it is going to feel pretty cool, though. we're looking at some very breezy conditions throughout the day today. we'll actually keep things breezy into the weekend, as well. the cape currently under a wind advisory. that starts this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. that wraps up late tonight for us. wind gusts possible up to around 40mph. an here in boston, we could be looking at wind gusts up to around 30, 35mph. more on your full forecast and your weekend forecast coming up. >> sarah: all right. time now for fast track traffic with danielle gersh. >> danielle: hey, sarah. good morning, everyone. if you're getting ready to head out the door, not seeing any issues. ten minutes from braintree to boston. mostly green on the maps. for the most part you're in good shape. route 3, 24 and 95 no problems. the pike looking good all the way back the framingham. route 2 and 3 problem-free. and 93 fine all the way back to 495 heading into boston on route 1, you're in good shape this morning. let's take a look at those drive times if you're heading out the door. ten minutes braintree to boston northbound on the expressway, 12 minutes into town on the pike

93 southbound 128 to the zakim bridge, 11 minutes. both the "t" and commuter rail starting the morning on schedule. back to you, guys. >> christa: right to breaking news on this friday. protests in the streets of portland, oregon, turning violent. thousands took to the streets for a second night rallying against president-elect donald trump. so people arm themselves with rocks, they shatter windows and also set fires. >> sarah: and portland is just one of the cities seeing protests and demonstrations here. 7's kris anderson has breaking details. >> kris: good morning. you can seehe what began as protesting quickly turned into riots on the streets of portland, oregon. police say as many as 4,000 rioters took to the streets for a second night marching against the election of donald trump. right now we know police have detained several people, some of whom were armed with bats. demonstrators threw objects at police, broke windows, lit firecrackers and started a dumpster fire. things escalated as officers

you see some smoke there in the streets. ultimately police used pepper spray and flash-bang grenades, forcing the crowd to finally disperse. people were protesting outside the country, as well. hundreds marched through the streets of downtown vancouver, canada, last night. the protesters gathered at the new trump international hotel & tower and marched downtown, blocking traffic in the streets. some held signs that said, "build kindness, not walls," and "love trump's the president-elect is back on twitter taking on the protesters. trump tweeting, "just had a very open and successful presidential election. now professional protesters incited by media are protesting. very unfair." it's still unclear just how long these protests are going to continue, but we'll keep following them. live here in the control room, kris anderson, 7news "today in new england." >> christa: kris, thank you. meantime, president-elect donald trump is back in new york this morning expected to top with his transition team. trump met with president obama yesterday at the white house.

>> nancy: after his visit, trump watched the halls of congress with mitch mcconnell and got a look at where he'll be sworn in from house speaker paul ryan. his relationship with the republican leaders strained from the start, but now they're saying they're ready to work hand in hand with the president-elect. >> we had a fantastic, productive meeting about getting to work, pulling up our sleeves and going to work for the american people. >> nancy: as for trump, he's he says he's ready t enough. >> nancy: the current and future first ladies also meeting for tea. the two took a tour and discussed raising children in the white house. and we're told most of the meeting yesterday focused on the public's staffing and getting his administration organized. in the newsroom, nancy chen, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: developing now. a baby has died after being found unresponsive along with two adults inside a marlborough home. right now those two people are still in the hospital.

developing details. jen? >> jennifer: sarah, neighbors tell us the baby was a two-month-old boy. the district attorney's office confirms that a criminal investigation is ongoing. they say that is standard in a case where an infant dies. neighbors want to know what happened here. state police spent hours taking pictures inside this home in marlborough and of this blue car while bagging potential evidence at the scene. investigators confirm a baby and two adults were found unresponsive inse >> this should never happen. it should never happen to a child like that. >> police got the 911 call just before noon yesterday. when they arrived, the baby was rushed to the hospitals. >> it was shocking to see police cruisers on the street, never mind find out a young baby had died. >> jennifer: the unresponsive adults, a 19-year-old woman and 23-year-old man, are still in the hospital. >> kind of freaked out. usually nothing happens on this street. >> jennifer: neighbors say the

