93 southbound 128 to the zakim bridge, 11 minutes. both the "t" and commuter rail starting the morning on schedule. back to you, guys. >> christa: right to breaking news on this friday. protests in the streets of portland, oregon, turning violent. thousands took to the streets for a second night rallying against president-elect donald trump. so people arm themselves with rocks, they shatter windows and also set fires. >> sarah: and portland is just one of the cities seeing protests and demonstrations here. 7's kris anderson has breaking details. >> kris: good morning. you can seehe what began as protesting quickly turned into riots on the streets of portland, oregon. police say as many as 4,000 rioters took to the streets for a second night marching against the election of donald trump. right now we know police have detained several people, some of whom were armed with bats. demonstrators threw objects at police, broke windows, lit firecrackers and started a dumpster fire. things escalated as officers

you see some smoke there in the streets. ultimately police used pepper spray and flash-bang grenades, forcing the crowd to finally disperse. people were protesting outside the country, as well. hundreds marched through the streets of downtown vancouver, canada, last night. the protesters gathered at the new trump international hotel & tower and marched downtown, blocking traffic in the streets. some held signs that said, "build kindness, not walls," and "love trump's the president-elect is back on twitter taking on the protesters. trump tweeting, "just had a very open and successful presidential election. now professional protesters incited by media are protesting. very unfair." it's still unclear just how long these protests are going to continue, but we'll keep following them. live here in the control room, kris anderson, 7news "today in new england." >> christa: kris, thank you. meantime, president-elect donald trump is back in new york this morning expected to top with his transition team. trump met with president obama yesterday at the white house.

developing details. jen? >> jennifer: sarah, neighbors tell us the baby was a two-month-old boy. the district attorney's office confirms that a criminal investigation is ongoing. they say that is standard in a case where an infant dies. neighbors want to know what happened here. state police spent hours taking pictures inside this home in marlborough and of this blue car while bagging potential evidence at the scene. investigators confirm a baby and two adults were found unresponsive inse >> this should never happen. it should never happen to a child like that. >> police got the 911 call just before noon yesterday. when they arrived, the baby was rushed to the hospitals. >> it was shocking to see police cruisers on the street, never mind find out a young baby had died. >> jennifer: the unresponsive adults, a 19-year-old woman and 23-year-old man, are still in the hospital. >> kind of freaked out. usually nothing happens on this street. >> jennifer: neighbors say the

driveway. >> there was like 15 police cars and then it was like crashed to my car like this. i saw it from the window upstairs. i went downstairs to get my daughter. i was afraid gun shooting or something. >> state police finally caught up to and arrested the two suspect, man and woman from connecticut, after investigators there sent out a be on the lookout alert,ro massachusetts spotted the stolen s.u.v. and started chase. part of it call on a jewelry store surveillance camera, but the suspects couldn't get away after turning into a worcester neighborhood. >> i just saw cop car after cop car flying down the street, like it's very unusual because it's a dead end. nobody really goes very fast. so that got my attention. i think it's a very unusual choice for somewhere to run to because the whole neighborhood is very sealed off.

vehicle in connecticut in the morning and crashed. they then reportedly stole this s.u.v., stabbing and seriously injuring the two women inside. when mass state police noticed the s.u.v., police say the driver rammed into cruisers, trying to get away, before barreling into family's driveway. >> i was... i told her to get in the house, because that's something she could have done, or she could have threatening the police with me or my daughter. it was pretty scary. i was really shaking. >> now that couple, a 21-year-old man and woman both from connecticut are being held at the holden state police barracks. they'll appear in court on monday. live in worcester, nicole oliverio, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: an m.i.t. employee facing troubling charges. prosecutors say 23-year-old gannon leblanc was heavily armed and trying the pass himself offer as an f.b.i. agent when he tried to get into another employee's home.

alarming attack on a 14-year-old walking to schooling. this morning the community is on alert. 7's kris anderson joins us now with more on this. >> kris: scary moments as you can imagine. police are saying this teenager was assaulting while just walking to her bus stop. the call coming in just before 7:00 thursday morning, and according to officers, the girl was walking along puritan road when she was grabbed from behind around the neck, thrown to the ground by an unknown man. a witness saw the incident and started screaming and that's >> we are treating it as an assault and battery on a juvenile. there is no indication that there was any attempted abduction or anything like that. but it is concerning. >> kris: police say this man took off in a light-colored sedan. right now police do not think other children are in danger. but they are watching. live here in the newsroom, kris anderson, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: new details now, a judge ruling that statements a woman made to the police can be used in her manslaughter trial.

