we make our way through the rest of your work week. temperatures are not as varied as what we woke up to yesterday morning. not as cool in norwood. 42 there. 49 in boston. low 50s across the cape and 43 degrees in jaffrey, as well as fitchburg. pretty mild out there. we're already tracking some showers headed further northward. some of these taking more of a northeasterly track. a closer look at who is seeing those showers. worcester currently seeing a little blip move through. you can see franklin also having some light rain move through pace here some this morning we're talking about sprinkles, very light rain. by lunchtime, though, some more moderate to heavy rain at times. these high tides are going to be a concern for us today. i mentioned that earlier. we are talking about king tides, high astronomical tides in relation to the super moon. you add in this low pressure system, some on-shore winds and we're looking on potentially half a foot to around a foot of storm surge today, especially again at 11:07 when we do have high tide. not as much of a concern into

flow. minor coastal flooding is definitely a concern today. pockets of moderate coastal flooding also possible. we'll be monitoring that throughout the day. there is a coastal flood advisory in effect from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. short-knit period of time. an hour before that high tide and a couple hours afterward. that's in effect again until 2:00 p.m. take a look at future cast. this morning future cast is saying some showers by around 6:00, 7:00. i think future cast has been lagging a little bit. so by morning commute, seeing those showers. but temperatures stay comfortable today in the mid to low 50s. we are not looking at a cool start. throughout the day we'll continue to see some showers, pockets of heavy rainfall definitely possible, even through your evening commute. we do still see some showers past dinnertime. rainfall totals for most of us will range between half an inch to around an inch of rain. showers are likely, isolated storms possible. the risk for severe weather remains low. tyings hud will be in the low 50s for most of us.

temperatures were in the mid-60s. today a whole different ballgame. mostly cloudy skies. rain likely here. we're seeing those showers push into the state of massachusetts. spotty showers, light sprinkles out there. that's going to pick up in intensity as low pressure tracks further northward. right now we're seeing some of those showers move mostly through to our west as well as across the cape. our other main concern today, in addition to these showers and isolated storm, pockets of heavy rainfall possible, as well, is some coastal flooding. we have a coastal flood advisory in effect from 10:00 a.m. until this is in relation to astronomically high tides as well as the sooner moon. we're looking at high tides around half a foot up to a foot higher than what we do typically see for normal central using. minor coastal flooding is expected. we could have some pockets of more moderate coastal flooding. temperatures this morning are very mild, especially compared to yesterday's temperatures, which for some of us, like orchg, got into the upper teens. today we're talking about mostly temperatures in the mid to low 40s. a pretty mild start, but we don't warm up too much.

cloudy skies and highs in the low 50s today. back to you, guys. >> christa: let's check the commute as we head out the door. you want the hear what danielle gersh has to say. >> danielle: thanks, christa. here's a look at the pike as you head toward allston-brighton. no issues here. outside 495, we have quite a few issues on the the pike and 495. so we'll start with this accident. this is eastbound on the pike at route 9. this is a crash involving a truck. we have an overturned vehicle on 495 northbound. this is at west main street. sorry these icons are kind of small. i just have a lot to fit on this little part. another accident, route 9, this here is another disabled vehicle eastbound on the pike. so a bit messy over there. and then on 128 southbound at route 2a, we do have construction. so the left lane is blocked there. that's causing some back-up. this was our crash in wakefield, but actually it just cleared. 128 southbound at north avenue. but traffic still backed up to route 1 because of that. now, south of town, braintree to boston, northbound on the expressway, that drive a lot of

incident is being compared by officials with the mbta to that deadly train crash in new jersey. that train also hit something before crashing into the platform that. was back in september. one person was killed and more than 100 others were injured in that crash. >> kris: police are adding patrols to a new hampshire hiking trail after an alarming attack. there police say man came up behind a woman and assaulted her after she walked along the loop road trail in lebanon, new hampshire. that's when the attacker took off. >> christa: family and friends gathering for a vigil in honor of a brockton teenager who disappeared 27 years ago. jennifer lynn fay was walking to meet up with friends back in 1989 when she suddenly vanished. people at the vigil replaced what they believe to be her last-known steps. at this time police say that there are no suspects. >> kris: two suspects facing a judge after an alleged deadly hit-and-run in taunton.