with her boyfriend and her mother. >> i thought they were all set. i don't know what's going on. >> you don't like the hear about little kids being hurt or anything like that. >> jennifer: so the middlesex district attorney's office is investigating. the department of children and families says that they are also involved in this case. we're live in marlborough this morning, jennifer eagan, 7news "today in new england." >> christa: right now two people are waking up behind bars after taking police on a wild ride. it started in connecticut and it crossed into the border of massachusetts. officeay two cars and also attacked two women. during their attempt to get away. let's go to 7's nicole oliverio with more on this really frightening story. nicole? >> nicole: well, christa, we know the two women that were stabbed in connecticut. they had serious injuries. but they're expected to be okay. mass state police say it was only minutes after that went out that troopers saw that stolen car. a car chase came to a crashing end in a worcester cul-de-sac

driveway. >> there was like 15 police cars and then it was like crashed to my car like this. i saw it from the window upstairs. i went downstairs to get my daughter. i was afraid gun shooting or something. >> state police finally caught up to and arrested the two suspect, man and woman from connecticut, after investigators there sent out a be on the lookout alert,ro massachusetts spotted the stolen s.u.v. and started chase. part of it call on a jewelry store surveillance camera, but the suspects couldn't get away after turning into a worcester neighborhood. >> i just saw cop car after cop car flying down the street, like it's very unusual because it's a dead end. nobody really goes very fast. so that got my attention. i think it's a very unusual choice for somewhere to run to because the whole neighborhood is very sealed off.

vehicle in connecticut in the morning and crashed. they then reportedly stole this s.u.v., stabbing and seriously injuring the two women inside. when mass state police noticed the s.u.v., police say the driver rammed into cruisers, trying to get away, before barreling into family's driveway. >> i was... i told her to get in the house, because that's something she could have done, or she could have threatening the police with me or my daughter. it was pretty scary. i was really shaking. >> now that couple, a 21-year-old man and woman both from connecticut are being held at the holden state police barracks. they'll appear in court on monday. live in worcester, nicole oliverio, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: an m.i.t. employee facing troubling charges. prosecutors say 23-year-old gannon leblanc was heavily armed and trying the pass himself offer as an f.b.i. agent when he tried to get into another employee's home.

handgun, ropes, zip ties and a stun gun in leblanc's possession. the victim says he immediately knew something wasn't right. >> and he said, "can i use your bathroom?" they were like, that doesn't sound right. >> we're going to work with our federal partners to conduct and investigation to determine what his motives were. >> sarah: police also found the names and personal information of four other employees in leblanc's backpack. >> christa: happening today, president obama will honor the nation'set the president will pay tribute by placing a wreath at the tomb of the unknowns and an annual service at arlington national cemetery. >> sarah: the music world is mourning the loss of a legend leonard cohen has died. he was best known for his hit song "hallelujah," which has been covered hundreds of times. there is no word yet on the cause of his death. cohen was 82 years old. what a legend.

jumped back an hour, and it happens at 1:00. so ronan's birth certificate reads 1:10 a.m. but mom an dad can step in, like we were there. an we know who came first. >> you were actually been first. that's funny, though. that's going to be a funny fight in the future, wren. >> wren: absolutely. well, we're looking at a pretty nice weekend. we're going to be a little cooler than what we've seen so far this work week, but no complaints here because we're staying dry and we're sin windy today and sunny, as well, but by the time we head into tomorrow, we're still going to be breezy, an we cool down even further after a cool front moves through and actually temperatures cooling off even into this afternoon. but again, we're staying dry. and breezy through your weekend. really no complaints here. and pretty comfortable november-like weather here. temperatures in the upper 40s. about 6 degrees above our average lows for this time of year. 51 degrees in p-town. 43 degrees in bedford. temperatures will warm up a good deal from here, but it will be short lived for us.