on fire. for the latest on what happened, here's nancy chen. >> nancy: new balance has been getting a lot of backlash after showing its support for president-elect trump. a spokesperson feels that trump's win is a move in the right direction after the obama administration turned a deaf ear to them on trade policies. the internet very quick to react here. customers sharing their outrage on social media. some protesting the boston-based company by throwing their sneakers in the trash. you saw it there. others lighting themn the company later clarified their comments saying they meant the right direction in regard to trump's trade policy with the trans-pacific partnership and making shoes in the united states. in the newsroom, nancy chen, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: two babson college students reportedly kicked out of their from ternty after allegedly driving through wellesley college waving a donald trump flag and antagonizing students. "the boston globe" reports the incident happened at hillary clinton's alma mater just hours after trump won the election.

pipeline project during a demonstration in downtown crossing. protesters chained themselves to the doors of a td bank on thursday morning. they say they did it because the bank is one of the companies helping to finance the controversial project. police arrested four people for distribute -- disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. >> christa: a dog getting attacked by an alligator in florida. police say her owners were taking her out for a walk when the g her into the water. one of the owners managed to pull the dog out of the water. >> you could see the tooth marks. >> there's in signs there saying there's alligators in this area. nobody cares. >> christa: so the dog is expected to recover and be okay. wildlife officials are working to try the remove that alligator. and crews fighting a brushfire in san diego last night that was pretty big. it's next to a residential neighborhood, but officials say

>> jennifer: christa, they are. the district attorney's office is releasing limited investigation on this case, except to say this is a criminal investigation. neighbors tell us this was a two-month-old boy. they want to know what happened here. state police spent hours taking pictures inside this home in marlborough and of this blue car while bagging potential evidence at the scene. investigators confirm a baby and two adults were fod >> this should never happen. it should never happen to a child like that. >> police got the 911 call just before noon yesterday. when they arrived, the baby was rushed to the hospital. >> it was shocking to see police cruisers on the street, never mind find out a young baby had died. >> jennifer: the unresponsive adults, a 19-year-old woman and 23-year-old man, are still in the hospital. >> kind of freaked out. usually nothing happens on this street. >> jennifer: neighbors say the woman is peruvian and lived here

>> i heard the cars coming through. then there was like 15 police cars. and then it was like crashed to my car like this. i saw it from the window upstairs. >> nicole: state police finally caught up to and arrested the two suspects, a man and woman from connecticut. after investigators there sent out a be on the lookout alert, troopers in massachusetts spotted the stolen s.u.v. and began chase. part of it call on a jewelry store surveillance camera. >> i just saw cop car after cop car flying down the street, like it's very unusual because it's a dead end. nobody really goes very fast. so that got my attention. >> nicole: investigators say the pair, both 21 years old, carjacked a vehicle in connecticut in the morning and then crashed. they then reportedly stole this s.u.v., stabbing and seriously injuring the two women inside. when mass state police noticed the s.u.v., police say the driver rammed into cruisers,

we've learned that 26 people were arrested in connection with that unrest overnight. and now checking the day's other top stories, police are now continuing to investigate after an infant dies in marlborough. investigators say this two-month-old boy was found with two unresponsive adults inside a home thursday morning. right now those two people are still in the hospital. and a woman and man are now facing charges after a wild chase from connecticut into worcester. state police say the suspect stole two vehicles and stabbed two womenn when state troopers spotted the stolen s.u.v. in worcester, police say the driver rammed into some cruisers before barreling into a driveway. police say the women who were stabbed should recover. >> kris: right now an mbta bus driver is under investigation after officials say he hit a car and just kept on going. passengers on that bus called 911. when they noticed something wasn't right. 7's victoria warren live this morning with more on what happened here. vicki?

really scary situation for these passengers. they were on the bus. they were driving on this road here in melrose when police say the driver crashed into a parked car. but the bus kept going. and it wasn't until these passengers got to stoneham that police were able to catch up with the bus. passengers on this mbta bus calling 911 after police say the driver crashed into a parked car and just kept going. that crash happened in melrose, and in this surveillance video, up to the bus in stoneham. police now investigating to see if the driver was under the influence of prescription drugs. sky7 over the scene. the 12 people who were on the bus safely got off. none of them were hurt. they got on another waiting bus while transit police continued investigating. the mbta says the drivers worked for them for 12 years. he's now accused of leaving the scene of an accident. the damage to the parked car in melrose described as minor.

