again, former attorney general janet reno has died at the age of 78. look for more coverage on "g.m.a." at 7:00 a.m. melinda: right now, streets in a milwaukee neighborhood are back open aer a two-alarm fire. smoke could be seen rising from a building overnight as crews tried to put out the flames. this happened at 15th and saint paul. that's right along i-94 he shadow of the marquette interchange. emergency crews were called to the scene around 12:45 this morning. you can see smoke coming out of the windows as firefighters worked to get the fire under control. police tell wisn 12 news the building is vacant. no one was hurt. investigators are still trying to figure out exactly how the fire started. ben: a five-year-old girl hit and killed in milwaukee. right now police are looking for the person who was behind the wheel. thema is live for us in milwaukee with the latest. thema? reporter: well, ben,

vehicle that drv drove away after the crash. the autopsy is planned today on rickyia langham. she was hit by a car near hampton and fond du lac on sunday morning. police say the driver of the car did not stop. family and friends have created a memorial near the spot where the crash happened. people close to the family say rickyia and her mother were on their way to church at the time. police say the girl ran out into the road. family members want the driver to turn himself in. >> and we're just asking have a heart. this mother is hurting. this child was in this mother's hand. reporter: there is a memorial tomorrow night. back here live, the police have not released information about the possible suspects or a description of the vehicle that was involved. of course, if you have any information about this incident, you are asked to call the police.

headquarters "wisn 12 news this morning." >> thank you, thema. melinda: turning now to commitment 2016, we're just one day away from the election. millions of people across the country will cast their votes tomorrow. more than 52,000 people have already voted in milwaukee alone. early voting started at the end of september and ended over the weekend. the city election commission tells wisn 12 news that this year's early voting broke the old record by about 15,000 thousand ballots. ben: republican vice presidential nominee mike pence was in mukwonago on tu senator ron johnson and house speaker paul ryan were there too to support trump and his running mate. trump was supposed to stop in west allis on sunday but he canceled that event. on the democratic side, clinton's vp pick tim kaine was in milwaukee yesterday. he also made stops in green bay and lacrosse. melinda: right now, donald trump is lashing out at the fbi after an investigation turned up no criminal activity by hillary clinton. fbi director james comey announced this weekend that the investigation is closed once

body on the property and then kohlhepp confessed to a quadruple shooting that happened in 2003, and led investigators to more bodies on his land. kohlhepp is being held without bond. officials say he may have killed seven people over the years. ben, back to you. ben: new this morning, a texas family hit by bullets outside of a food mart. a ten-year-old girl was shot in the face. she's in the hospital this morning. police say it started when a car pulled up to the family in the parking lot. they say the person in the car started a fight and then started shooting. it's not clear if the family knew the suspect. melinda: a family argument turns tragic in florida. police there say an 18-year-old killed his grandmother. dylan broughman is facing charges for her death. it all began with an argument over beer. the grandmother reportedly hid the teenager's beer while he was in the shower.

the woman's daughter and the suspect's mother says she's standing by her son. >> he's a very calm sweet boy but he does have some issues and he needs help with those issues. melinda: police records show that that woman has also been arrested for fighting with the grandmother. those charges were dropped. ben: new this morning, a mom in california is going to court after selling a bowl of homemade ceviche. the woman belongs to a facebook gr she says sometimes people would ask to buy those dishes. someone contacted her asking to buy a bowl of ceviche that person was an undercover investigator. >> it was just like unreal that they were saying you could face up to a year in jail. ben: she's not the only person who was busted but she's the only one going to court because she refused to take a plea deal.

to them if she has to go to jail over that bowl of ceviche. officials say it's illegal to sell any food that's not subject to health inspections. melinda: dale earnhardt junior is known for his speed on the track. his speed on the open road got him into some trouble this weekend. earnhardt's fiancee posted to twitter saying he'd been pulled over for speeding. the officer wrote a warning for the legendary nascar driver. earnhardt is staying off the track after some health issues. he was on his way to watch the triple-a texas 500. >> you wonder if that happens more often. ben: a fan stole the show last night at the lakers-suns game. he was invited down to the court to attempt a half-court shot. watch it. got it. that very lucky shot won him first bumps with the lakers and $35,000. good for him. all on television too. >> very nice.

animal shelter is teaming up with "good morning america" to find forever homes. >> he loves to play with the puppies. he's a staff favorite. ben: this is frank a 10-year-old pit bull. dogs like frank need a new home. he's hanging out over at the humane animal welfare society or "haws" in waukesha county. all month long they are working with gma and their doggie adopt-a-thon. gma is featuring different humane societies across the co >> and they are making it a fun event for us. we've been doing some video live and doing a lot of fun things with it and it's great because it picks up the staff, it picks up the animals, we've got the public involved and we're just having a lot of fun. >> that is a great event there too. they want to hear your story too. all you have to do is take a pic of you and your adopted pup and post it on instagram or twitter