pushing into new england. showers to our northwest. that's where they should stay. i do think we have the slight chance for a couple sprinkles in southern new hampshire. perhaps northwestern mass. but here in boston and most of the state of massachusetts will actually stay dry throughout the day here. we this also have a wind advisory in effect for the cape. that starts this afternoon. wraps up late tonight. sustained winds up to around 35mph possible. wind gusts up to around 40mph are also possible. we're looking at breezy conditions throughout new england today. an that sticks aroundhr right now our winds are predominantly out of the west, but those are going to shift out of the northwest as that front does push through. already some sustained winds up to around 15mph in boston. 22mph winds in provincetown right now. and those sustained winds are going to continue to rev up as we head into the afternoon. so veterans day parades will be windy and dry. plenty of sunshine. temperatures in the mid-50s. i say this with just a little bit of hesitation because our highs are going to be around the early afternoon, potentially

fall. if you do have plans to stay outside into the afternoon. i would definitely bring a warmer jacket. we could be in the mid to upper 40s by the late afternoon. we see the coal front push through. by 5:00 we're ushering in cooler air while still sustaining those breezy winds and wind gusts very strong for us today. temperatures peaking around 11:00, potentially early afternoon in the mid-50s. as we head into the afternoon, temperatures do drop first from our northwest. then that cooler air pushes in further to time you're headed home from work. i do this many of us could be in the mid-40s, potentially upper 40s, as well. your 7 on 7 forecast showing temperatures tomorrow in the mid-40s. really the coolest weather we've seen in a while. but your weekend looking beautiful. temperatures quickly rebound for us as we head into sunday, close to 60 degrees. sunday and monday. >> christa: all right, wren, thank you. pair of bald's are also now free after they wound up getting stuck in a storm drain down in florida. roads had to be shut down during rush hour thursday as crews

one eagle was eventually able to fly away. workers had to pull the other eagle out of that storm drain. here's some applause in the background. initially some thought one bird was protecting the other, but experts say it's likely the eagles were fighting over territory. >> they can do just that. they get into a territory fight and they lock and they fall. they hang on for dear life. >> christa: so officials say the eagle that needed to be out just to make sure it's not injured. >> sarah: rhode island seeing stars for an inspiring red carpet premier. hire stole two cars and then stabbed a pair of women in connecticut. when troopers spotted the s.u.v. in worcester, police say the driver rammed into cruisers before barreling into a driveway. police say the women who were stabbed should recover. >> sarah: also this morning, an mbta bus driver is under investigation. police say he was involved in an accident with passengers on board then took off. let's go live to 7's victoria warren with more on the investigation. vicki? >> victoria: good morning, passengers. they were on the bus. they were here in melrose when police say that this bus driver crashed into a parked car. but the bus kept going. and it wasn't until they got to stoneham that police caught up to the driver. passengers on this mbta calling 911 after police say the driver crashed into a parked car and just kept going. that crash happened in melrose, and in this surveillance video, you can see when police caught up to the bus in stoneham.

influence of prescription drugs. sky over the scene. the 12 people who were on the bus safely got off. none of them were hurt. they got on another waiting bus while transit police continued investigating. the mbta says the drivers worked for them for 12 years. he's now accused of leaving the scene of an accident. the damage to the parked car in melrose described as minor. investigation is going on, this man will not be driving any bus, an he will be summons to court. live this morning in melrose, victoria warren, 7news "today in new england." >> christa: happening right now, reading police are encouraging people who live there to lock their doors in their cars after a string of break-ins. the latest one happening tuesday on prospect street. police say man entered a home which was unlocked and then took a large amount of jewelry. this is the third time this has happened in the past two weeks. >> sarah: police are stepping

alarming attack on a 14-year-old walking to schooling. this morning the community is on alert. 7's kris anderson joins us now with more on this. >> kris: scary moments as you can imagine. police are saying this teenager was assaulting while just walking to her bus stop. the call coming in just before 7:00 thursday morning, and according to officers, the girl was walking along puritan road when she was grabbed from behind around the neck, thrown to the ground by an unknown man. a witness saw the incident and started screaming and that's >> we are treating it as an assault and battery on a juvenile. there is no indication that there was any attempted abduction or anything like that. but it is concerning. >> kris: police say this man took off in a light-colored sedan. right now police do not think other children are in danger. but they are watching. live here in the newsroom, kris anderson, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: new details now, a judge ruling that statements a woman made to the police can be used in her manslaughter trial.