in the newsroom, i'm sarah french, 7news "today in new england." >> christa: new details now. a judge ruling that statements a woman made to police can be used in her manslaughter trial. 20-year-old michelle carter alongedly sent conrad roy text messages encouraging him to commit suicide. carter claimed her statements to the police were illegally obtained because she was not told that she had a right to an attorney. >> sarah: the couple who filed a wrongful death lawsuit over the death o baby being awarded $4 million. they say their irish nanny is responsible for the child's death in 2013. a murder charge was dropped against aisling brady mccarthy last year after a medical examiner later ruled the baby's death as undetermined. the couple's lawyer says the nanny doesn't have that money, but they don't want her to profit from a book or movie deal. >> christa: environmental police tracking down a moose on the loose our in springfield. officers spotted the animal walking around in someone's backyard last night.

in portland, oregon, overnight. people hitting the streets to voice their outrage over the election of donald trump. some of those demonstrators took it a little far. they broke windows and started setting fires. >> christa: police say this started as a peaceful protest and turned into a riot. they took several people into custody. let's go to 7's sarah french in the control room. >> sarah: what started as protests quickly turn entered riots on the streets of portland, oregon. police say as many as 4,000 people took to the streets for a second night marching against donald trump. right now we' people were arrested in connection with the unrest. the demonstrateors threw objects at police, breck window, lit firecrackers and started a dumpster fire. and people were protesting outside the country, as well. hundreds marched through the streets of downtown vancouver last night. the protesters gathered at the new trump international hotel & tower. then they marched downtown blocking traffic in the streets. some held signs that said "build

7's jennifer eagan is live this morning with more. >> jennifer: kris, neighbors tell us this baby was a two-year-old boy. the district attorney's office tells us they were called to 43 harrison place just before noon yesterday. a 19-year-old woman and 23-year-old man were found unresponsive along with the baby, who was also unresponsive. the infant was pronounced dead at the hospital. the two adults were rushed to the hospital, as well, and remain there the district attorney's office is not releasing very much information on this case. detectives were here for hours, into the night last night, taking pictures inside the home as well as outside the home and collecting evidence. they were also taking a look at this car here that's parked out on the street, this blue car parked out here on harrison place. the department of children and families is calling this a criminal case. they say they are also involved. live in marlborough this

>> christa: also on 7, suspects leading police on a chase past two states. it started in connecticut and crossed into massachusetts. the chase ended with a crash in worcester, which is where we find 7's nicole oliverio with more this morning. nicole? >> nicole: well, christa, as you mention, it began in connecticut when this couple allegedly carjacked two women, stabbing them, but it all ended in this worcester cul-de-sac. the suspects couldn't get much further when they came down this street, slamming into this family's blue cr-v t here in the driveway. according to mass state police, they caught up to and arrested the two suspect, man and woman from connecticut, after investigators there sent out a be on the lookout alert. troopers here in massachusetts then spotted the stolen s.u.v. and began chase. part of it was actually caught on a jewelry store surveillance. the suspects, though, couldn't get away after turn entering a worcester neighborhood. investigators say the pair, both 21 years old, carjacked a vehicle in connecticut in the morning, crashed, then

stabbing the two women who were inside of the car. so when mass state police troopers spotted the s.u.v., police say the driver rammed into cruisers before again barreling into this blue car you see here inned driveway. nobody in this worcester home was hurt. those two suspects were arrested and will appear in coward on monday. live in worcester, nicole oliverio, 7news "today in new england." >> kris: also this morning, an m.i.t. employee facing some alarming allegations. gannon leblanc is accused of impersonating an f.b.i. a arlington home. police arrested this 23-year-old after they say he knocked on the couple's door, dressed as an f.b.i. agent, asking to use the bathroom, but get this, prosecutors say leblanc was also carrying knives, a handgun, a stun gun, and zip ties. >> christa: happening today on this veterans day, president obama will honor the nation's veterans for the final time while he's in office. the president will pay tribute by placing a wreath at the tomb of the unknowns at an annual service at arlington national cemetery.
