boyfriend was actual let one who called 911. >> the kid had bleeding and on the head on the side. >> reporter: that little boy was first taken to the hospital here in lowell and later moved to tufts in boston for his injuries. police say that cut on his head was pretty serious, but thankfully not life-threatening. once again at this point police have not yet said if that driver will face charges but we do know she was taken into custody last night and we, of

a new bedford police officer is waking up in the hospital this morning after a confrontation with a group of dirt bikers. fox25's stephanie coueignoux is live in new bedford now, and stephanie, police people from this incident. >> reporter: they did and actually it was a four-mile pursuit. i just checked with new bedford police and they didn't have an update on the sergeant's condition, but at last check, sergeant trinidad was in serious condition with nonlife-threatening injuries. all of this happening yesterday at this very busy intersection at route 18 and elm street. a group of dirt bikers were riding dangerously around the city including on sidewalks

according to south coast today, 30 to 40 dirt bikes were at the intersection when some of them ran through a red light. police eventually arrested those riders four miles away at the former flag ship cinema on kingshighway. but when officers are were arresting those riders one of them identify as 24-year-old carlos gonzalez ran sergeant trinidad over which is bike. charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. police also arrested eight other men, all nine are scheduled to appear in court today. i am checking in with police and while i was at that busy intersection, i did see a number traffic cameras. now asking if they have video of this incident. of course, as soon as i have an update, i will lit know. in new bedford, stephanie coueignoux, fox25 news. they are saying the cap on charter schools is an upcoming issue on the massachusetts

rate than other names for rides were not cancelled. no difference in the wait time based on a person's name. and in boston, researchers sent a single student out with two uber profiles to compare the experiences of one name to the other using both a male and female name. >> when the name that a passenger used with as a dipcally african-american name, they were more than likely to have the trip accepted and then cancelled. >> reporter: researchers booked rides with lyft using the same experiment and did not find the same cancellation rates. that could be because the different ways lyft and uber drivers found out about their riders. uber drivers do not learn the name of their passengers until after they accept the fare. l yft drivers receive the name and photo before accepting the ride. er says they will use the study to continue to reduce transportation inequalities.