allegedly sent conrad roy text messages encouraging him to commit suicide. carter claimed her statements to the place were illegally obtained because she was not told she had a right to a lawyer. >> christa: the couple who filed a wrongful death lawsuit over the death of their one-year-old baby are being awarded $4 million. they're saying their irish nanny is responsible for the child's death in 2013. now, a murder charge was dropped against the woman by the name of that was dropped last year after a medical examiner later ruled the baby's death is undetermined in cause. the couple's attorney says the manny does not have that money, but they don't want her to profit from a book or a movie deal. >> sarah: new this morning, horse racing will return to suffolk downs once again. the state gaming commission says the east boston track will hold six days of horse racing next year. suffolk downs did the same thing this year, as well. the track stopped holding horse

start your day off right. >> christa: what could be better. wren clair is here. >> wren: not a bad forecast. not a bad weekend forecast. our main concerns are going to be some breezy conditions and some falling temperatures for us. we do have a wind advisory in effect throughout the cape. that starts this afternoon and wraps up late tonight. but all of us will be looking at pretty breezy conditions. currently winds predominantly out of the west. these winds are going to shift out of the northwest as the cold front pushes through new england, and that's what's going to usher in that cooler air as well as those very breezy conditions. we're going the they this afternoon, into tonight and tomorrow, so pretty breezy by sunday, as well. this front currently sitting to our northwest is going to push further to our southeast. and so those of us in northwestern massachusetts and southern new hampshire are going to see that cooler air a little bit earlier to our southeast, the cape seeing those temperatures fall later into the afternoon. but i think even by the late-morning hours, some of us can see temperatures falling. temperatures in the mid to upper 40s for us this morning. pretty mild. chillier in nashua at 36 degrees.

being charged with resisting arrest. >> christa: and a car going up in flames in hingham. firefighters rushed to put out this fire in the hingham shipyard thursday afternoon. luckily no one was hurt. investigators have not said exactly what started the fire. and a brookline animal hospital evacuated after a hazardous scare. employees were forced to evacuate the hospital thursday morning after they started feeling dizzy and nauseous. police and fire crews showed up to check for any potential problems. >> we found some acceptable substances, which would normally be found in the hospital. and other than that the building was clerd to be reoccupied. >> christa: so 12 employees in total ended up being ill, but no one went to the hospital. >> sarah: new this morning janitors at harvard are prepared to strike. a union representing those workers voting to go on strike if they don't agree the a new labor contract by next tuesday. the two sides have been negotiating for the past month.

pipeline project during a demonstration in downtown crossing. protesters chained themselves to the doors of a td bank on thursday morning. they say they did it because the bank is one of the companies helping to finance the controversial project. police arrested four people for distribute -- disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. >> christa: a dog getting attacked by an alligator in florida. police say her owners were taking her out for a walk when the g her into the water. one of the owners managed to pull the dog out of the water. >> you could see the tooth marks. >> there's in signs there saying there's alligators in this area. nobody cares. >> christa: so the dog is expected to recover and be okay. wildlife officials are working to try the remove that alligator. and crews fighting a brushfire in san diego last night that was pretty big. it's next to a residential neighborhood, but officials say

we've learned that 26 people were arrested in connection with that unrest overnight. and now checking the day's other top stories, police are now continuing to investigate after an infant dies in marlborough. investigators say this two-month-old boy was found with two unresponsive adults inside a home thursday morning. right now those two people are still in the hospital. and a woman and man are now facing charges after a wild chase from connecticut into worcester. state police say the suspect stole two vehicles and stabbed two womenn when state troopers spotted the stolen s.u.v. in worcester, police say the driver rammed into some cruisers before barreling into a driveway. police say the women who were stabbed should recover. >> kris: right now an mbta bus driver is under investigation after officials say he hit a car and just kept on going. passengers on that bus called 911. when they noticed something wasn't right. 7's victoria warren live this morning with more on what happened here. vicki?

really scary situation for these passengers. they were on the bus. they were driving on this road here in melrose when police say the driver crashed into a parked car. but the bus kept going. and it wasn't until these passengers got to stoneham that police were able to catch up with the bus. passengers on this mbta bus calling 911 after police say the driver crashed into a parked car and just kept going. that crash happened in melrose, and in this surveillance video, up to the bus in stoneham. police now investigating to see if the driver was under the influence of prescription drugs. sky7 over the scene. the 12 people who were on the bus safely got off. none of them were hurt. they got on another waiting bus while transit police continued investigating. the mbta says the drivers worked for them for 12 years. he's now accused of leaving the scene of an accident. the damage to the parked car in melrose described as minor.

in the newsroom, i'm sarah french, 7news "today in new england." >> christa: new details now. a judge ruling that statements a woman made to police can be used in her manslaughter trial. 20-year-old michelle carter alongedly sent conrad roy text messages encouraging him to commit suicide. carter claimed her statements to the police were illegally obtained because she was not told that she had a right to an attorney. >> sarah: the couple who filed a wrongful death lawsuit over the death o baby being awarded $4 million. they say their irish nanny is responsible for the child's death in 2013. a murder charge was dropped against aisling brady mccarthy last year after a medical examiner later ruled the baby's death as undetermined. the couple's lawyer says the nanny doesn't have that money, but they don't want her to profit from a book or movie deal. >> christa: environmental police tracking down a moose on the loose our in springfield. officers spotted the animal walking around in someone's backyard last night.

in portland, oregon, overnight. people hitting the streets to voice their outrage over the election of donald trump. some of those demonstrators took it a little far. they broke windows and started setting fires. >> christa: police say this started as a peaceful protest and turned into a riot. they took several people into custody. let's go to 7's sarah french in the control room. >> sarah: what started as protests quickly turn entered riots on the streets of portland, oregon. police say as many as 4,000 people took to the streets for a second night marching against donald trump. right now we' people were arrested in connection with the unrest. the demonstrateors threw objects at police, breck window, lit firecrackers and started a dumpster fire. and people were protesting outside the country, as well. hundreds marched through the streets of downtown vancouver last night. the protesters gathered at the new trump international hotel & tower. then they marched downtown blocking traffic in the streets. some held signs that said "build

7's jennifer eagan is live this morning with more. >> jennifer: kris, neighbors tell us this baby was a two-year-old boy. the district attorney's office tells us they were called to 43 harrison place just before noon yesterday. a 19-year-old woman and 23-year-old man were found unresponsive along with the baby, who was also unresponsive. the infant was pronounced dead at the hospital. the two adults were rushed to the hospital, as well, and remain there the district attorney's office is not releasing very much information on this case. detectives were here for hours, into the night last night, taking pictures inside the home as well as outside the home and collecting evidence. they were also taking a look at this car here that's parked out on the street, this blue car parked out here on harrison place. the department of children and families is calling this a criminal case. they say they are also involved. live in marlborough this

>> christa: also on 7, suspects leading police on a chase past two states. it started in connecticut and crossed into massachusetts. the chase ended with a crash in worcester, which is where we find 7's nicole oliverio with more this morning. nicole? >> nicole: well, christa, as you mention, it began in connecticut when this couple allegedly carjacked two women, stabbing them, but it all ended in this worcester cul-de-sac. the suspects couldn't get much further when they came down this street, slamming into this family's blue cr-v t here in the driveway. according to mass state police, they caught up to and arrested the two suspect, man and woman from connecticut, after investigators there sent out a be on the lookout alert. troopers here in massachusetts then spotted the stolen s.u.v. and began chase. part of it was actually caught on a jewelry store surveillance. the suspects, though, couldn't get away after turn entering a worcester neighborhood. investigators say the pair, both 21 years old, carjacked a vehicle in connecticut in the morning, crashed, then
